Awesome BT thanks for stopping in, man...my lil' journal seems to be picking up steam, slowly but surely, lol...you know man I was under the impression that the stuff that was in the FF nutes was 100% organic, I guess maybe I was misled! Anyways, come back again man, and I'll be droppin' in to say what's up on your grow now, too, later!

Hey bro, just wanted to come by and help you confirm some ages. The diesel looks like it popped through on the 24th. And the pic you posted on the 31st would put it at 7 days old. She looks perfect for that age man, I'm sure your doing great. Don't stress too much, they say that paying tooo much attention to them can hurt them. Enjoy watching them grow They are really amazing plants. Another week to a week and a half we will get to see some flowers Take it easy...

Re: 1st Time Grow: AF Diesel Ryder, Purple Wreck, using T5's and HPS

Thanks Winky, come by any time dude...I'm gonna update later this afternoon, with some new pics when I get a chance. And BT, thanks again for the help with the sexing issues. I guess it's a good thing I made up a grow calender, on it, I marked the day that the first Diesel Ryder bean broke the dirt, so that'll be helpful in determining a proper age. LMAO you make a real valid point about worrying too much for the lil guys and gals, I feel like Mother Hen over here sometimes...talk to you guys here in a bit, later!

Re: 1st Time Grow: AF Diesel Ryder, Purple Wreck, using T5's and HPS

Hey guys,
I've been out of pocket really a couple of days, so here is my journal update...not really any problems to report at all...the digital thermometer has really helped with tempeture and humidity control, the environment maintains a steady temp of about 82-84 on its own. I started my kids on Big bloom this week, and I guess according to my nutreint schedule, I should start them on Grow Big like now. The Big Bloom is already doing wonders. The leaves on all plants, particularly the Purple, have just started getting fatter and fatter every day, and right now it looks like every plant will stay short and squat and bushy, just what I was going for. I think it's also worth mentioning here that I never use as much nute stuff as the bottle calls for, just have a total fear of the nutes after seeing how they can lay waste to perfectly good weed plants if overused. I think I'm going to start a couple more of the feminized beans I got today. The votes are tallied, and it looks like next up will be G13's Pineapple Express and Barney's Farm's LSD. Both should hopefully be done in time for Holiday smoke.

Also in the past couple of days, I've been "in negotiations" with someone who owns a nice chunk of land off in the woods, and I think we're gonna grow out there. This really opens a whole new diminsion for me, I mean, we now have a space, outside, where we can grow a shitload! I think the days of running out are about to be over for good We both can't wait to try the AF strains outdoors, I told my buddy we could literally grow a little army of AF plants out there, just a few here and there, and I bet we could harvest enough off one grow to last 6 months, easy. But for anybody that knows anything about growing outdoors--am I too late at this point to grow outdoors this year? Remember, here in Texas, it stays warm until damn near November. My thought process is that if I take them through the veg cycle indoors, under the T5, and then put them outside to flower, it should work. But somebody please tell me if that's not a good Idea...I wonder if they might just grow faster outside anyways in full sunlight. Well, guys, enjoy the few new pics, here they are at about 12 days...

Hey D, plants look good man, and I reckon your idea about starting the autos inside and then flowering outdoor sounds good. Just don't plant them all together in rows or anything lol! Check out Jorge Cervante's Ultimate Grow 2 if you haven't already, that has a lot of good info about growing outside.

well autos are suppose to be done in 90ish days. If you think you got 90 days of decent sun, go for it. But I still wouldn't put alot of potential bud into it this time. Better to lose a little then alot.

Ya Rahs I agree, I'm perfectly content to just wait until next season if it's too late, the beans are way too pricey to waste...

I've been looking at the seed sites for the last few days with the same idea in mind; a special, small grow for the holidays. I'm further South than you, DeeEffDubya, and my average first frost daye isn't until Dec 8. Mind you, that is an average. There is also suppose to be the start of an El Nino year, weather-wise. So for Texas, that means a warmer and wetter winter. We will have more of the original Pineapple Expresses...Pacific cold fronts as opposed to Arctic or Canadian cold fronts. The only thing I've been trying to figure out is sunlight time. Right now we are getting a little more than 14 hours a day of sunlight. On September 21st, it will be close to 12/12 with less sunlight and more nighttime until Dec 21, which is the shortest day(daylight) of the year. If this helps anyone with suggestions, I know I would appreciate it, and probably DeeEffDubya too. I'm especially interested in strain suggestions.

Thanks,

I've been lurking around in the background. I'm the same way in a real crowd...I don't talk much until you get me going. Then you can't shut me up...lol.

I got some "free" seeds with my current grow purchase that I was thinking about germing some and setting them outside. It's just this damn heat. I'd have to water every day, and there's just no way that WON'T make a trail. AND I live by an Interstate and Farm Road. I could conceal the plants, but not me getting to them.
