Has anyone everthought of buildig a religion with weed as a critical piece? [ No sleep for 45 hours and fabulous AK47 makes your mind wander] I'm talking about something similar to the Rastas (I apologize if I offend with my ignorance) and Native Americans. Mind expanding visionary stuff if you know what I mean.
Get a group together to write our bible. Could the feds stop us if we really organized into a religion?

Marijuana isn't a center piece to Rastafari. I don't think it's even a center piece to native american beliefs. Both religions either hold a God above all else. Or in the case of Native American, a God and the surrounding spirits of the land. Regardless, religious beliefs will not protect you in a court of law. Especially one not registered/recognized as a legitiment religion by the U.S. Government.

I think he is asking if the feds would recognize it as a religion. And marijuana is important to rastafarian religion, as they consider it a gateway of sorts to being closer to Jah.
I may be wrong, but I am assuming that he was inspired to ask this based off of the Native American group that can use peyote as a religious sacrament.
The federal government would not recognize this religion you are talking about as an actual religion, it has no background, and it would have to be cleared by the government for it to allow its members to consume a schedule 1 drug, and do you think that the federal government is going to give us the right to smoke weed? They will say that we are creating this group just to get high. Which we are.
