Pothead Stereotypes

Long hair, hazed and befuddled look on the face, tie-dyed t-shirt. Making a low sound kind of like "uuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhuuuu uuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhh."

Says, "man" at the end of every sentence.

Calls everyone "dude."

Pseudointellectual.

Dead beat.

Waistoid.

What do you guys think of these stereotypes, they annoy me.

Its one of the reasons I have decided to be more out of the closet about my marijuana smoking.

What do you guys say?

If that annoys you, just check out the "Stoners in the Mist" campaign/"documentary" from Above the Influence. I can't wait to see how much of our tax dollars were spent on that. It is absolutely offensive!

Sometimes stereotypes can be funny, but unfortunately they are often taken too seriously when it comes to marijuana users.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record here. These stereotypes really infuriate me but whats worse is the MJ users who allow themselves perpetuate it. This is the kind of stuff that keeps people from taking us seriously and keeps weed illegal.

I hated Alpha Dog too but mainly because it was the worse fucking movie ever made. Sorry I know that's off topic but I just had to throw that out there.

That video's actually sickening.

Unfortunately stereotypes are the result of some grain of truth. Just as the movie "The Wild Ones" was based on the stereotypes of the motorcycle gangs, the actions of some perpetuated that stereotype.

The only way we will ever lose those monikers is for each of us to declare ourselves as responsible, productive, literate human beings who just happen to also smoke cannabis.

Long live freedom based on responsibility!
