Harvest every month (soil grow)

Just thought i'd make a thread and show my new grow op.

I have another soil grow op, which is half the size of this one, but it basically entails the same routine.

Seedling are vegged for 4 weeks, then topped and pot into flowering.
The first 4 weeks of flowering, the plant will be flowered in one section of the flowering room.
Then moved to another section of the flowerroom, for the reminder 4 weeks of flowering.
Every 4 weeks i will be germinating (feminized) seeds, and also having a harvest.
Everything moves in rotation every 4 weeks.

I have converted a barn shed into a grow op. It is more or less now sealled other that the tin roof, where air can come in and escape. Inside i built a flower room and veg room, and supplied it with 30 amps electric.

Vegroom

This is the vegroom, the interier diamentions are 6' x 6' and 7' high.
The shelf is 1 foot up of the ground, and measures 6' x 3.5'.
The room is sealled, other than the air intake and exhaust.
The air is exhausted thru a 4' carbon filter, and has a passive intake (no fan).

I have yet to cover the walls in mylar.

I germinate 40 seeds (paper towel method), after the taproot is around half an inch (10mm), i put them in Jiffy pellets, and keep them for around 5 days under a CFL, which is under that fan. I get rid of any stragglers, and then put them in 100mm square pots, and under a 400w MH (which you see them under now). When they fill out in those pots, i transplant them into deep pots which are 6" square ate the top, and under a 600w HPS and veg them the rest of the 4 weeks. I will top them and keep the best 30 plants for flowering. At the minute, have 33 plants flowering in the flowering room, but i think it's going to get too crowded, so i'm going to reduce the numbers.

Hey John!

Nice ta see ya in the grow journals! You've given me plenty of chuckles in the Absolute Beginner's section! I like what you have going on there - I am doing something similar, but on a MUCH smaller scale!

I'll be keeping an eye on this one!

Flowering Room
The flowerroom interier diamentions are 13' x 10' and 7' high.
The shelves are 1' from the floor and are 13' x 3.5' each side .
The room is sealled, other than the air intake and exhaust.
The air is exhausted thru a 6' carbon filter (will be replaced with a 10' kit when i move the new girls in).
For the air intake, i have sealled (air tight) quarter of the shed tin roof, making a kind of an attic. I suck fresh air into my growroom from there. Works a treat.

I have the walls lined with that diamond mylar, i find it is better than the flat mylar that i have in my other grow ops.

Outside flowering room.jpg
View thru door of flower room
Week 1-4 flowering.jpg
Left hand side of flower room, for the first 4 week stage of flowering, i will have the plant under 4x 400w HPS as i may electric problems
Week 5-8 flowering.jpg
Right hand side of flower room, for the last 4 weeks of flowering, under 4x 600w HPS
Left half of grow.jpg
This is one half of the grow
Right half of grow.jpg
and this is the other half of the grow, these plant are flowering near 2 weeks now
Canopy view.jpg
This is the canopy, they are nice and uniform, all the same height
Diamond mylar.jpg
This diamond mylar, IMO i think it's the ticket.
Exhaust.jpg
This is the exhause system, the fan controller is up full blast on this, and the intake is at the 3 quarter level. Through that dooor, you can see the veg room on the right, and a table on the left

Re: Harvest every month (soil grow)

why not grow a mother and clone the heck out of it rather than starting with fem seeds every time?

Paper towel method works fine for me, it is something i am comfortable with and have confidence in, other people may swear by other methods, but if you leave the seeds alone in a dark, warm and moist place they should germinate no matter what method you use.
Now, if you get bad seeds from a bad breeder, obviously they're not going to germinate. So, try not to bash the paper towel method before giving it a chance.
Gluck, and hope everything works out for you.

I have nothing against cloning, i've done it before.
I can see the advantage cloning for a SOG style grow op. But, i find that plants grown from seed make a far better plant, good structure going into flowering, with clones they will have alternating node going into flowering, meaning that they wont be as bushy, and have less branches for colas (obviously plants at the same height).

And i use feminized seeds because they are handy for me, save me rooting out males and all that shit.
Think of it, how much is an ounce of good weed, and then think of how much 40 feminized seeds are, i can say much more than that, if you know what i mean

Re: Harvest every month (soil grow)

Feeding.
I feed the young seedling by jug, and then when they are in the 6' pots i use a lance and pump.
I feed the flowering plant with the lance, it is a 2000lph pump, with a hose and a lance attached to the end. I got this idea from the Youtube clip.
It is so simple, i make up a batch of nutrient solution, at the minute, 3 quarter full of this barrel does the 33 flowering plants every other watering, i pH it, drop the pump into the barrel and in 15 minutes your done.

Nute supply (2).jpg
Barrel cut in half, nute pump, hose and lance

Works table
This 6' x 4' table saves my poor back when transplanting plants.
Table.jpg

I will post more photos every week or so, as i am now uploading these from a friends computer (for obvious reasons).

You can make this to any scale you like, and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to manage this grow, producing a harvest every month.

If you have any questions, fire away.

EDIT: Next photos on page 4

Cheers dred, i'm a bit chuffed with this op, as my other soil op is a bit cramped for space.
Yeah, they are a good strain, and don't grow much further than 3 or 3.5 foot in height when topped and switched to flowering after 4 weeks veg (well, they better not, or i'm in trouble lol)
