Request for help!
This was sent to me today, please help if you can. If we all put
pressure on our Courts and legislators we can get the laws changed!
Quote:
Hi All
please take a moment to help. I have made a form letter up that is good if you do not have the time to write. Your own words would be better if you do have the time. In any event, please print out my letter and send it, or do one of your own. It could be the difference between getting many years of incarceration, or just a few.

Honorable Judge Claudia Wilken,
Please take a moment to educate yourself on the history behind the crime of producing Medicinal cannabis in this country. I promise it will only take few minutes of your precious time to look at the many references and images of the historic use of cannabis as medicine, and look at the "so called" criminals (almost every Pharmaceutical company) who used to produce medicines in this country.
This has many images of pre1937 Cannabis Medicines produced and sold in this country.

APPENDIX -- A
INDEX OF Pre-1937
MEDICAL CANNABIS MANUFACTURERS
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -----
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -----
Asking any present-day Drug/Pharmaceutical manufacturer if they ever used Medical Cannabis in any of their pre-1937 medical products is a bit of a joke. Each and every last one of them (while not actually denying it) will simply tell you that they don't have any records or information about the subject. All this makes it hard for present-day historians to locate and identify pre-1937 Medical Marihuana (then known as Cannabis) medical products. It is for this reason that the museum has put together the following index list; as sources of documentation, we have used the following:
An advertisement by the company or medical article about its products - stating that they make use of cannabis.
An actual product container or label, which states the cannabis, is an ingredient.
A confirmation statement from a reputable librarian or company spokesperson.
Manufacturers sales literature, such as sales and product catalogs, pamphlets, etc., stating that cannabis is in use.

IF IT WAS NOT MEDICINE WHY DID THEY USE IT?
I am asking you for compassion in your sentencing of the two remaining defendants. We need your help!
Federal Statute can need to be changed as education and attitudes change. Federal Statute used to demand fugitive slaves be returned to their "rightful owners" in the south, even if they escaped to the north where slavery was illegal. Some laws need to be changed, even if "law enforcement does not like it." I am asking for compassion for the two remaining defendants. They have always tried to do the right thing. Michael Martin returned from his vacation and turned himself in, and if given home detention would honor his word to stay home with his family. He is not a dangerous man, and should not be given sentence that puts him at risk, his health at risk, or his family. Many in the medical cannabis community feel he is a hero....for many reasons, among them his compassion for those that are poor. I have heard of him delivering to hospital a basket of free edibles to a person who gets allergic reactions to opiates. I received many free edibles at California Cannabis Events from Mr. Martin and so did many other people. Money was not what motivated this man. He had a passion for producing real quality medical grade edibles. I would point out that the queen of England used to eat hashish laced chocolates and truffles. Was she a criminal? Michael Martin has earned a place of honor in our community by taking this hit, and trying to do the right thing by his employees. We ask that you do the right thing and consider this case in a special manner, think, study and then make a decision for leniency with the two remaining defendants both Michael Martin and Jessica Sanders. I would recommend home detention for them both as well, and a minimum sentence. Why Not? We have the largest prison percapita population in the world. One person in a hundred is behind bars. And for what? So we can perpetuate bad law, bad science, and bad history concerning medicine, and market place competition? Use your invisible hand of justice well, do the right thing, make a decision for leniency with the two remaining defendants because only you have the power.
TO SAY THAT CANNABIS IS NOT MEDICINE IS A LIE....AND IF YOU ARE A RELIGIOUS MAN WHO BELIEVES IN THE BIBLE.....YOU KNOW THE RIGHT THING TO DO. I AM NOT A BELIEVER, HOW COULD GOD DO THIS TO MAN?
PROVERBS 19: 9 The false witness will not be free from punishment, and he that launches forth mere lies will perish.
EZEKIEL 13:8-9 "Therefore, this is what the Lord Jehovah has said: "For the reason that you men have spoken untruth and you have envisioned a lie, therefore here I am against you" is the utterance of the Lord Jehovah. And my hand has come to be against the prophets that are visioning untruth and that are divining a lie. In the intimate group of my people they will not continue on, and in the register of the house of Israel they will not be written, and to the soil of Israel they will not come; and you people will have to know that I am the Lord Jehovah."
JOHN 8:44 "You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because the truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie." Jesus Christ
DO THE RIGHT THING!

Second Tainted Sentencing: No Prison, No Drug Tests for Michael Anderson
Written by Vanessa Nelson
Michael Anderson OAKLAND, CA -- There will be no trial for Compassion
Medicinal Edibles, the medical marijuana candy-maker better known as
Tainted Inc. All of the defendants in the case have now pled guilty,
and the latest plea bargain was finalized just yesterday. After flying
in from Georgia, Michael Anderson appeared in Oakland federal court and
received a sentence of two years probation with no drug testing required.
He was elated by the decision, repeatedly praising his judge and probation
department for treating him fairly.

Jessica Sanders Pleads Guilty in Tainted Inc. Case
Written by Vanessa Nelson
Jessica SandersOAKLAND, CA -- After a fortnight of soul-searching,
Jessica Sanders has decided that she will not fight the federal felony
charge stemming from her employment with medical marijuana candymaker
Tainted Inc.
Instead, Sanders signed and accepted a plea bargain in court yesterday,
finalizing what was a very difficult choice. Her role in the business
had been a minor one – she took the phone orders for Tainted Inc.'s
marijuana-infused food products – but she was charged with a felony
nonetheless. At the time of her arraignment, she felt inclined to take
a plea bargain and get the case resolved as soon as possible. But shortly
afterward, she began to consider the possibility of going to trial and
fighting her charge. A felony conviction, after all, carries a slew of
grave consequences, and Sanders had to be sure that she could accept this
fate.

(Hearst newspapers nationwide, 1934) "There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in

sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others."

Dear Medical Cannabis Supporters,
My name is Michael Martin and I was involved with a
company called Compassion Medicinal Edibles, formerly
known as Tainted, which was raided by the DEA on
September 26th, 2007 for providing safe and effective
non-smoked edible forms of cannabis to patients
throughout California. However, as I have learned, in
the federal courts marijuana is per se illegal, and my
attorneys would be precluded from presenting a defense
based on state law. In the federal system, marijuana
continues to be listed on Schedule I as a substance
with "no commonly accepted medical use," even though
our government still provides medical cannabis to a
handful of patients who are "grandfathered in" from
the federal government's "Investigative New Drug"
(IND) program.
I write to ask you to send a letter of support to help
encourage the Honorable Judge Claudia Wilken to treat
me with leniency so I can avoid an extended
incarceration that would take me away from my young
children. I have been an active part of the medical
cannabis community for many years and I always strived
to provide professional and safe forms of medical
cannabis through dispensing collectives. Our mission
was to develop the best tasting and most effective
cannabis edibles, ensuring quality and consistency to
medical cannabis patients. I believe we achieved that
mission but our success led to a two year
investigation that ended up in the prosecution of
myself and three of my staff members.
I need your help in communicating to the Court that
while the law deems me a criminal, my actions are more
consistent with being a part of a community dedicated
to the healing and therapeutic natures of cannabis.
I am attaching a PDF of a basic character reference
letter outline that one you can use to develop a
letter if needed. Not all sections apply to everyone,
but please do take a moment to write in support of our
cause, thereby helping to inform the federal judiciary
about what is happening in the medical cannabis
community.
