Not much posted about this source/strain so here we go. Following IMgreen's excellent journal methodology wise and otherwise, I think...

Seedlings popped yesterday. 4 out of 4!

400w MH for about 30 days in 16 oz plastic cups now, 70% FFOF/ 30% Perlite. Prolly 400w or 600w HPS, after that, one or the other, and screw the "conversion bulbs"! lol That's a road with a dead end to me cost wise, long term.

Still deciding.

A little "leggy" but growing. On day two I put the cups inside another cup with the bottom cut out so It's just a sleeve over the actual cup for extra opaqueness and firmness of the overall "pot".

Pics at one week in a few days.

Day eight from sprouting in the soil. A little stretched (went to 16" under the MH at day 5 and they "locked on" to the light then, awesome to witness! Looking good.

Baby pics! LOL Yeah, I didn't want to but they're my gurls.

I took them out for a family shot during "lights out". Under light they're a LOT more perky.

Seedsman: White Widow Femenized via the TUDE

Light: 400w Metal Halide

Soil: 70% FFOF/30% Perlite

Water: Distilled

Hope to run that for a few weeks and then transplant into 3 gallon pots with fresh FFOF

Almost the end of day 11 from sprouting. The gurls are really taking off now.

Thanks for stopping by. elitenoobuk! You can't see it from my last pic but from the second leaf set on up they're practically at a 45 degree angle upwards towards the light and "locked on"

I'm blown away that I can see the fifth leaf set at day 12 from sprouting, tiny, but visible.

Set Up: Spare bedroom. The light is literally hanging in the middle of it. Central heat and AC and that room has a return air vent in it.

Temps: 75F on the thermostat and around 82F during "lights on" at 18/6. Drops down to about 76F during "lights out".

Circulation: Cheapo Walmart Massey fan about 9" diameter (3 speed - fixed, not oscillating). Set at about 4' away and blowing right over the tops of the plants, 24/7.

Water: Distilled about every three days till runoff when the cups feel light.

Nutes: None yet but I have Flora Nova Bloom and unsulphured Molasses on stand by.

Day 14 from sprouting (two weeks).

I posted this on John's journal and it probably belongs on mine too, so...

This is my third grow. The first two were bagseed and I used "Jeorge's Step by Step Guide to Young Seedlings" which is as follows...

Week One:
400w HID placed 24-30 inches above tender plants

Week Two:
400w HID placed 24-30 inches above tender plants

Week Three:
400w HID placed 24 inches above plants

Week Four: (First Week of Flowering)
400w HID placed 18 inches above plants

What's wrong with that picture? lol Yeah, I got a severe amount of stretch. loI I didn't catch it really because as soon as my seedlings popped I put them outdoors for a few days so I didn't get the initial stretch and just chalked up the rest of the stretch (indoors) in vegging as being lanky sativa.

This time I popped them under 400w MH at about that same distance range and they stretched big time but I corrected that on day five and moved the light to about 16 inches where they've been ever since and look pretty tight now. I'm glad that happened really because I'm now about a full nine inches or better closer to the light than I've been before in vegging.

I can see where my lighting set up looks like overkill for four plants, and it is. lol This is more of a test run really, hence, 4 plants this time. I'm usually inclined to go overboard the other way with too many plants. lol ; )
