I've noticed that some here claim remarkable color change by icing the soil to lower core temp; was wondering if the concept of using ice water during the flush period had been tried and what effect this might have? And along those lines, is the color change merely eye candy or does it activate some lesser chemicals thereby enriching the buzz?

A days worth of searching for this here and elsewhere leads me with mixed emotions; like a water cure it's something I'll probably never get around to trying.

Might as well give it a try. I dont know about ice water per say. But, maybe very cold water mixed with a mid 60's temp will bring out some color. I dont know that it will make it any more or less potent though...

Probably cause some shock/stress to the plants, but if your roots are deep by the time the water gets there how cold will it really be?

It's eye candy. Forcing a plant to turn purple via cold shock is like faking the funk. I would much rather grow a true purple strain and see the colors emerge naturally.

Getting quite sick of people saying let me google that for you...

Posting a Thread asking for advice, opionions, etc vs. Googling an answer are completely different.

Sometimes one highly repped member will spot the thread and answer accordingly to his specific question

or

lower repped members can lead him in the right direction.

There's a reason he posted a thread...

To be honest I did google first as well as search here, there, and everywhere; was only hoping for a consensus opinion from those with hands on knowledge. I've grown a thick skin as far as feeling hurt over words; ridiculed in high school for long hair and an ear ring, my defense was a good offense / I bought a purse (manbag) and told them I was a big old "La De Dah". Words and dirty looks don't mean a thing.
(My first chance to take the high road and I blew it; The first sentence was all that was necesary, the rest was just wrong)

If you actually clicked the google link youd notice I directed him to a GRASSCITY THREAD SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS QUESTION WHICH WAS ANSWRED AND DISCUSSED. Getting quite sick of people posting the same thread over and over when they could simpy use the search funtion or GOOGLE which will most likely direct them to GC anyways:wave::smoke: .

:), to this day I've never smoked better weed than that witch my long good friends dad grew,, and he swears by topping off your bucket with ice (not ice water)24 hours before chop "make the plant think it snowed and it will do a last ditch THC production" is how he put it, not backed by science research on my part, but he's old school and I've seen his end product,

i dunno, it seems like a waste of time from the pics i saw in that other thread. it just looks like bud that has been properly fed and cared for honestly. i dont see a size or color diff. maybe its because i am slightly color blind heh

The main thing it would do is add color to the plant. It will also stress the shit out of it, but I just can't see how that would cause the plant to produce excess thc? Thc production is based on hours of light. Color of the buds has nothing to do with the potency. In fact, once the leaves turn colors they cannot produce energy which in turn produces thc, so some of the best most potent buds will be solid green with the signature orange hairs.

The whole point of a flush is to finish off your plant, and unfortunately your plant cannot utilize water at such a cold temperature. So instead of finishing it off strong youd basically just he limping into the finish line. Natural coloring is ok, but coloring from ice water wont produce excess resin. This is my opinion from experience and research. I will have to try it once before I totally disregard it.

What a horrible thread the buds sucked to begin with. And there was no clear evidence of it helping because he didn't do I side by wide comparison....for all he knows it could of grown better in the end had he finished it normally. Don't post links that don't have a definitive answer cus I just wasted my time reason 11 pages for nothing.
