Thumbs up BBC Segment on Portugal Decriminalization
Great segment from BBC explaining how Portugal's decriminalization policy has been very successful. Got this from CC.

I am currently being prosecuted for my third marijuana related charge. My first was a drug paraphernalia charge. My second was possession of less than an ounce of marijuana when I only had no more than ten marijuana seeds. My third was January 23, 2009. I was found to be in possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana when I had no more than .2 grams.

I am now facing up 30 days in jail as well as 2 years of probation.

Do you believe our drug policy is fair?

Great video, didn't really see it on CC or earth2obama so thanks a lot for posting

I saw a time article about this for the first time today actually, glad to see more info on the topic, this time from BBC

The whole topic of portugal's decriminalization is pretty interesting to me, they really have a much more humane and effective drug policy than basically any other country, especially America's - treating, not punishing the users

Personally, i would have never expected this outcome, but i guess the facts are conclusive and Portugal is a pretty clear example of the effectiveness of decriminalization, even the UN supports decriminalization UN Backs Drug Decriminalization In World Drug Report

Why do they always have to put a negative spin on shit? All data says this has been a success, so they interview a heroin user that says people wont stop using drugs unless they are illegal.

because its the BBC, they cant go being Johnny Liberal, they'll upset all the conservatives.
