Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

Plants look nice and healthy. Just curious how you have your exhaust set up. Are you pulling air from the reflector into the tent or out of the tent? If you are pulling air out, then you should have that carbon filter hooked up to the other end of the reflector, so the air goes through the filter, into the relfector, then through the fan and out of the tent. If not it's going to smell real soon. Other then that, you have a sweet set up. I'm jelous. I'll be tuning in for this.

Yea, but he also has 2 canfans, one connected to the carbon filter at the top of the tent, the second one connected to the reflector, with the piping going out the front of the cab, without a filter. That is my only concern

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

In regards to the fan issue, I have 2 4" fans. One is used to intake air from outside the tent and into the hood to cool the bulb. The second is for the remaining air in the tent to be sucked through the charcoal filter and exhausted outside the tent. It works very well. I'm only growing in 104 cubic feet. Those fans are both good for 170cfm. I have no issues with temperature, especially with that heat shield on the reflector. I only have a humidity issue. I need to increase the humidity by about 30-35%.

I think I'm going to let them grow another week and I'll put them into flower.

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

I've decided to upload some hi-res pictures of the plants for you guys. This is day 4 of being in the grow tent under an 18/6 light schedule. They're getting about a gallon of water every 5 days. I always mix in some Fox Farms' Grow Big, which is 3 tsp. per gallon.

The G13 plants are displaying the classic signs of the Indica strain with the huge, broad fan leaves. The Blackberry plants are the Sativa, with their narrower thinner leaves. I had some guys following along that were inquiring about the Blackberry plants, so here's some good shots of them around week 6. Enjoy some plant pron!

The following 4 are the Blackberry plants:

The following 3 are the G13 plants:

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

You are growing TWO blackberries!? PERFECT!

I want you to do an experiment... lol

If you grow blackberry in normal temperatures you're supposed to get light purple/green buds

if you switch the temperature to 40-50degrees Fahrenheit for the last 2-3 weeks, the buds will become DEEP purple.

I want you to do one of each since you have two. If you could I would REALLY appreciate it. Blackberry is the next strain I am growing and I want to know if this is true or a myth.

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

Actually, I'm growing THREE Blackberries. In one of the pots I have, there's two plants. I guess when my friend cloned them, he accidentally put two plants in one pot in case one died.

So far so good guys, I know I haven't updated you in a while with anything, but during the Veg state, there's not much to say other than "I got another set of leaves today!", or "My plant grew three inches since last week!".

I don't know if you guys remember, but I said in one of my first posts that I didn't think that the smaller runt Blackberry plant was going to make it, but it made a complete recovery! That plant was just a stem with two leaves on it when I got it, and look at it now!

I think what I'm going to do is let them Veg until the 1st of November, then put them into flower.

Two Blackberry Plants, One Pot:

G13 on the Left, Blackberry on the Right:

I would totally do that my friend, but that would jeopardize my G13 plants, and I don't want to ruin a harvest to see the colors of a bud turn from purple to deep purple

I've seen pictures of the Blackberry plant in full bloom and believe me, I can't wait to see how mine turn out! There's a thread on this forum in the Medical Marijuana section that has a guy showing pictures of the medical grade stuff he picked up at a dispensary, and one of those pictures he shows a Blackberry nug [post #14]. This thing is just COVERED in trichomes!

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

the ting is that, those pics you've seen are of plants that have had the temps turned down.

I've talked to people who've grown blackberry. theyve sent me pics of the plant and the final product and the nugs are green. they have a little hint of purple in them. I want mine to look like the plants in the pics on the seedbanks which is why i'm going to turn the temps down for the last 2 weeks at night, Im starting my blackberry dro grow in a week or 2. We should compare our nugs at the end since they will be ready pretty close to on another,

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

Well, since I have three plants, what I'll do is take one of the pots out of the grow tent for the last 2 weeks and let them get natural sunlight. It would also remove them from that warm, humid environment. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I'm actually quite sure that the girls are ready to go into flower. One of my plants has started developing its first set of 7-bladed leaves!

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry [with pictures]

Dude, these girls are going to grow massive! I've decided to put them into flower starting tomorrow, so tonight is their last night of 18/6. Tomorrow when they wake up, their bulb will be a HPS and they'll go to bed 6 hours earlier.

This is their last night of vegetative growth, so her are some final pictures. I'll update at least once a week now that they're going into flower.

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry- NOW FLOWERING! [with pictures]

I made a couple of adjustments for the girls going into flower...

I raised the light about 4 inches, which should give them a little bit of room to grow with.

I also extended the ducting going from the intake fan into the hood, because as I was raising the light, the ducting was getting shorter. I also added an additional piece of ducting from the intake portion of the fan to the outside of the tent via a factory hole in the tent, pics to come.

I also topped off one node on each plant to see if I can get them to produce two buds at the site, so more to come on that.

I did alot of general maintenance, like cleaning the dying leaves, or trimming the fa leaves and lower branches that weren't getting much light or wouldn't produce bud.

I checked all the pH, moisture levels, light visibility, and fertility of the soil on all the plants, and they're all exactly where they need to be.

I'm on my way to pick up my reverse osmosis water filter. I'll post some pictures very shortly!

Re: First Time Grower: G13 and Blackberry- NOW FLOWERING! [with pictures]

verrrrrrrrrry nice setup, love it..
one thing, dont you think you'll need the extra space on the floor where your fan is lying?
also 2 plants in one pot??
you sure thats not gonna stunt your yield a little?
either way they are beautiful
good job =)
