yaeh ive been using a 50/50 mix of perlite and vermiculite and ive been doing well. its my hand watering version of a lazy hydro setup! its doing good but i don't like to water 3-4 times a day. and other peat, vermic, and perlite applications always has to be adjusted with lime to adjust the ph levels. my 50/50 perlite and vermic mix is great but i want to experiment a lil bit,so i mixed 80% of the perlite and vermiculite mix and 20% of foxfarm ocean soil mix as my indoor mix, witch i started today. only to try something different so it will get excellent drainage and great air curculation to the roots, also i can water every othor day and can also hold nutrients, unlike the peat witch is off on the right ph, this mix will need no adjusting!
my question is ...has any one ever used this type of mix or ever herd of this mix? i know any type of mix is possible with common sense but just for kicks.....anyone?
is this a good idea or mix for indoor use,im only subsituting
p.s this is only a hand watering application!
