honestly do we really need to have cannabis legalized i mean some parts of it would be nice but what about the taxes and the prices i mean one gram goes for 15 bucks god only knows what could happen when the goverment get into the mix...ugh i dont wanna think about it. but still im pretty sure that i could go on living my life fine and dandy smoking my illegal cannabisbut that my opinion.

The biggest reason is because there's no justification for it being illegal.

We can't let people randomly declare things to be illegal for no reason. To allow that would be to live our lives as a lie.
It's something we abhor when we see done by other governments and is something we must refuse from our own.


Marijuana isn't murder or rape or theft, nobody's rights are violated when it's used, no harm is done to the user and no costs are incurred by society. Marijuana isn't a "gateway drug", and legalizing marijuana won't send any sort of wrong message to our youth. There is no valid reason for marijuana to be illegal, and to simply accept its illegal status without fighting it and without teaching our children and our children's children to fight it is to meekly accept unneeded an unnatural restrictions on our lives and on the way we perceive the world.

I wouldn't mind $15 a gram personally, if it meant I could wallk up to a convenience store counter, buy it in front of other people, and have a peaceful drive home without wondering whether or not I'm going to be pulled over and have my 4th amendment rights tested.

Plus I agree with amsterdamage. Government must be checked and not allowed to walk all over it's citizens. If Thomas Jefferson was alive today, he'd probably be in jail.

It would be alot cheaper than it is now because there would be alot of it around. Im sure an eighth of dank would go around 15-20 dollars with like a 5 dollar tax. The reason it costs so much is because its illegal.

Well partly because it would be easier to buy and safer, and maybe less expensive. But mostly because things should be legal until they are proven to be worthy of illegality. Bud has not been proven IMO to be worthy of being illegal.

Prices would DEFLATE dramatically. The only reason it's so expensive is because of the risk there in dealing with it. This creates an artificially inflated price and a profit margin for "drug" dealers.

It should be legal. I don't see why people don't want it to be. Without marijuana being illegal the "War on Drugs" wouldn't even be legitimate in the DEA's eyes, so again, we gain many freedoms back simultaneously.

pretty much exactly what i think, if it was legal it would be much more accepted, you wouldnt have to be scared of searches, or drug tests anymore, and the price would deflate like crazy, even though there would be taxes, because the danger rises the price, like salvial said,

i think a pack of joints would be like 20-25 bucks but im no economist or statistician so i dont really know,
but im sure it would be three times as cheap as it is now, but i think if a law that legalized growing were enacted, i think they would make it so the tax for growing is very high so they can discourage independent growers, so they can improve the economy by making pretty much everyone buy it except the few hardcore who want to grow their own, or who grow illegally.

also it would be a much more secure system also, you would never have to rely on some dealer who may or may not have weed, or some shady dealer who sells you short, with oregano or laced with something or just shit weed.

hopefully if it were legal, big companies who would sell weed would make premium weed and not mids because they were too lazy to put care into it, i.e quantity over quality. but then again this is all speculation.
