Video File NC tokers speak up we need to do something

First off, I'm going to say that if anyone would like to let me know of any mistakes I missed, feel free. Secondly, this is just a first draft, I might add more, and if anyone would like to add anything lemme know and if its a good point ill add it in and be sure to give credit for it. Or something like that, I just wanted to get this out there and see what others thought. Peace!

The nation's prison population has exploded recently, and it is becoming a great problem to the economy. Last year America spent $44 billion on it's prison system, which is ridiculous. To reduce the number of incarcerated persons and effectively reduce prison overcrowding, the state of North Carolina needs to decriminalize laws related to marijuana and any paraphernalia.
These could be victimless crimes if marijuana was regulated by the government in the same manner alcohol and tobacco is. It's illogical, inhumane, and unconstitutional to take the right of citizen's to introduce a substance such as tobacco, alcohol, or even marijuana into their own bodies. furthermore, North Carolina spends an overwhelming amount of hard earned tax-dollars for it's lost war on drugs.
North Carolina's prison population is growing exponentially due to excessive incarceration over marijuana related charges. Marijuana is becoming more widely used in all of America and is becoming more understood and accepted as well.
North Carolinians and Americans alike are being distracted from the cost of the war on drugs by the unrealistic goal of a drug-free America and Propaganda. If the citizens were told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth everyone would see how much prohibition hurts everyone. It puts countless otherwise law-abiding citizens behind bars, breaks apart happy homes, and affects people for the most part negatively for the rest of their lives.
Why would any decent human being accept that his fellow man is being punished for something so trivial? Marijuana is indeed a drug, but it is an often overlooked fact that alcohol, tobacco, and even your children's cough syrup are all drugs as well. Drugs more often than not have some sort of a medicinal purpose or another. In fact marijuana has hundreds of proven medicinal uses, and in thousands of years of literature there has been no recorded deaths from marijuana.
Every day people are addicted to and die from over the counter drugs they think are safe because they are labeled "Medicine", Some of which could even be replaced by marijuana. Marijuana has many proven medical purposes and the federal government still denies patients in need of medical marijuana. Marijuana should be available for medical but also for public use as well, but should be regulated in the same manner as alcohol and tobacco.
Furthermore into regulation, temporarily strict laws against driving while impaired could be put into place until studies are done on the subject. As for other temporary laws, businesses selling marijuana could be closely regulated, and growing excessive amounts could result in a fine. Laws could be further reformed to meet citizen's needs in the future as well.
To quote Katt Williams "It's just a plant, but if you set it on fire there are some effects!" They're no more harmful to anyone than the prohibition laws are, and it would make all Americans's lives easier and safer if they could obtain, possess and sell marijuana legally. I believe all of the above is true, what do you think?

cocaine and heroin have done more for the medical and pharmaceutical industry than marijuana.

you cant just pick and choose which drugs are good, and which are bad.

either they all need to be legalized,

or they all should be illegal, including tobacco, caffiene, and alcohol.

I agree completely, I think its wrong our government tells us what we can and can not put into our own bodies. I was only writing about marijuana because I'm not very educated on any other substance. Like I said though, I'll update this from time to time.
