Roots Question.

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by mr.PEEEnut, Apr 4, 2007.

  1. today i went to transplant my week old seedlings, because they seem to be growing very fast, and while i was taking one out of its styrofoam cup,i noticed that some roots had grown ito the bottom of the cup and didnt come with the plant=[
my question is,is my baby gonna die?

and also,i found some shultz 10-60-10 bloom food.
when should i start using this?

  2. First of all, your baby will be just fine. That might have actually helped her a little by forcing some of her roots to branch out into the new medium. I lightly score the roots with a clean razor blade when I have a root bound plant. It's supposed to help them change shape from their previous one and venture into the new soil. Perhaps it may shock her a little but transplanting always does but marijuana is a hardy plant.

Your fertilizer won't come in useful until she's ready to flower. Until then you'll want to find something high in nitrogen with lower amounts of phosphorus and potassium as well as trace nutrients.

  3. For flower I would recommend something higher in K and a bit lower in P... for flowering N is your lowest nutrient added.
