Hello Grass City friends! I welcome you to my second attempt to grow the fabulous plant we all know as marijuana. I have thoroughly enjoyed my new hobby. I never understood why people enjoyed gardening. I wish I had started growing my own 20 years ago. I will start about 2 months in to my grow. I had not intended to have a journal at all but I learned so much last time that I felt like I should! Anyway, here we are and here we go. Area: A 20' by 20' room with a closet and bathroom with shower. I use a 36x20x60" tent as well as the closet and shower stall. Medium: FoxFarm's Ocean Forest/Perlite/Vermiculite (3:2:1) I have every intention of going hydro sometime soon! Nutrients: I use Technaflora's Recipe for Success as well as Dark Energy and Bush Master by Humboldt, I think. Here is the tent that I am using. It is from HTG Supply and recommend it highly. Inside are the kids a few months back. Here the closet as I mentioned. Hanging there is a 2' Hydrofarm T5. The best money I have ever spent in lights, period. I can veg 4 plants under it no problem. Here are my current babies: TGA Subcool's Jilly Bean - G13's Pineapple Express - It wants to stretch!! Here are the kids in their closet! More to come later! I will post pictures of those babies from late August. Some have been flowering since 9/23/10.
Sorry about this but in my first post, I neglected to say what my KIDS were. The pots are labeled but nonetheless. I have: Nirvana AK-48 Kannabia BCN Diesel Barney Farm Vanilla Kush Nirvana White Widow All of these were germed by me in late August and given to a friend. He has some of these a few weeks from finishing. He will share with me. These are some cuttings from the originals. I also have a few flowering as I mentioned before! These are being powered by a 400W Lumetek ballast on a 12/12 schedule. It is silent and runs very cool to the touch. I Like It A Lot! Here is my tent all closed up! Here it is just before the lights came on! And again with the lights on! This is a Short Stuff California Haze - Auto I'm glad I didn't pay for it! It is unruly! Here is my friend's Nirvana Northern Light's Auto - He topped it twice after I told him not to. It only began to flower when switched to 12/12. This is a Barney Farm Pineapple Chunk - I didn't top it and it quadrupled in size during flower. I wish I had known. However, it smells like Pineapple. I am just AMAZED! And a teaser of the shower of power! I have a 600W Quantum Ballast pouring streams of light from above!
Good Morning! Wanted to update but my camera has died. No pics! However, I got my CPPM-1 up and running in the shower of power and it was at 1295 ppm when I checked it this morning. Of course, opening up the door sucked a bunch of it out. Everyone is doing well and I will post pics as soon as I can. Thanks again for stopping in!
Thanks for stopping by! I will flush the Pineapple Chunk soon and go ahead and chop her this weekend. I will grow many other strains before I come back to this one!
Hello all! Thanks for stopping in! Thought I would drop a quick update this morning! Here is my NEW Quantum ballast. We'll see if the hype matches the performance! I also picked up a Sentinel CPPM-1 and regulator. Again, we'll see if the hype matches the performance! Veg Room: I moved the White Widow and AK-48 into the flower chamber. Starting from the left, they are: BCN Diesel, Vanilla Kush, Pineapple Express (front), Jilly Bean (rear) They seem to be doing pretty well. I am exciting about the Jilly Bean. It is a regular seed. So, let's all say a little prayer for my little girl. I hated killing my boys last year. Grow Tent: Here are some pics of the 3 in the tent: This is the Cali Auto. I will never buy this seed. 120 days from seed is F%$ked up. Also, the Pineapple Chunk is coming down on Sunday after a flush. Don't forget about the Northern Lights Auto. damn man. thats quite the auto you have there. im incredibly jealous of your plants haha, my one flowering plant is like half the size of yours haha. ill be getting this exact setup with the tent you have and the light, so its cool to see what will be possible to get in it. great grow man!

Looks good man, i know your pain for the silver haze mines 88 days old and has no signs of bud and it way biggger then yours lol. i too WILL NEVER BUY THIS PLANT its ridiculous, 120 days?!?!?! outdoor i guess itd be a good one. Im pullin up a chair and seein how it all pans out
Thanks, my man! I appreciate the kind words. Reality is I wish that Cali auto was more bushy but it is a true sativa (supposedly). It is beginning to have a kerosene/pine/Tanqueray Gin smell. Very funky! The truth is in the smoke anyway. We'll see in January, maybe?!? Thanks you, sir! The buds are kinda airy. I haven't grown a wide range so I'm no expert. They are not as dense as the LA Woman that I grew last spring but much more dense than the Super Lemon Haze. Glad to have ya! It is hanging as we speak and will go into paper bags on Wednesday. I promise to file a smoke report after a 2 week cure. BTW, I pulled a small popcorn bud from the LSD yesterday afternoon and put it in an envelope and left it on the ballast. I got up early this morning and ground up my tiny bud and baked it this morning. Fast Forward (literally) 3 hours later - I am standing there, phone in hand debating whether or not to call in sick to work. I am MOIST with anticipation! There is another week probably before she get the chop. Same with the Red Berry Cherry. More than likely, she'll hit the skids next weekend. Again, thanks everyone for stopping by. Hello all! Here is a VERY belated update. I am down to one growing chamber. Honestly, I am headed toward another hiatus. I was going to keep this growing thing perpetual but will soon put my house on the market. I can't have people touring my garden. It is moot really. I have a bunch of weed put back. I figure I will get close to half a pound from the four in the tent and that should hold me for a while. So, I promised a while back that when I got my act together I would take a few pictures. Here is my setup from the outside of the tent. There is a CPPM-1 injecting CO2 at a constant rate of 1450 ppm. There is a Can 33 Carbon filter. It is a recent acquisition and is the most valuable piece in the room. Odors have just vanished. It is amazing. I was using ONA, Soil Moist, a fan, and a 5 gallon bucket. That was economical but not nearly as effective. Here is inside the tent. There is a 6" hood and a Vortex fan. I built that crappy screen myself out of pvc. There is a small space heater and a small fan attached to the post to circulate air and Co2. Inside the tent, there are: LA Woman Jilly Bean Vanilla Kush Super Cali Haze They began flowering on St. Patrick's Day. Day 10, then... A quick bud shot of the Super Cali Haze from across the screen - Feedback is welcome!
UPDATE: April 1st, 2011 4:00 AM - Sorry about the crappy camera! I couldn't sleep so I got up made some coffee and took some quick bud shots before the lights came on. Here is my Super Cali Haze - She sprouted on January 17th. I expect her to go another 40 days or so. The last time I grew one she popped just a few seeds on a bottom bud. This plant is one of those seeds. She is growing faster then her mom because of the CO2. Should I go ahead and replant her outside somewhere to insure she can't bust a nut and seed the others down the road? Sorry for the crudeness! A bud shot! Some of the entire plant! Here is the LA Woman - She is a big beautiful bush. I have grown 12 varieties of weed and she remains my favorite. She stays healthy and bushy and the high is trippy. Barney's Vanilla Kush is growing tall. Like the LA Woman, the screen is helping to train her. This was a cutting from a friend. I started the seed and gave him the mom to keep. Last but not least is the TGA Subcool Jilly Bean. She is a runt compared to the rest but the weed itself is outstanding. I got less than an ounce from the last one that I grew. I let this one vegetate longer than the first one and this one has CO2 that the other really didn't. I expect at least 40 grams dry. We'll see. When they say it is for bad days, they mean it. I challenge you to a combination of Jilly Bean and the movie, "Jackass 3". My stomach was hurting from laughing. Anyway, I digress. She was also a cutting acquired the same way as the Vanilla Kush. I hope you get a kick out of seeing these. I will keep up this journal until this harvest is finished. Comments are appreciated!
