Indoor & Organic Biodiesel, The Shaman, and Grapefruit Diesel

So about a year ago I crossed about 10 different Strains together in order to:

A) Gather plenty of seeds so I did not have to buy anymore from overseas.
Screw around and see if I could create a strain for just plain fun!

The process was one of the most time consuming grows that I have experienced and did not end up with much "smokeable" bud. It was still good considering I am sitting on thousands of seeds that should get me through at least the next 5 years

So for this grow I am chossing 2 Strains that I crossed several times & one from Next Generation Seeds:

1) BioDiesel (2 Plants)
- Lineage of Northern Lights, ChemDawg, Grapefruit, Lemon Thai, & Hindu Kush

2) The Shaman (2 Plants)
-Lineage of Northern Lights, Swiss Sativa, Super Skunk, & White Widow

3) Grapefruit Diesel (4 Plants)
-Straight from Next Generation Seeds, actually one of my favorite Strains!

Obviously Grapefruit Diesel is not mine but I came up with BioDiesel and
The Shaman

For all I know the names may already have been taken but that's what came to mind!

So for the Grow!

Grow Space:

- 3.5' x 4.5' Homemade Box lined with 2 Mil Mylar.

Lights:

- 400 watt Sunmaster Neutral Deluxe Metal Halide Bulb for Veg (45 Days)
- 2 400 watt Agromax High Pressure Sodium Bulbs for Flower.

Medium:

- Soil
- Mixture of Roots Organics (50%), Homemade Compost (20%), Perlite (15%), Sunshine Mix (10%), and Vermiculite (5%).

Nutrients:

- General Organics GoBox (Bio Thrive Grow,Bio Thrive Bloom, Bio Bud, Bio Weed, Bio Root, Bio Marine, CaMg+, & Diamond Black)
- Since I have added my own compost at the beginning I have just started to use the nutrients. I Try to use my own compost when available but most of the time I need some help. The guys at my local hydro shop told me that the "GoBox" from General Hydroponics was "The Shit" so I decide to go for it. $30 for the full spectrum of nutes seemed like a good idea and so far it has been GREAT. I have used Root's, Technaflora, Advanced, and Humboldt in the past and GO is easily as good as those. Plus it is all Organic. It states that it is "Veganic" which seems like a Bulshit sales point but whatever

Unfortunetaly my grow room was in the middle of it's 12 hour cycle when I took these pics. HPS light sucks for photos but I think you guys will be able to see what is going on.

They are 6 Days into flower at this point, so I am going to make this a nice 2 month heavily photographed journal!

How did you cross the plants. How tedious was it?

It was fairly tedious, just have to make sure your males and females are NOWHERE near each other.

My Grow room is in the basement and I kept the females there, my males were kept by a window that got plenty of light upstairs. Males were healthy enough to produce plenty of Pollen even with difused light from a window.

Just let the males bloom, shook the pollen onto a piece of paper and then applied the pollen with a Q-tip to the flowering females.

I ended up crossing about 18 plants using 3 different Males and 6 Different females. The most difficult part was seperating all of the plants to make sure they would not cross contaminate each other. Just takes some time and patience

I vegged them for 45 days and topped them 2 times during that time.

Growing them in 3 gallon containers, so it I am maxing out my available space

I have 2- 400 watters side by side (6 inches apart) at about 2 feet above the canopy of my plants. Sometimes I lower them, sometimes I raise them depending on the temperature in my grow room.

My room has been getting hot so I have them almost as far up as I can get them. Hopefully some cool winter weather will come soon. Since I have not yet invested in a grow room AC then I am subject to what the outdoor weather will permit.

I have Some ventilation but not enough to really cool down my grow room as much as I want.

I can take some pics for you, if you want to get an idea of my setup

I will say that these bitches are stretching more than I thought they would.

I may need to supercrop them if they get out of control.

I have pinched most of the undergrowth to focus the energy to the top cola's so we will see. Girls are still looking nice despite the high heat in the room.

This is looking nice! Sounds like a LOT of fun creating your own strain--I've dreamed of it myself; then I realise that it must be a lot more work than I imagine.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Grapefruit Diesel. Every damn thing Next Generation does seems to be top shelf! I mean Dynamite is an incredible strain, then I just finished with a grow with 2 GrapeGod in it (10.75 ozs. dried and cured from the GrapeGod). Both strain are sweet, funky, fruity, crystal covered, dank!

I just ordered some Romulan Diesel (among other things). I'm really looking forward to growing this. Funny, I hear that Romulan Diesel is very popular especially in the North West, but I can't find any real strain reviews or grow reports.

I'll be watchin'

Yeah man, I remember you!

K-Train turned out really well I thought, very unique and ridiculously smelly! One of the strains I am growing now is has some Kandy Kush in it (BioDiesel) which I guess is Reserva Privada's version of OG X Trainwreck, like K-Train.

GrapeGod Sounds sick! I have not yet fucked around with any of the Grape Strains and sounds like I need to

Anyway, Grapefruit Diesel is the absolute SHIT! I grew it about a year ago and since it came from Regular seeds... I HAD to breed it. Sitting on at least 300 seeds of GD right now and it will be in my collection for a while!
