It's time for change

Anyone else sick of the bullshit laws about weed?? We have to try and change that somehow. I was thinking about how big of an impact the internet can have, how easy it is to spread something from one area to the entire country. I started that thread about the Mypsace bulletins that were filled with ,,,,,'s and how weird that was. Just think if everyone on here were to try and do something and spread the news.

If we all were to buy some sticker paper and print out some copies of that and put them in various places think of the impact that could happen. Sure it's not much, but getting a couple people to have their minds changed on such a strong subject is definitely a start. Maybe if we all agreed to print out so many of those, maybe talk to some people at your headshop and see if they could hand those out to customers or something.

Also, maybe there's something that could be posted throughout myspace bulletins that would spread to reach different people.

We could make a difference. Just think about how many people come on these forums everyday. If we all did something to make a difference and got all of our friends to do the same and they got their friends etc.. just think of how much could change.

If we could just change people's minds so that they see that marijuana isn't bad, sure it might not reach as far as the president changing the laws anytime soon...but the people of the future might read that, the future polticians of this country, the people who will be in the position to make changes happen.

Sticker idea is good but also very bad. Why would people listen to stoners vandalizing property with stickers?

A better idea that every student can do is create a charter SSDP club at your school. It doesn't matter if its high school, college, or something else. If your school already has one then get involved. I'm getting the paperwork ready right now to start a charter at my college.

That's a good idea RoL!
No matter what's done the goal should be to change the opinions and voting patterns of our elected officials. They're the ones with the power to change the law, no one else in society has that.

We need more people like you!

I'm a member of my local SSDP and we recently had Ethan Nadelman (head of Drug Policy Alliance) give a speech to a packed lecture hall. A year ago there was no SSDP chapter and the NORML chapter was a joke. Now we are educating hundreds of people about the failure of the drug war. SSDP chapters are also great at working together, we are working with another in the state to try and halt the banning of Salvia.
