My First Grow! Indoor CFL - 2011

Greetings Grasscity

Hello everyone, long time lurker, finally got the "nutz" and ambition to start growing my own... well technically I finished with college and finally am in a place where I don't have to worry about other "ill-informed" people. I am starting out slow, but eventually I plan on this getting much bigger. So excite!

Not only am I first time grower, but I am also a first time editor as well as being active in forums.

My girlfriend is a hardcore vlogger/blogger/youtube and it is running off on me. I just created a youtube and will be creating videos with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects CS5. We also have a Canon T2i and Umbrella lights for our Cannabis Porn later on.

What strain is it? THC-Bomb
Is it feminized? No
Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? Indica
How many plants? 3
Plants names? Maxima (Oldest 9weeks) Scaber (7weeks) Polyantha (7weeks)
Is it in Veg or Flower stage? As of creating this thread I am day 2 Flower.
I vegged for 9weeks on oldest and 7 weeks on other two.
I am Day 2 Flower
Indoor or outdoor? Indoor , Micro , Could be more stealth if needed.
It's a Grow box made out of a vertical 25ish Gal Tub from Target. Working great so far!
Soil or Hydro? Soil , FoxFarm Oceanforest.
If soil... What size pot? Honestly I don't know how big it is, their not that big.
Lights? During Veg had mostly "5,000k+ 23w 100w equiv CFL" 600ish watts
During Flower I switched to mostly "2,700k 23w 100w equiv CFL" 600ish watts
Is it aircooled? High powered fan w/ Light Traps
Temp of Box? It's winter here in L.A. Day temps were 80ish...Night 60-65ish
RH of Box? Lower, 30%
PH of Soil? I feed with 6.5-6.8.
Any Pests? Nope
How often are you watering? Depends on touch/intuition/lift method.
Type and strength of ferts used? I use all Fox Farm. I have been on the safer side with my first grow, but I follow the schedule on the manual you get with the Tiger Bloom/Grow Big/FF. Every other watering...at a fraction of the rec. amount.

Thumbs em up if you like , My first time ever editing a video... so I kinda hit the ground running, but nothing more fun that chilling with my girlfriend smokin some dank from a dispensary and editing. They will continue to get much better I promise!.... if I didn't have to participate in this slave economy I would be doing this full-time. But rent/tuition/bills all slow me down....but I will come out on top Love ya guys!


I actually started this grow with no intention of recording it. However, at about week 5 I was like damn these ladies look amazing.... kinda inspired me ...Real time I just entered Flower stage...and that is where I will lead on from here on.

Yeah, I do.. By no means anything worth looking at now though. I picked up clones that were about 3 inches tall, and it's only been 15 days since I transplanted them. Curiously, how long did you wait/how big were the plants before you started feeding them Grow Big?

Looked for you're journal couldn't find it... I am a newb : / umm I think the first time I gave them Grow Big was around week 3 or so... could be a week off though.... I planned on my next grow being my "first grow" and this one being a test just to learn initial things... but from reading so many journals and all the great info people have compacted.... it's pretty easy to get started with a little bit of funds and free time...

Day 4 Flowering Currently

I just fed them their first dose of Nutes..Basically Recommended on the FF nute chart. I have been misting for the last 2 weeks and IMO it is doing wonders... my Box Temps are usually 70 on base, around 85 mid box, and 90+ where air exits. So a little higher than I want. They are still looking great...

Question to anyone - Is it okay for the plant to start turning purple on all it's veins? She's my oldest (Maxima) 9weeks she is just about completely purple.. however she's super healthy and happy other than the purple, could be strain... my other 2 younger ones are supposedly the same strain (THC-Bomb) so we will see. Thanks!

What I do for posting pictures is go to ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting and upload them, then copy the direct image links and paste into the [IMG] tags.

Thanks bro , I actually don't top my plants, I too am scared haha! I LST/Lollipop/trim'd my oldest "Maxima", I LST my 2nd, and my third I have done nothing to. I figure next grow I will try something new out to learn about it all.

Also I have non-fem seeds....I am currently on Day 5 of Flower and all three are confirmed LADIES! not bad first grow, all females .... the secret is giving them lots of love and talking to them. They have recognizable conscience levels too

Haha, I'm having that same problem of being too scared. I told my girlfriend I was going to top one to test it, but I couldn't even get myself to pick up the scissors.. Your plants look awesome, so LST probably will be the route I go.

HELP!

So I thought all three were 100% confirmed. Well one of my younger ones. Polyantha has been slower on showing the pistils like her sisters. Well Woke up today and I am very nervous that these are ball sacks forming. Let me know what you guys think.... my instinct tells me yes. But this is my first grow so.... I have no experience.

Let me know bad or good, But me thinks it's a male and 2 females... I was so happy with my 100% first grow ratio Also It was my favorite one growing b/c it was doing so well and stunk the best. Although now Scaber the tall one, smells like cheeseburgers like no joke....little sliders it's weird.

Really hard to tell from the pic, but if your gut is telling you it's a male.. Then it probably is. Sorry to hear that man, complete bummer.

LOL, I have this grow Journal Up on 420mag as well as here. They said Male too. I separated it yesterday and let it grow from sunlight and boy there are ballsacks all over that plant. To bad was my fav and healthiest. To bad I don't have the room to breed.

I just chopped it down tear. I released it's living energy to be else where .

I transplanted and now have 2 healthy flowering females. I also am growing spinach/lettuce and just had my first home grown salad. Best salad ever !
