Re: Marijauana Decriminalization bill is ACTIVE IN WASHINGTON STATE! (H.B. 1177)

Matt, your not the only one Bro. I think it will be 2009 or 2010 we will have 50 state legal Marijuana.

I spent like an hour or so, talking to my mom and showing her some videos about how close we are.

She is amazed, she said she thinks this year we will reach our goal.

Let me mind you though, she isnt a dorky mom, she grew up a pothead and remained a huge drug addict until she found she was pregnant with me, now we share a joint or a bowl all the time.

Your day will come my friend, and hopefully sooner than you think.

Im waiting for my letters to finally get a responce out of WV, but I doubt they will budge soon.

Marijuana is so close to legalization, and if it doesnt reach that, Im gonna smoke till the day I die anyway.

F**k The Police!

+rep man, I agree with that. Marijuana has helped all of us in our bad times, and now it's time to have it help everyone out. Potential profits are no longer lost; and the costly spending we already commit in this "war on drugs" would be cut. Not only would we MAKE money, but we'd SAVE money. That can add up to a pretty sum when we're talking about billions of dollars to start with - and it trickles down through all of economy. Medicine is cheaper as a result, and so is fuel (if we start harnessing hemp for fuel), and so is clothing as a result of hemp as fabric... overall, our daily expenses would decrease by quite a lot.

Anyways, I'm pretty so I'll stop there, but now's definitely the year of cannabis (or is it the ox? ). Hopefully we legalize it before we financially fuck ourselves over some more.

Big Roadblock for bill...read below

To everyone following the bill:

Please read the following links, there is a roadblack for the bill:
1. http://stash.norml.org/washington-st...na-possession/

2. http://cannabisnews.com/news/24/thread24442.shtml

The guy wants to prevent the bill from being heard in the legislature!!!

Please email the guy.
This is what my email to him said:

hurst.christopher@leg.wa.gov

Subject: Please consider supporting H.B. 1177

Dear Representative Hurst:

First, thank you so much for serving the streets of washington as a police officer for many years.

Secondly, I want to allay your concerns about the bill by bringing up the following points which are worth considering:

1) This bill will save an estimated $7.5 million. This money is needed for WA state!
2) Thirteen states have decriminalized marijuana, and studies show that the rate of use in these states is no higher as compared to states that have not decriminalized.
3) It's time for a change - we all know that this war on drugs has been an utter failure and that marijuana use is no lower today than it was when the war on drugs started.
4) Your concern regarding possible confusion for those crossing the border to different states or going on a boat is unfounded because:
- it's unclear whether the federal government would bother prosecuting people for such a minor crime. Even federal law-enforcement officers can treat possession of up to an ounce of marijuana as an infraction, rather than arresting and jailing an offender
- Thirteen other states have already [decriminalized marijuana]—including Massachusetts, where a measure similar to the one in the Washington State legislature passed a public vote in November by a 30-point margin—and we haven't seen any of those other states struggle with [the] problem of federal prosecution

In summary,
Please reconsider your stance and allow this important bill to be heard in the public safety and emergency preparedness comittee.
