Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

hey whats up my man , the smell is starting to reach its most intense smell
I just went to my plant and put my hand around the one main cola to check everything out and my whole hand was sticky and completely reeked haha , but i love it

Somebody told me that he uses molasses from week 4 through 7 on a 9 week flowering period, so im gonna start to use it evertime i feed and water, its called grandmas unsulphered molasses and its fuckin sticky haha

The plant is doing so well , the leaves that are not getting any light on the inside of the plant are all yellow cuz no light, so i just take those off
i was thinking about cuttin some leaves off for more light distribution, but the plant is doing good so i dont have to
Yeah the trichs are all over , i cant wait till they start changin over to red or orange hairs
ok man more pics in a day or so , peace

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

Hey Ed I only took off some leaves on mine because my cabinet is so small. But you have a totally perfect setup for a single plant and can distribute your light way better than mine.

I wonder if leafing a little bit during flowering doesn't tell the plants to hurry up. And it makes them prettier to look at
Also heard it's good to slap the bitches around and gently abuse them at this stage.

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

yeah takin leaves off isnt good, unless its 50 percent dead
your fan leaves are like solar panels for the plant, they make the plant healthier and easier to grow, so i dont like to cut leaves off
i dont know if leafing a little will tell the plant to hurry up , i dont think it would
i know its gonna take a while to harvest and manicure it
the blue cheese took 4 hours and that was with my buddy helpin

and this time im doin it myself so im prolly gonna be doin it all day
i wanna buy a nice pair of garden sheers so it will be comfy on my hand
your gonna love choppin your plants down , its so fun at first to cut all the leaves off but it starts to suck eventually haha, but it has to be done you know
ok man peace, good luck with your babies

Lookin forward to seeing more pics, currently contemplating doing soil instead of hydro. Everything is ready to go, just waiting on the seed to germ. Height constraints are slowly swaying my decision... Any idea what size pot is best?

the smaller leaves near the buds are almost completely covered with crystals

Then i took a nerve pill and smoked a bunch of weed, as soon as i started smokin my fever went away, and i felt completely fine by the end of the night

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

hey buthidae heres some more pics for everyone to enjoy haha
yeah if its your first grow you should def. do soil not hydro, like i said in your post, hydro makes plants grow faster but its just easier and you will get higher from dirt grows in my opinion, do a little grow in a 6 litre pot, i use an 8 litre pot but if you use a 6 litre the plant will most likely be smaller
also what you can do easily is just to train it , low stress training, just google it , its a pretty easy method because you can make the plant pretty much as big or small as you want kind of
peace man

Those buds look great so far, have you counted the sites yet?

Think I'm going to stick with the hydro for this one, only because of the reduction in height. I've been planning to train in either case, but being that this is my first time trying to train, I'm worried that I wont have it down well enough to keep the plant as short as I want to and still get the spread out of it.

That being said, I am going to try soil for the next one, just to see if I can tell the difference. After this, I'll determine which is my preffered method.

My ultimate goal would be to keep it around six inches, and have it fill the entire length and width of the dresser, then flower, lol. The way I look at it, even if I spend a few extra weeks vegging, I should be able to increase my yeild enough that I'll come out ahead (If we consider time spent for grow compared to total weight).

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

thanks man im lovin how the buds are lookin, did you see the deformed bud??
theres around 11 main sites, thats 5 more main sites than my last grow the blue cheese.

Yeah stick with hydro cuz it sounds like you know what your doin, so go for it man.
Training is actually really easy man, all you have to do is bend the stem down and use something to hold it down, then that will start growing up again towards the light, after it does that tie it down again, but you might want to google it cuz i dont wanna give you fucked up advice haha

I think you would prolly like hydro better cuz your doin your first grow hydro and if the grow turns out to be a success than you would prolly stick with soil. I never did hydro before but i would like to, just not enough money

I veg for around 27 days, i dont know why 27 but veg for about a month, and you will easily be able to keep your plant six inches just learn about training and you will be good. ok man peace

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

Thanks a lot for the advice, I'll give it my best and see what we come out with.

Eleven sites is very nice, especially if you're up from six on your last one.
You have any estimates based on last yeild what this one might be, or are you not getting your hopes up too high yet, lol?

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

hey buddy, no problem i like helpin ppl out because ppl helped me out on here when i first started growing
yeah i like the 11 sites but im not gonna like harvesting it, its gonna take forever to cut all the leaves off
I think the yield should def be over 2 ounces because my blue cheese i got an ounce and a half, so i dont see why i wouldnt get more than 2 ounces.

Anybody think i should do the 24 hours of darkness before harvest, i heard of it but i dont think it would make a difference at all, its only 24 hours and the plant wont change that much in that amount of time, i might be wrong but it makes sense to me

and also, do a lot of you guys do the paper bag method when drying, because my buds dryed way to fast on the blue cheese, it only took like 2 or 3 days to dry
so it burned very fast and the buds werent dense at all
so i really need to get the drying part of this down, so help would be appreciated
peace

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

Hey edward,

Your plant looks superb man. Great example of the power of CFL/soil growing. I bet all your eleven main sites will have massive buds.

Wish I could help you about the drying/curing. I'm gonna learn from you. From what I've read, there should be some amount of moisture left even after 3 days hanging. Any residual moisture is later managed by keeping buds in a jar and opening/closing the jar to get moisture off the surface of the buds. But maybe the 3-day rule depends on having 50% humidity where you're drying it, and other factors like what strain it is and how you manicure it.

I'd like to thank you again, and buthidae too, for helping me along with my grow. You've given me a lot of good feedback and ideas for my next grow

Re: 1st Journal, Big Buddha Cheese

hey man whats happenin
thank you for your kind words, they are appreciated
and i hope all 11 will have massive buds haha

i think what happened was with my last grow when i was harvesting it i didnt put huge buds in to dry, i would cut them in half or so and then dry
this caused them to dry faster, therefore resulting in a faster smoke

this time im gonna do things different , im gonna really try to get the temp low cuz i think that this strain will be better than the blue cheese, but im gonna have to wait and see
at the end of my grows i do a budkini on my girl so all you guys can enjoy, i dont show her face of course but she does wear a nice budkini
so next budkini pics will be in about 3 to 4 weeks, peace
