I got some "free" seeds with my current grow purchase that I was thinking about germing some and setting them outside. It's just this damn heat. I'd have to water every day, and there's just no way that WON'T make a trail. AND I live by an Interstate and Farm Road. I could conceal the plants, but not me getting to them.

It's not even worth the risk of trying plant off the road somewhere man. I tend to agree with you, you might be able to get em out there and get em started, but sure as you did, somebody would see you. What seeds do you have left? Are you just over that T5 light now or what? I think you should just try dirt this time man. Use your T5 again, and maybe in the dirt you'd wind up with something more managable. But, like I said before, who really cares how managable it is if it grows smoke, right? LOL later bro

So for Texas, that means a warmer and wetter winter. We will have more of the original Pineapple Expresses...Pacific cold fronts as opposed to Arctic or Canadian cold fronts. The only thing I've been trying to figure out is sunlight time. Right now we are getting a little more than 14 hours a day of sunlight. On September 21st, it will be close to 12/12 with less sunlight and more nighttime until Dec 21, which is the shortest day(daylight) of the year. If this helps anyone with suggestions, I know I would appreciate it, and probably DeeEffDubya too. I'm especially interested in strain suggestions.

Thanks,

Wait, Pineapple Express? Thought that just fake??

The Pineapple Express that I was referring to and was quoted is what a Pacific Cold Front is called. I believe this was also mentioned in my original statement.

There was a bit of pun intended but, I am sorry for ANY misunderstandings!

I only have a few seed from each of the ones I tried on this grow and the free seeds that came with them. I have no idea of the free one's strains.

I would like to grow outside. I have 40 acres, but one side is on the Interstate side and the other is on the Farm Road. The other two sides get leased out by the owners and the hunters patrol my (our) fenceline. I wish I could find more info on growing a Fall outdoor "garden".

Sorry, but no, I'm still sticking with the T5s, for a while anyway. They aren't "bad", they do a good job at maintaining temps during hot spells like we have been having. I think I will try some other strains first with the T5s before I give up on them completely. They are especially good with my heat problems. That what makes me so interested in the LED technology and where it is headed.

TT, what a lot of people don't realise (because it's not good for the LED companies) is that LED panels give off a fair amount of heat. Not from the 'bulbs' but from the current running through the circuit in the back. Just thought I'd mention it!

Hey Rahs, G13 Labs now has a strain called "Pineapple Express". I got two of them femenized, I actually just germed one a couple of days ago and put it in the dirt this morning. Keep watching my journal for info on it!

Hey Toast,
It seems to me like you could maybe veg the plants inside underneath the T5's, and maybe then move outdoors. The temps by that time in your area would have cooled significantly I would think...IDK tho I'm a noob too lol

I hope the G13 don't turn male on you. I for one am boycotting them because only 2 of the 6 femmed seeds were female. I really hope that this doesn't happen to you.

Too late, it's already happening I think. This isn't the G13 though. Maybe someone with more experience can help you.

It's hard to tell from that pic, but yeah, it might be a boy. There's a certain roundness that seems to be in there...When you can will you snap another pic of the top nodes from the side? Glad to see you're not going to freak out if it is a male!

Re: 1st Time Grow: AF Diesel Ryder, Purple Wreck, using T5's and HPS

Hey Tim,
I was looking again this morning and I'm pretty sure it's a boy. The roundness you mentioned looks much more pronounced, and at the top of the plant right around the center blossom there are like lil ball clusters, or that's what they look like to me. Also, in one shot, the one from the side, you can almost notice something that looks to me like a busted pollen sack! I took some more pics that hopefully will be a little better, I'm not sure how good the macro is on my camera though...hope they are helpful!

Re: 1st Time Grow: AF Diesel Ryder, Purple Wreck, using T5's and HPS

Perhaps. Odd. My Easy Ryders seem to have little hairs coming from some of the node areas, but who know; those may just be little leaves coming up or something. Not quite certain on that honestly, since the oldest is just 2 weeks today I think. Anywho, I'll be checking on my plants in a few minutes here as well, and I'll update my own post.
