I called 5 DEA agencies around the country. The reason is a research paper I am doing. It's about how they are okay with alcohol legalization but cannabis legalization is ridiculous. Things like that. Out of 5, four of them immediately said that they are "busy" after agreeing to talk for a few minutes. When I admitted that this is for a research paper and that it's about cannabis, they said "oh I'm sorry this is a bad time I am busy". The only one who talked was the NJ office and he didn't give me information. Just kept suggesting I go to the website. But I want to hear it from "the man" himself. Goes to show you, the DEA really has no reason behind this prohibition except money.
The DEA doesn't make the laws, they enforce them. If it was legalized, I bet a lot of DEA agents would toke up the day it became legal. They're just doing their jobs. If you want to ask why it's illegal, you're asking the wrong people. Call your congressmen, senators, representatives. They're the ones that make the rules.
you should be asking them questions like. what do they do with the drug money? cause one problem is, if a DEA agent stumbles across 100k in drug money, and hes the only one that knows, would he really just hand that money over to his superiors. if it were me id at the very least slip a few 100's in my pocket.
100k drug bust? I wouldn't take any less than $5,000 and even that is a little skimp. Denzel Washington in Training Day had the right idea imo..

my mom is currently dating a swat officer, hes doing drug busts every so often, he has to follow these dealers place to place, waiting hours for them to get them at the right point in time.. he's shown me pics of when they get drug busts.. blocks of cocaine behind them with stacks of 1 million + On top.. said he'd never take any of the money/never has because he loves his job too much to risk it... i feel a lot of cops are the same way. they like what they do..too much to risk their job. while on the other hand there are always some dirty cops that will as corrupt as you think they are, though, most of them dont pull that shit and slip bills.. (although it does happen from time to time.. just not as often as you may think)..
