Six plants going for a medical marijuana grow.

The strain is Ice, and it produces some really nice smoke.

A few changes from the last grow.

1) No Miracle Grow Dirt!!!!

I bought some good dirt from a local hydro shop, and am very happy with the properties so far.

2) Using smart pots (14 gallon), as opposed to 12 gallon totes in the last grow. Raised the plants in a 6 gallon smart pot and then transplanted to the 14 gallon. I like th performance of the smart pot to date.

3) New Screen. I went longer and narrower with a 8'x4' screen. I also spread out the 2 1000W lights to account for a different screen configuration.

Narrower screen will make it easier to train and reach all areas of the canopy.

4) Built a platform to collect runoff from all plants, which drains to a gutter which I can easily pump out. Much easier than the last system using drain pans.

Also built a water system to pump water to all 6 plants at once, watering takes too long with these big 14 gal pots.

Only bad thing is they have spider mites, and have been treating them with weekly sulfur sprayings. I am going to step up the battle though, any recommendations?

I probably pulled 1.5-2 lbs outta the last screen.

Unfortunately I really haven't been able to weight anything yet. I was able to get everything chopped, initially cured and in jars, and then I had to leave town for 3 weeks for work.

Sucks cause I just have to have fond thoughts of my little jars waiting for me to get home and keep them company.

My girlfriend is keeping them going in the meantime, and by the time I get back it should be about time to flower. I'm pretty excited about this grow with good dirt, should be wuite a bit better this time.

Thanks for checkin out the grow

hey there i want to ask you sth
you know that summer is comming and i was wondering
if i can leave the plants alone...

i have a free space 1m x 0.8m
i want to grow some plants (i think icecream)
ill leave them for 40 days alone with autowatering
is that possible??
i can do it and 20(away)-3(near)-20(away) (to put the light higher)
if i use a method like scrog can i do it??
or just dont try it?

Back from a long trip, but the girlfriend did a great job keeping them going while I was gone!!

So my current problem is that I have a mite infestation going. Since getting back, I have done the following:

-watered with pH adjusted water
-trimmed all the lower vegetation from underneath the scrog canopy

Yesterday I fogged the plants with bifenthrin aerosol can, and also gassed with about 10,000 ppm CO2 twice yesterday. Today I saw nothing but dead mites, not a single live one crawling around.

I will continue treatments with various methods and gassing every 3-4 days for the next 1.5 weeks. The mites need to go prior to start of flowering!

My SCROG screen is pretty full, with about 80-85% coverage, but it could be denser after I trimmed out under the canopy.

Questions:

1. Just wondering if you think waiting another 1.5 weeks will result in an overgrown screen.

2. Should I top everything to slow everything down to treat the mites?

Thanks

Do all you can to rid yourself of those mites, now. I would say that you should have started 12/12 a couple of weeks ago, or 1 to 1.5 weeks ago. I would just kill the mites and flip the switch ASAP. Other than that, it looks good man.

Allrighty then, I'll start 12/12 right away.

Should I consider trimming some of the smaller stuff off to give the major ends a chance to grow back through the middle of the screen area??

How are those light movers working out?

Day 15 of flower.

Continuing to train. Mites look dead.

Pretty happy with how things are going. I wish the screen was a little more dense on the far side, but considering the mites and having to leave for a period of time, I'm pretty happy with how things are looking.

I'll stop training in a few days and let them go. Probably going to give them a bit of a flush this weekend, as they haven't had a good flushing yet.

All the new growth looks great, and have a nice number of juicy bud sites.

Still adding CO2.

Going to add a light moving rail this weekend as well

Thanks Prpl!

Day 19 of flower.

Gave them a pH adjusted flushing with about 30 gallons of water this AM, which is about 5 gallons per plant, not a flushing technically. Ok, maybe it was just a good watering.

Overall I am still pleased with where I'm at. I think the screen isn't as dense as I would have liked, but I'm certainly not going to complain about where I'm sitting now compared to the last grow. All the new growth since the mite battle looks healthy and vigorous.

I changed out a CO2 tank yesterday that was empty for 2 days, and that stuff makes such a visible difference on the plants. It really is the difference between a chubby and good solid morning wood

Anyway, the last pic shows the area of the screen that is lacking some density. I suppose I could have waited another week but I've seen some overgrown screens and they look like a lot to handle.

Man, looks great and glad to hear the mites are under control. Nice Scrog. I was going to ask how much extra is ur electric bill with the 2 1000W bulbs. I am currently looking at a very similiar setup and kinda wanted an idea of what to expect as far as energy cost. Thanks bro.

With fans, AC, and all I'm probably using about 80$/month ballpark.

Day 20 of flowering.

These pics are without the HPS lights on. They are getting bigger every day!

2 of the plants are a little light green in color and could probably use a little nitrogen boost. I will give them another feeding in about 3-4 days.
