400 watt hps

    im going to switch the lighting for my plants to a 400 watt hps, I was wondering how high above my plants should the 400 watt hps light be.

    i'd say at least 2 feet.

    yes, one foot is normal for any plant.

    When you first introduce them to the 400 leave it up around 2 foot, then slowly over a week or so drop it down...If its vented you can get it prety close but they need time at the beginning to adjust...

    good advice and also put ur hand under it and ull feal when it's to hot

    Just to add... put your hand under for a full minute. If your hand is uncomfortable during the minute, than the level is too close.
