White Rhino/Jamican Skunk/BBxHaze 400w Hps-Continuous Grow

Hi good folks at G.C. I will re-introduce myself to everyone, especially to those who don’t know me, or to those with whom I possibly got off on the wrong foot. I am located in the Caribbean, where it is almost 12/12 all year around with the shortest day cycles being 11.5hrs. I am growing indoors for now, and from time to time, I update with pics from some outdoor plants grown by some buddies of mine. I plan on doing a weekly update of the strains I plan on growing. Since I am limited to purchasing nutrients and plant food from local garden supply shops, which is limited. I will list the nutes I am gonna be using to grow the following strains.

For my first grow I did CFL’s and it was not too bad, it definitely encouraged me to purchase a 400W HPS for future grow operations. I grew from bag-seed ranging from beasters to just plain potent skunky stuff. Not big on names where we are because everyone plants a bunch of hybrid shit, and very few planters can say they have a specific strain, but there are those who do. Well starting in late January 2009 I germed some seeds I had saved from some pretty good weed, and I have been blazing for almost a decade, so my taste buds are well inclined, and I need some potent stuff for my medication.

U can check my first grow journal here and see what happened, and I am sure u can see how everything came together starting from a couple of cfls with tin foil-haha. I did manage to get my hands on some seeds from high grade herb which the local planter said is high in haze genetics, and said he based his strain on 6 years of inbreeding purple haze, Jamaican skunk, and some other secret genetics(won’t mention) to his genetic line of high grade herbs.

There are currently about 4 phenotypes within his strain. So far some plants grow buds that are very hazy, resinous with pretty colors and lots of stigmas, and other times, no stigmas just pure meat very indica like. So there is a nice variety, but all have a haze flavor somewhere in it along with some fruity overtones from I am sure some mixes with some local sativas. The high is definitely an up fast hitting head high. Smoke too much and you would take a nap though. U can check out some pics from these plants here.

I currently have my grow room set up into 2 sections a very small vegging chamber about 2.5 feet squared, with reflective material, 1 pc fan, and 7-26w daylight 6500k cfls. In the flowering chamber its 4.5 feet x 3.5feet x 6.5feet high. 1 120mm pc fan venting air outside, in alignment with the gowlight 400w hps, for side lighting I have three 35w 2700k cfls, and 1 t5, 10,000 lumens. And 1 huge 24” fan blowing air in and around the plants. So that’s approx, 72,950 lumens total output. I guess that’s decent to get some good bud.

I also have approx 4 strains growing at the moment. I have a Bluebery haze from Docs, local grower at 6 weeks into flower. I also have a lime green x Jamaican skunk at 6 weeks into flower. I have 2 other strains which I created from my own experimenting of a skunky mother crossed with a BBxHaze which went hermie, very slight though(only had a couple of male flowers along stem, not on any branches, until late into flower. Any ways one of them showed sex today, and I am very interested, since the mother is a very dense budded and short indica-the lime green. Already at 2.5 weeks in the flowering room I see the traits of the bbxhaze mother/father. Branching out way more than her indica mother ever did. Well enough of that, besides my own personal experiments, I have went out and purchased some white rhino from GHS. I smoked that shit back in NY back in like 97, and that was the only time, those days we were smoking purple haze, and lots of different real skunks and afghani, not to mention a of Jamaican and Cambodian bud. So I thought I would do a journal on it as a comparison to fellow growers of the same strain here on G.C., since my geographic location is different and I would be using different nutes and soil mixes. So it should be interesting. I hatch my shells in pro-mix in a 50pack cd case cover, with some plastic wrap on the top with a couple of holes in it. Keep the soil moist and the humidity rises stay warm and seed hatch. Works great for me.

Water: 100 percent mountain spring water, I make sure and drive and get water every week and a half. It’s the best ever, very alkaline. PH always around 6-7. The plants love this more than any water I have ever given them.
Soil mix: Pro-mix/sharpsand/manure/bagass.
Nutrients: Seedlings and Vegging ----Bio Energy Liquid (containing seaweed) Liquid Organic Nitrogen based on Amino Acids (N) w/v 8.82%. Organic Carbon © Biologic Origin w/v 29.48%.
Promotes larger root mass, higher yields, superior taste, colour, quality and shelf life. 5 teaspoons per gallon of water.

Nutrients: FLOWERING ------Bio Energy Liquid, Miller Nutrient Express 4-41-27 1/8th strength. Bat Guano.
Vegging Chamber:- 2xWhite Rhino, 3x Jamaican Skunk.
White Rhino 1 germinated on 7-23-2009, transplanted on 8-4-2009
Jamaican skunk (purplestalk) germinated on 8-7-2009, transplanted on 8-17-2009
Jamcian skunk 2 and 3 germinated on 8-12-2009
W.R.2 germed and popped into the world on 8-14-2009

Flowering Chamber:-
BBxHaze – began flowering since 7-4-2009(into 6 weeks of flowering now), expecting to finish in about 5-6weeks, after all it is a haze dominant strain.
LimeGreen X Jamaican xskunk – began flowering since 7-10-2009, expecting to finish any day now to the next 2 weeks max. This is a F1 cross as well. My microscope will be here by Friday, can’t wait to view some trichs. Total of 21” tall, she didn’t even make it to 2 feet, indica dominant strain.
BBxHaze x LimeGreen- (F1)in flower room on 7-29-2009, showed sex on 8-17-2009, just a little over 2 weeks. Right now, just shooting side branches, flowering will commence some time within the next 2 weeks I am guessing.
BBxSkunk – (F1) in flower room on 7-29-2009, showed sex on 8-18-2009. We’ll see what she does, recovering from some serious issues, not sure exactly what it is, but leaves seem to be drying out, and just wilting on the edges. No sign of bugs. Been giving ph up water and have been seeing signs of improvement. But I love her smell.
BBxHaze- in flower room on 8-11-2009. From seed no veg time, these guys get really tall.
So far all my crosses with the pollen from blueberryxhaze hermie, with my female plants from my first grow have so far shown female sex from the couple seeds I planted. I like that, hopefully none of them hermie out on me .

So for now I have a continuous grow, and we’ll see how thing turn out, I know it probably was a long read, but I am trying to be as detailed as possible, please feel free to give any advice that may help my grow in any way.

Goals from this grow:
1) Harvest minimum 1.2 Oz smoke from BBxHaze
2) Harvest minimum 3 OZ’s of smoke from W.R.
3) Create a mother plant from second W.R., and make some clone for continuous rhino production.
4) Cross W.R. (BrazilianxAfghanxIndian) x Colombian skunk / Jamaican skunk. 2 different crosses, and a possible BBxHazexWR cross as well.

Well what is a journal without pics? So here are a few of the GHS White Rhino #1 just for starters.
This is up to day 25 from seed. Boy do I hope to get some good bud off this badgirl, my first grow with ordered seeds. I only started growing in late February, so still getting all the practice I can get, so please feel free everyone to pitch in your 50cents whenever you feel like it. I am far from a pro, but with your help we could all be there soon. Well this is what you get from GHS White Rhino in just over 3 weeks! Looking to transplant in 1 more week to a 5 gallon pot. Here is a small update:

White Rhino#1 is now 1month old, and I am gonna transplant to a 4gallon pot today. Here is what she looks like now, its only been a couple of days since the last pic update indeed very bushy with a thick stem, side branching is coming along, she is now just barely 8 inches tall. Not sure if I am gonna put her in the flowering room today or in a week time. Most likely today. 1 month of veg, then flower. Soil got a flush on 8-20 as well. Got a dose of 20-20-20 black gold on 8-23.

White Rhino #2 is now 10days old, and I am gonna transplant today. Coming along nicely with very broad indica leaves, will be interesting to see the difference in phenos, and height, resin production, branching etc.

Jamaican Skunk (purple stalk) #1 is now 2 weeks old. I placed her in the flowering room on 8-23. Hopefully she is a nice girl.

Jamaican Skunk #2,#3 now 11days old, coming along nicely, they are all due for transplants today. I like to give them their first transplant at around 10-14days from seed, after the roots have developed nicely, so after the transplant they just grow so fast. (pics to come after transplant)

BBHaze is now just over 2 weeks from seed, put that in the flower room from a baby, tall mothers those guys.

Well here are my children, plants I grew from seeds of crossings I did with the BBHaze who went slight hermie on me.

Cross 1: Limegreen skunk x Jamaican skunk. (accidental, only got 2 seeds) She is already going into her 7th week of flowering. Checked some trichs yesterday, seeing some cloudy, but still got a lot of clear ones, so will give her a couple of days, before i decide to cut her.

Cross 2: Limegreen skunk x BBHaze. I crossed a BB female who went hermie with the Lime green skunk, half sister to the plant above. Day 44 from seed. Been in the flowering room since 7-28. Showed sex on 8-15

Cross 3: BBHaze x Skunk. Another female from my first grow, pollinated by same BB hermie. Day 40 from seed, Been in the flowering room since 7-28. Pungent smell. Still yet to show sex, her mother was the same way.. Hopefully the cross adds some vigor. But I am having some issues with this plant, any suggestions, I gave a good flush on 8-20.

Well its been almost an entire week since the last update.

Hi guys, well just sitting back and enjoying the ride. It's 5 days since the Rhino has been in the flower room and here are some pics of the lil girl. The soil mix I used has some organics in it such as bat manure, chicken manure and other slight mixes. After the transplant the Rhino, got some slight nute burn, but I think its nothing too devastating. All my plants usually suffer some slight nutrient burn in the early but things pick up within a week or two just a growth spurt.

I have not given her any nutes since the transplant, as soon as she shows sex, and the first set of pistils show, I will give her a dose of nutrients. I might just go all organic on this Rhino. I have learned so much in the last couple of weeks about growing organically, I have to experiment with something.

Well White Rhino#2 is 14days old now in the last pic; Little does she know, that she is a mother to be, I can't wait for her to be a big girl. Hopefully by the time W.R.#1 finishes i should have about 5 beautiful rooted clones to put in the flower room for the next grow! Well thats the plan for her, I pray that all goes great!

When I first started growing in February, I decided that not only do I want to grow for personal use, but I also plan to create my own strain based on the very best that I have around me to work with. I have seeds from 3 crosses, that I did;

For all the crosses I used the same BBHaze father. A 4 foot tall sativa dominant BlueberryHaze that went Hermie, but very slight-with sacks on the main stem alone, with the occassional bannana here and there. She was very resinous, and extremely vigorous growth, lots of orange hairs and beautiful buds. Will upload some pics but they are too big. Once I edit, won't forget to post.

Lime Green Indica mother- I did LST to her, and that grow was all under CFL, till I saw the light!

Cross#1 BBHaze x Lime Green Indica: Mother very short under 2feet tall, think dense buds, very fruity, limey smell.

Well of course here are a couple of pics of their progeny. The branching is really outstanding, as well as the height. I think its a beautiful cross;
She has the scent of the mother, just stronger with a hint of the berries. And well she is definitely taller than her mother, with lots of alternate branching, but nowhere near the height of the sativa dominant bbhaze father. I like the branching the most, especially for a plant just inches over 2feet tall. What do you guys think?

Well it was time to cut down the beautiful 21" Indica - Lime Green. I let her go till 7.5weeks flowering for the cut. Microscope showed trichs about 75% cloudy 25% clear.

I smoked a fat joint of this bud with 4 of my close friends. High came on in the eyes, then was an almost straight head high that smoothed out into a nice body relaxing vibes. Sit still for too long and get the dumb look. Flavour is very sweet mix of mint and kind of papaya. The great thing about this is the high last remarkably long. I am talking 4 hours later, and I am just kind of easing off my high. Definitely the best smoke from the couple of trees I have grown. Here are some shots of her cured bud, defnitely some candy.

The last shot is what the flowering room looks like now! Oh yeah and the BBHaze almost 9weeks, I can say she is ready! Probably cut her in a day or 2.

She has grown from 8 to 17inches in 12days. I transplanted and placed in flowering room same day. The countdown begins from now. This plant is extremely dense with the lower branches, its like they are all growing parallel and vertical against the main stem, with little to no horizontal growth.

I count flowering time as of, the first signs of sex. So week one commences from now, so about 9-10 weeks to go.
What do you guys think? Oh yeah I made some changes in what I will be feeding these girls. Got some good tea brewing right now for theses lovelies.

Well I guess we can say the Green House genetics are in full swing.

Gave her a flush yesterday, and a verylight feeding of nutes, will increase next watering. In less than a full week of flowering this plant is already starting to push some nugs!! I am really stoked at the growth spurt within the last 2.5weeks this plant went from 8 inches to 22 inches. Practically tripled her height. Well its been approx a week since she showed sex and now she is on a rampage to start swelling, I think I even see hints of white already! wish me luck as I tend to her the best I can to produce frosty nugz of goodness in the near future. This looks like the end of bagseed grows for me, this kind of performance is really amazing hands on.

Hey bloody, I really like your set up, I'm trying something pretty similair with my 400w. Since you only veg for a month, what size pots do you use for vegging? I thought I'd be able to get away with my 4x4 inchers but now I'm second guessing myself. Thanks man!

I use 6"x6" for the first 3 weeks from seed, then transplant to a 2 gallon pot, veg for about one more week. Voila!
Since I have a veg cab setup, I currently have 1 jamaican skunk I am doing LST to, about 3 weeks old now as well. I am probably gonna let her veg for about 6-8weeks to 2 before I put her to flower. Just remember bigger pots=longer veg=more bud. If I had vegged her for a month, she would have outgrew my flowering room, not to mention I would have to put her in an even bigger pot.

Posting some pics to see what I got from a blueberryhaze in 1.5gallon pot, this plant was put into 12/12 from seed, got 1.5 Oz of her dry. She got cut on Sept 2nd.

Just a small update on the White Rhino, gave her some epsom salt today 1teaspon to 1 litre and did a foilar spray just as the lights went out. The very last fan leaves were fading to a pale green almost yellow color, hope I helped the deficiency. Well I must say i am indeed impressed with the performance from this plant, she is now 25" tall almost an inch a day in height, just curious to see how much longer this stretching is gonna go for, I think up to week4 from the video I saw. I can't believe the amount of trichs I am already seeing and only on the 8th day of flower?!, especially noticeable in the last pic. Seems like some goodness in the making.

Hope you enjoy the shots, taking pics under a HPS is not too easy. But I try my best, picture taking skills should improve over the grow..hehehe Oh yeah well last 2 are of the white rhino I plan to use as a mother, she is 4weeks now, and a jamaican skunk, doing some lst, hoping she turns out to be a she! I wonder how many phenos there are to GHS White Rhino? If anyone knows please chime in. Currently feeding only molasses and pure spring water from the mountains! Yes I really do drive and go get buckets of water filled, of all water I find they love "real mountain spring water."

Hi guys well things are going ok so far. This update is for the Jamcian girls and BBHaze x Limegreen girl. I have transplanted them all to 2gallon pots.. Yesterday as the lights were about to go off, they got a nice foiliar spray with some tea i brewed for them, this should take care of deficiency's and bugs before they pop up.

Tea Mix
1cup Alalfa powder
2 teaspoons of molasses
1 treaspoons of Bat Guano
1 teaspoons of Chicken manure
1 teaspoon of Cow manure
2 teaspoon Epsom salt
2 gallons water

I can't wait to see em today, I hear great things about alalfa (overnight difference!!), see how true it is.

Jamaican girl #1 was put in the flowering room 1.5weeks ago and showed sex 4 days now. Looks to be a hermie, will keep that in check. She is about 22inches tall now, I have supercropped her 2x, she recovers like in 2 days everytime. Gave her her first feeding of Bat Guano 2 days ago.

Jamaican girl #2, doing LST to her, just put her in the flowering room about 3days now. Waiting for her to show sex, she was also topped yesterday.

BBHazexLimegreen, flowering for 24days now, not bad-, a little more leafy and bushy than I expected, but at least buds are growing. I was hoping to see more resin production on her, which I was seeing before I transplanted her 2 weeks ago. She did not show any shock after the transplant, and she is very green, well she must be having her period! moody bitch

Well next update the White Rhino and the birth of the clones!
