Just another bag grow (Sog)

Day 1:

About 30 Seeds was placed in wet paper towels and placed in tupperwear bowl and stored in cabinet

Day 3:

18 Seeds starting showing tap roots and was planted in 16oz red plastic cups

Day 5:

Sprouts started pushing thru the soil and the cups was placed under 24 Watt T-5 single bulb 2 foot long and 6500K

Day 7:

The Sprouts are now about 1 to 2 inches and showing 1st set of leaves

Day 9:

Sprouts are now about 2 to 3 inches and showing 2nd set of leaves. Cups was moved to Four Bulb 4' New Wave 44 T-5 Light with staggered 6500K and 2700K Bulbs

Day 13:

Sprouts are now about 4 inches and still showing 2rd set of leaves with new leaves starting to grow in. They was transplanted from the cups into 1 gallon clay pots

Day 18:

Plants are now 5 to 6 inches and showing 3rd and 4th set of leaves. Plants was placed under 100 watt MH Lamp

Day 25:

Plants are now 6 to 8 inches and showing 5th and 6th set of leaves. Plants was placed under 400 watt MH Lamp

Day 26:

Today...... Fineally Some Pictures of the Ladies (I Hope their all ladies)

Day 28:

The Ladies have grown to about 9 inches now and I decided to transplant once again from a 1 gallon pot to a 2 gallon pot

1 to 2 more weeks of Veg with 400 Watt MH (Depending on their growth) and these Ladies will be introduced to a 400 Watt HPS

I am currently waiting on a 400 Watt MH/HPS Switchable Ballast that was ordered, thats why maybe 1 to 2 more weeks of Veg.

I already have a 1000 Watt MH/HPS Switchable Ballast and Bulbs but want to keep the Electric Bill down as much as possible due to the A/C is now running alot more then it did a few months ago.

I started with 18 seeds that germinated and now down to 8 plants with more to be dropped when I find out if/who the males are.

Thoughts?

18 Germinated and was put in cups.

After about 3 days the number was dropped to 15 due to not showing good growth

After 4 more days the number dropped to 12, the 12 best looking was transplanted from the cups to 1 gallon pots

After last week that number dropped to 8 when the best looking was transplanted to 2 gallon pots.

The 8 remaining will be allowed to further veg for another 1 to 2 weeks and then switched to 12/12.

Once I find any males they will be killed and tossed out of the pack.

I hope to get a 50/50 and will be able to flower 4 females under 400 watts and also be able to get a few clones.

I did not want a large electric bill with 1000 watts so I went with 400 Watt

I Topped 3 and FIM'd 3 of the 8 plants to see how well they do

I got the 400 Watt HPS/MH and a 1000 Watt HPS/MH switchable ballasts along with new bulbs and almost perfect reflector dirt cheap

The 400 is working great in the 2x4 foot print

Its starting to fineally fill out and look very promising

I decided to transplant one more time to 3 gallon pots ahead of the time I was intending on doing it so I wont have to do it again in a week or two

Day 34 From Seed And Day 1 of Flowering:

The Ladies (I Hope all of them are) had the bulb changed from MH to HPS and the timers was set to 12/12

1/2 of the plants showed quite a growth in the Veg mode

I hope that the switch to 12/12 will promise even more growth and yield a small amount of males (Hopefully none) and a nice amount of bud.

No pics today as the Ladies look almost as they did from yesterday

Everything looks good!

The Sog is looking good with some waves in it from some growing tall and out while a few are still hangin low and wide.

Maybe tommorrow when the plants hit their 7th day in 12/12 I will post some update pics and will do so weekly till its time to hang em high

A few more days and I should be able to find and get rid of any males hidden in the Harem

Flowering: Week 1 Day 7

7 Days of Flowering and the sog is filling out very nicely.

I been looking to find a male or two hidden in the harem but cant seem to find any, Yet!

All the tiny hairs seem to be turning into node sites within a day after seeing them

Here is a couple quick shots.

Pic 2 The lady decided to drop the leaf for a quick pic

I went to wally world and bought a $3.00 Emergency Mylar Blanket and cut it into a few pieces and attached it to the walls to add some light reflection to the lower branches. Seem to be working out quite well.

A friend is making a stainless steel drip tray to match the bottom of the grow floor.

Once the tray is finished and in place I plan on removeing the plastic tray and possibly getting some 2 1/2 or 3 gallon pots and doing one final transplant.

I bought some bamboo rods for when the ladies start to lean and noticed that the stalks the ladies had was about the same size or bigger then the bamboo

A 24" box fan was used the whole time on low when the lights are on to give a slight breeze to the ladies and it seems to be working great.

From day 1 I set the timer to allow the fan to kick on 30 minutes prior to the lights and 30 minutes after the lights and then an additional 30 minutes 2 times during their dark hours, trying to simulate what would happen with an outdoor grow after the sun went down, the wind still blows and provides additional fresh air

I have a couple plants where some of the lower fan leaf nodes are almost as big as the plant.

I been hopeing that the plants turns out to be a ladies so I can take some clone's from them.

I took the taller plants and moved them to the outside of the grow area and took the smaller plants and placed them in the middle hoping they will get a bit more light and catch up in height in the next week

I have a 24" Box Fan that runs when the lights are on to cool the grow area (2x4x6 wooden grow box with open front)

Flowering: Week 2 Day 2

Another pic showing how nice the SOG and the nodes are looking, its hard to see but what looks like hairs are growing out the side of the node

The back row is rangeing from 17" to 19" from soil to the top of the stems

The front row has been a little slow and rangeing around 13"

The back row has almost doubled in size since I went to 12/12 11 days ago

I have a feeling the back row is Sativa and the front row might be Indica due to the sizes

Sorry, the pics was to show how well the grow was doing.

The tiny hairs right now are green and not white so I figure they are just more nodes coming in and not suppose to be to identify as females just yet.

Hopefully within the next 2 weeks they will start to show male or female traits (I keep looking and can't see any balls so I keep wishing for all females)

The container was bought at Home Depot. I bought this as a single item for around $18.00 and not the 4 pack http://www.homedepot...catalogId=10053

The grow box itself is made from wood and is 2' deep x 4' wide x 6' tall

The plastic container fits in the bottom.

I did have a special Stainless Steel drip tray made to fit into the box too but have yet to go pick it up. Once I get the SS Tray it will fit better in the wooden box and I am gonna take the plastic one back to Home Depot for a refund I keep reciepts

The container currently holds 8 two gallon pots with little room to move around, The new SS Drip tray will let me add 2 more (I hope)

The suspense is part of the thrill in a bag seed grow.

The initial seeds was collected over a period of about a year and could be anything.

I got to construct another 2x2x4 box just to be able to take 2 to 4 clones and keep them as mothers in a constant veg mode 24/7.

I been thinking of a small grow tent for the clones and/or mothers but have not made any decisions yet
