well stated question... I think it may be time for a lot of cooperative work, the shroomery has been pushing this since the first day the forum opened on change.gov, we also have a question up for vote, keep in mind that originally the question we all pushed to #1 left little room for explanation, this one and ours prods obama staffers for one, if you dont read the whole thread, please read the first post, make use of the search terms and encourage others not to vote for the 300+ quistions that will allow such a simplistic answer the next time since this thread is still a sticky, I figured this would be a great place to post it http://www.shroomery.org/forums/show...gonew/1#UNREAD thanks everyone for all the help you guys give in pushing for reform, it's time we made ourselves heard Prisoner#1

You are absolutly %100 correct, It's the outrage that we are reallly lookin for. But I must stress that politicaly obamas hands are misconstrue, but he is doing what he must to hold a position viable for change. In addition to what you said about the generation of change, they were that for the reason of their curb in education, and the view of the world through the eyes of the media inseted of the eyes of the government corrupted school books, yellow jornulizm in papers and the propagana campaines that were ran many a time by many a party, but their parents(many by this time grandparents) were not free of those burdens and that is the same reason why my dad maybe for it, but my grandparents would be against it. we now live in a compleaty diffrent wave of education then 30 years ago, what with the internet and what not, so we are exposed to so much more we tend not to take every thing at face value and actually question shit, like, what the fuck is our government getting us into this time? when b4 it was, Who do we get to fight this time? you wit me??(smoke break) And in short, image is still the issue, I know of LEAP, and i hear about firefighters getting caught up in all types of drug shit, i mean i'd go out on a limb and say that every profession at some point or a nother has experienced an operator who was under the influence( i dont like that term to much that neeeds a change too) of a drug, But that isnt enugh to bring to the table alone, for their are some very controling, skepitacl, and influencal people who would like to keep the legality the same, lobbyists if you will. But it is the MARCH that we are missing, the CIVIL RIGHTs MArches of the 60's and 70's go shit the fuck done, just chek the prez to be, So we could follow by example, like the generations that you sopke of would have loved to do, but to no fault of their own, amny have found that they can smoke it in peace now, and if they try to speak up they could risk losein what they have fought for, that being their life, family, love, all that good stuff get put on the line when one wants to go for such a change of governmental policy. Epifinay... HOW CAN WE FIGHT WITHOUT CASULITYS is this ^ the problem, is it that we need not fight for our right, but that we should revloutionize the way that civil rights are attaied?? IDK, but everything that has happend since mary got locked up, has been a stepping stone to walk of her freedom........we gotta be some fukkin masons i forgot, but reviwed and relized that you are starting to open that "container ship of worms" Last edited by Reinstate Mary; 12-30-2008 at 09:38 AM. |

The highest question (no pun intended) dealing with weed is "The people of this country want marijuana decriminalization, when will marijuana be decriminalized? Why continue to spend billions of dollars to prohibit marijuana when evidence shows that the war on drugs is, as you said, "an utter failure"?" It's currently number 13. We need to have more votes guys! |

you're right we need more votes, but the highest question is in #2 place not #13. The marijuana questions are in "National Security" and "Additional Issues", and in both of those places the highest marijuana question is in second place. In NS it's "Our current war on drugs is failing America. Billions of dollars are spent on a losing campaign. Our prisons are overflowing with people that don't deserve to be there. What is the government going to do in an effort to fix this major problem?" And in AI it's "The people of this country want marijuana decriminalization, when will marijuana be decriminalized? Why continue to spend billions of dollars to prohibit marijuana when evidence shows that the war on drugs is, as you said, "an utter failure"?" We only need a couple of hundred more votes in each question to make them #1. Has anyone not voted yet?? http://change.gov/page/content/openf...17_private_url edit: and the highest marijuana question overall appears to be in about 26th place, "Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it and create millions of new jobs." Fifteen million people smoke marijuana in the US, why isn't everyone voting???

of their elected representatives, writing is great if you're unable to take the time to get down there but as we all know, it's just like court, personal appearances are what count the most lets all follow the advice that obama gave in the campaign "get in their faces"
