First grow, full stealth.

O yes, another micro grow.

I have been hesitant to contribute for fear of security compromise. Please provide constructive criticisms, or thoughts.

I have a back up of photos, so please bear with me.

In the beginning, there was mail, lots.

Supplies:
-FoxFarm ocean forest potting soil, by recommendation from City.
-PC grow box was purchased, and i think i should provide a review when possible. Suffice to say, it is quite functional.. now.
-Seeds, as you might be able to make out, they are The Joint Doctor's Easy Rider, Lowryder#2 X Ak47. 3 feminized seeds. Also by recommendation from City.
-Plastic Shoe box with duct tape partition to avoid tangling roots. Also has six roughly 5mm holes under each plant.

The plants will be watered every day, and are on a 20/4 light cycle. The case has enough room for two plants, one seed remains ungerminated. I shall grow the final seed in the entire box when my first grow has concluded.

Shown is the germination and up to the 2nd day in soil.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

Week 1-2

Forgive the time line. I prefer it for simplicity.

Here we see the growth pattern of the twins develop. As you may have seen, one plant has begun it's life slightly later by not ridding itself of its seed as swiftly, i removed it and growth continued as normal with leafs developing.

Though it seems one of my girls shall be rather squat.

Also shown is a full display of the set up and the LST rack. I am doubtful i shall use it as one girl may overtake her sister in light consumption and threaten their overall yield.

All in all, at this point i was not prepared to post as i was worried that the girls may not survive due to some factor i had not considered.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

Week 3-4

This brings us up to date.

Shown is the transfer to soft light 2700k cfl's from their 6500k counterparts, as i have begun to see pistols develop verifying my girls intentions.

At this point i have prided myself in being among those such as George Washington that have known the joy of cultivating this specie.

Throughout the beginning weeks as you can see, while the girls were under day light cfl's they have grown rather pleasingly.

Since the time the soft light have been put in, one girl, the one you would expect, has grown much taller than her sister, threatening my plans for LST.

Now this brings us to the most important part and the reason i chose to put this online, if not for anything but its documentation.

The squatter darling has begun shedding her large leaves, and begun growing tiny leaves and pistol development underneath them, without growing much in height. Though slightly out of focus i believe you can make out the small leaves.

I am suspecting her intention is to grow in a larger bud, cola pattern, perhaps like those the LR strain had procured.

Her taller sister has miner leaf shedding in her lower section as well. I suspect these all to be normal developments, but would appreciate input, or clarification.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

Looking good so far. I have no previous xperience with LR so not sure how it grows, but were the leaves that fell off in contact with the soil all this time whilst growing?

Are you using nutes?

The smaller plant is that the plain easy rider? This could be the reason for its size compared to its sister or it could be a slight mutant and just be stubby plant!

Try and get the light closer if you can to prevent streaching but if they seem ok where they are then leave it as it is.

Also may want to be careful as i see that box is clear so mold could grow on the inside inbetween teh soil and pot, look out for that.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

That's a nice set up you've got there. I want to comment on the pot though. As was previously mentioned, clear pots are not the best to use. The root system should not be exposed to light.

Other than that the growth is amazing. Keep it up!

Re: First grow, full stealth.

Both plants are LR2 X Auto Ak47. The initial leaves to wilt were touching the soil, but the following do not. Currently i have not used any nutes and was planning to keep it simple, but have you felt that their use correlates significantly better taste and high? Also, would its use assist in stemming the leaves wilting?

I will be on the lookout for mold, what type of container would you recommend for my size constraints in the future?

I am wondering if i should prune off the leaves that choose to wilt regardless? Shown is a closer look at the stunty suspect. I might add she is rougly 4 inches in height. I suspect she wishes to bud out but remain stubby, such as the final pic.

Additionally, i wish my girls to be happy, so i only hope they are able to reach the end of the flowering phase, obviously :P. As this is my initial grow, i am simply hoping that neither of these twins should cease to grow before their usual life cycle would see.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

After reading in several forums, and the sick plants section, i have ordered some nutrients for the twins. Will use Big Bloom when they come in. Until then, i hope the best for them.

Big Bloom is rather benign even if the girls don't especially need it.

Any thoughts on a nute cycle?

Re: First grow, full stealth.

As far as nutes I think I would wait, but hopefully some more advanced growers can guide you in the right direction. The reason I would say to wait is because your pretty young lady is currently devoting most of her energy to combat whatever it is she is fighting, so adding any nutrients might cause her more stress, ya dig? I don't know though, as I am not too familiar with either lr or the fox farms, although I wish I could get my hands on some.

Hope that was helpful, not just a brief rant.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

I have begun a nute regiment of 1 cup to a gallon feed every other day with water on the regular days.

I have pruned off dead leaves and things don't look worse, but only look esthetically more pleasing as a result of consolidated leaves. I'll provide something more up to date when bud development increases, or the midget grows up.

Re: First grow, full stealth.

Sup Hashville420 everything looking good... I plan on running my second grow pretty soon and was going to use the same soil as you, are you mixing that soil with perlite? and if you are whats the ratio your using soil to perlite.

Week 5-6

We're about half way through this season, and it hasn't been too bad, but i have seen some things that worry me.

The tips of the leaves seemed to have slightly lightened in color, that will need paid attention. There is light splash from the back of the case against the wall, but that hasn't been a problem, but i wish i could think of a way to eliminate it.

Also i was worried for the smell of our favorite herb offending the sociabilities of neighbors, so i invested in an odor eliminating bulb that passed the blunt test very well in my room, smell gone after about 15 mins, from when i turned it on.

In response, my soil was pre-mixed and it seems to have worked well. Also the picture earlier was a sample of a LR2 strain, its cola was rather small, but i suspect that the smaller girl will produce something like that but larger.
