Yeah this is awesome.

It doesn't really "legalize" it because it is still not legal under state or federal law so any LEO working for the state or for the feds can still bust you, but it makes it so the town cops have to take you to the county jail or sheriff if they actually want to do anything about it.

As everyone said, its a step in the right direction and it is great to see that a town basically told the cops that they did not want them wasting the money and time arresting people for MJ.

72% of the citizens voted it in...see that...called COMMON SENSE.

You can have up to an Ounce on you and not get busted by LOCAL police, but I think larger quantities still come with some sort of penalty? As long as the state police leave that little city alone, all the stoners will be happy (and the general public as they won't be shelling out as many tax dollars trying to jail stoners).

this is such a major win for the legalization of cannabis. My parents told me it would never even be decriminalized let alone legal.... Although its sort of a weird legal, and it dosen't go into effect until January 1st, 2010, I still feel this is a great step towards full legalization; Then again, I say that a lot.... lol

Since it is still "illegal" under state and federal law, you will have to buy from a dealer. However, I have to assume that since there is a conflict over Colorado's state government and Breckenridge's local government, the police won't be going after petty offenders. They will just slam people who drive while high, and put others lives at risk.
I feel this a huge step in the right direction for legalization of cannabis.

Dude, they really didn't give a shit to begin with. I've been caught multiple times by cops up there and they just ask if I'm selling it to/ smoking it with any minors.

This is barely any different than the other states that decriminalized it then. If you can't buy it from a store, it's not legalized.

Yes its completely legal for people 21 and over. Read the articles and you would know. It is Legalized not Decriminalized. But, people in breckenridge can still be prosecuted by like sheriffs or state police. Just not by the police of breckenridge. The state can still turn out and make this illegal but im hoping that they will either let it go, or convert the whole state....

Yeah, there are a shit ton of Summit county fuzz up there now. They're still chill about it though just as long as you're not smoking in public.
