Medicinal pot is already being made by the drug companies

Not sure how many of you have heard about this and im not sure if its true myself but check it out and let me know what you think. They call it marinol. It says its just synthetic THC. Is this possible? http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/ongoing/marinol.html

Marinol has been around for years. The problem with it is that it only contains THC and it can be an uncomfortably intense high, so intense that it sometimes has the effect of causing nausea instead of curbing which is one if it's intended uses. Some of the benefits that medical marijuana patients experience come from the 60 other cannabanoid compounds and 400+ other ingredients in the smoked/eaten/vaporized marijuana.

I gotta say I find that hard to believe since A) Marinol is not prescribed very often and not very easy to find. B)It's prohibitively expensive, usually $20/pill. C) I know from personal experience how intense the high can be. I took 20mg (4 pills) and at times it was a not so fun ride.

As said, it is very expensive and contains only THC... one reason you get different highs from different plants is also due to the other psychoactive compounds which act along with Delta-9-THC such as cannabidiol, cannabinol, and whatever else. Surely for optimal medical effects, there should be a balance of this other cannabinoids as well. D-9-THC alone, synthetic or not, would not be sufficient.
