Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

Everyone talks about legalizing marijuana, and then sits on their ass doing nothing progressive, there is not actually plan to get the government to listen to the people. Instead we just keep on smoking, getting arrested for something that is in no way toxic to oursevles or the environment, this is a social injustic.

What do people think we could actually do to stand up against this tyranny? Why should we continue to suffer in a country that tells us we hold the power against the government in our own hands?

We need to do something.

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

In my opinion i don't think marijuana will be legalized for a long time. America have made marijuana basically the "devil". The government have brainwashed so many people into thinking its wrong. And i don't think the people in power want to out right and say "um yeah, well weed is one of the best things to do in your life and that there are so. And we spend billions of your hard earned money fighting something that could make our world easier better and cleaner." so until the people in power can own up to a mistake that have ruined the lives of millions and cost the people billions of dollars i cant see it being legalized.

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

Itll happen. 2012 is a time for change brother. If canada can get it going, the US will have to follow. Cali is working on state legalization, just hoping that gets going soon.

frankly i wouldnt compromise on a deadline for legalisation or set any dates for the near future...to me, the government is already working on borrowed time...so i want my rights now

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

THe US government has declared war on marijuana smokers. We are 11 million strong and we will win this war if people wake up and become soldiers. Marijuana is a medicinal herb that has ben used for 1000's of years and its only ben the last 50 that it has become illegal. Any substance law is a violation of the Constitution of this great nation and this is clearly the most unjust! Rise UP! This is opnly the begining, i say throw off the imposters tring to call themselves your leaders completely!

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

The way I see it, our government is basically a twisted and squirming mass of corporate bullshit and corrupt politicians. Talking to it is similar to having a full fledged debate with a house cat. Because in the end, chances are the cat was never listening and it never gave a fuck in the first place.
I'll still be rooting for all of you working towards legalization. I give up trying to argue with the ass fucks in charge who are concerned with only two things, their bank accounts and power.
Legalized or not I'll still smoke until the day I die.

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

Thanks for the talking points. It might be different in the US, but here in Canada decrim is a bad strategy that was killed by US pressure and an election that gave us our slimiest PM since Mulroney. Great.

Now we're seriously close to mandatory minimums for growers of 5 plants or more. Bill C-15 is worse than previously proposed decrim or anything we've ever seen. This would catapult us into the Dark Ages. That's not an argument for decrim.

David Malmo-Levine has argued extensively against decrim, and his points are clinchers, IMO.

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

yea the fed is pushing us into the dark ages...then, anyone using weed was deemed a witch or a herectic...now, only the term is not used but the process of criminalisation remains the same

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

I'm all for the legalization but the thing is... with how the cops can put more attention on the more serious crimes out there. Don't the law enforcement department get most of their funding from battling marijuana? It is probably one of the most common illegal "drugs" out there. I mean coke and e are everywhere too but not in abundance as weed. All I can think about in this argument point is the plummeting of law enforcement, which I don't really care about, but that will affect the security and overall structure of the community instantly. Also, all the people that have been charged for possession, association, distribution, etc from before the time of legalization would be pretty pissed. I see a lot of lawsuits flying around. What do you guys think?
---
Also, keep in mind how screwed the whole legalization process is. I remember talking about it with friends after hearing it from a professor in one of my classes. Although the state law says that marijuana is legal, the federal law deems it illegal. Many herbal stores in California caught the attention of the feds and got shut down. We need a bill to make it a federal legalization.

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

....i dont understand that "they" (the government) say we are a democratic society ...but if that was the case why cant they let the people decide wheather it should be legalized or not...ive been through hard times in my past and resorted to drinking....those were the worse days of my life....ever since i started smoking on the reg..ive been happy and i never feel bad or sick after smoking, like i did when i was drinking......you would think that if alcohol is legal , marijuana would be...its actually been proven that drinking can cause your liver and kidneys to fail, a friend of mine lost his dad do to liver failure....but in my whole life ive never heard anyone say they lost a loved one to marijuana.....

Re: Marijuana Decriminalization Talking Points

i think i am the first to say what im gonna say, i havent read all the posts

but the only reason cannbis is illegal, is because if it was made legal the govermant wouldnt make any money from it, why else would it be against the law, you dont her about a stonner getting lean and walking out on the street and shooting or rapping someone, cause us stonners just think na, its warm inside,

Look if pubs sold weed, then people wouldnt come out shit faced drunk, and wanting to beat the bus stop in
