Tips on transplanting from soil to DWC system?

  1. Hey i can wondering if anyone had tips on transplanting my 2 week old plants from soil to a DWC set up?

I have 2 inch coconut mesh cups that i was thinking would hold the soil and then i would put those in 2 inch plastic net cups then hydroton inside my DWC system's cups.

Will leaving some soil and a coconut mesh cup around the roots for its life be a problem?

I'm new to this so any tips will help thanks

  2. You will need to read up on how a hydro system works.
The main problem which growers have with hydro, is keeping the pH level right.
Having your soil contact a hydro nutrient solution will fuck up the pH level.
You will need to remove as much soil from the roots as possible, by rinsing the roots with water. Before putting the roots into hydroton pellets, i'd hang the roots in the DWC over night, in pH adjusted 5.5 water (bubbler on ofcourse). Then put the roots in hydroton pellets/net basket, which you have prepared (rinsed and pH adjusted).
