2nd grow - ebb/flow, Blue Rhino, GDP

Well I'm just about finished setting up my 2nd grow. I've gone a few different directions, beginning with an aero-tube setup that was ditched until I have more $$ for a chiller and such, ultimately ending up an ebb & flow setup in my closet. I put it in my closet, rather than the 1st grow room/cab, because it's just too goddamned hot out there. Even with a window a/c temps were 90+, it worked with my first grow cuz it was over winter/spring.

I've still got to get some more small things like stuff to better hang the light, a smaller pump (my 396gph pump fills faster than the overflow drains), some flex tubing, and some chicken wire. I'm going to ScrOG this grow to fill up as much of the small area as I can.




I'll probably have 4 plants in here, a couple GrandDaddy Purp clones and one clone each from my #1 and #5 Blue Rhinos from my first grow. The grow space is ~3'x2', can't wait to have 6 sq.ft. of bud

I'll get pics of the mothers later, I'm currently trying to air-layer some clones on them. I've got two air-layered clones already rooted in rockwool cubes, one is looking better than the other so I'll probably toss the weaker one.

Finally got it all setup as far as I can tell. I put a second overflow drain line and cut holes in the pump hose because I didn't want to buy a smaller pump (396gph is PLENTY) and the tray would get dangerously close to overflowing. Now it drains as fast as it fills, and I get the added bonus of agitating/aerating/oxygenating the water because the holes in the line gush water when the pump is on. I cut 2 clones from each mother (2 GDP, 2 Blue Rhino #1, 2 BR #5) and put them in rockwool like normal. I also have some air-layering trials on the mothers, one of them is already popping out some roots and those clones are like 4x the size of the cuttings I made today. Once I actually cut the things off of the mothers they'll have already developed root systems in the rockwool and will just cut from the plant and place in the hydro tray

I'd take pics, but my fucking cat pulled my Digital Rebel off of the table and it landed on the lens and the cell phone kinda sucks

Can't wait to have a screen filled up of this stuff. If I keep the same ratio I'll have 1/3 of the screen lookin all purple and another 3rd having pink pistils. Wish I could breed the two and have purple buds with pink pistils

I fixed my camera lens no autofocus now, but at least I can manually focus it well enough

None of them have really wilted at all, since I'm home all the time now I've been keeping them nice and moist. One of them is showing some leaf yellowing finally. The clones were cut on the 21st

What really sucks is my disability is up and I'm waitin on getting my old job back. I dunno how long it's gonna be til I get another paycheck Luckily I had most of the stuff needed for this grow already.

Oh and the plant that's in the tray is one of my first air-layered clones. I dumped the other because it just wasn't looking as healthy as this one. I currently have 6 other clones air layering on the mothers, one of them has like 10 nice tops already I might just plant it as a new mother and toss the old one, so I can replant in fresh soil. But if it's bigger than the normally rooted clones by the time it's time to cut I'll probably just replace one of those cuttings with the big one. I might run out of space in my little closet though

I've got 2 GDP clones, 2 BR #5 clones, and one other BR clone that was air-layered. The air-layered clone is the one that looks more like a small shrub than a normal clone (bottom right). I got some FloraNova and the plants are lookin great. Had a little spider mite infestation, a Hot Shot NoPest strip took care of those Just today I put up the screen. Had to drop the shelf/tray down a bit, lowered the light, hopefully I'll have enough room when they flower



It's been ~a month since the clones were cut from the mothers.

Oh and those other air-layered clones, the ones that had a lot of branches, I planted the two best ones in one of the 3g square pots. I moved the GDP mother and the BR#5 into 5g buckets. I also have a plant that was grown from seed, I believe it was a BR#1. I transplanted it from the little Powerade bottle into a 3g pot. I'm going to have to figure out whether to flower the plants I have outside, or somehow get them inside. I've been back to work so I'm makin $ but still behind on bills :/ Should have spending money before it gets too late in the season. I'll get pics of those when I have a chance

i posted it on the pic, but is that a 400w hps that close to your plants? couldnt be? the light spectrum is diff than hps in the pic. Floros in that hood?...i prolly just answered my own questions. my bad.

It's 400w MH, so yeah the spectrum is indeed different (more blue). The plants are vegging, I'll switch to HPS when I flower them. I can have the light so close cuz it's not very hot at all, not with the 500cfm duct fan on it. Since the grow is in my closet I can keep the room cool so I can put the back of my hand on the glass under the bulb and it's barely uncomfortable. No fluoros in there

These are the outdoor plants

Just trained them all down yesterday. They're already going vertical again Got the revegged BR #1 and #5, GDP, seedling from #1, and two air-layered clones in one pot. I don't know yet what I'm going to do as far as flowering, I don't really want it just sitting in my yard flowering. Dunno how to secure them at this point.

Today's pic. These things are takin off, and only ~700ppm Gonna do a res change and up the ppm a little bit, see how they respond. I'm gonna start flowering as soon as the screen is full up.
