I am organizing a March on the White house for the 4th of July 2010. As of Today 11/6/09 I have the support of Norml as well. I am hoping for a Million People! That should get some attention.I am in the process of creating a website www.coalitionforamericanprogress.net it is now on line but it still needs work. So much to do and so little time to do it in.... |

I agree, this July 4th event will be FOR Marijuana REFORM. However, marijuana reform is a very broad subject. It is not just about being able to smoke it. It is also about growing, textiles, alternative energy sources and much more. Now the reason why I chose July the 4th: Historical Value! Our for fathers declared our Independence on the forth of July, 1776. the people were Rebels of their day. They all either grew and or smoked marijuana. So following in the Framers of the Constitution's foot steps (that was also written on Hemp paper) I am using the fact that it will be a security nightmare in DC to our advantage. It's time for the New Rebels to stand and be heard. To tell our government that we want to repeal the prohibition of marijuana. Legalization is NOT the answer! Taxing and regulating it is impossible. To do that, you would have to make growing at home illegal or you would have to buy a tax permit to grow your own. President Obama has seen this, that is why he is leaning for decriminalization. If we just repealed Prohibition of marijuana. That would end the drug cartel's money making in the US and stop destruction of our National Forest. Then States Like New Mexico and Montana who have commercial grow license could produce mass amounts for sale to vender's and you would know what quality of product you were buying! The stems could be used for many other products. The leaves squeezed into oil for many uses as well. While 4:20 is a very recognized date among smokers. It is also looked down at from non users as a time for stoner's to get hi. It also brings up the topic of Hitlers birthday, the Murrow Building bombing in Oklahoma City and several other dark clouds. Not a Progressive Bell Ringer in My opinion. The other thing we need to work on is getting anyone who is in jail or prison for simple possession charges out! and if you have ever been charged with simple possession get that off your record! This will not be as easy, it will take a lot of work but think of the money it will save in tax dollars! I'm Phill Grimes and I'm Going to Washington DC on the 4th of July, 2010 to tell the government to repeal Marijuana Prohibition. I need your support either in person or a donation. Donations are only accepted at www.coalitionforamericanprogress.net |

If i see this thing getting organized ill def. be there. But if its not well organized don't expect me to be there. I'm not showing up at washington with only like 300 people there so we can all get arrested and the shit kicked out of us. And you should try to spread the word at a Rainbow gathering. Dunno if you've ever heard of them but they are hippies and regular folk that gather for peace. An thats like 30,000+ marijuana activists right there to help the cause.

We really should all get together and have a 10 thousand man march in-front of the capital. That's the kind of shit that gets stuff done and changes laws.

yo, at the very least, even if it does get broken up that shit will definitely make national news, and that's what will get people talking. More activism is the clear visible will of the people. Nothing speaks louder than massively organized protests.
