Stealth PC Grow Box Lowryder Grow

This is my second computer case grow, and my first time growing lowryder. I really have no idea how much I will yield off of these three plants, so it is going to be interesting! I'm growing in an 18" pc tower that I bought premade from www.pcgrowcase.com. I have built my own before but I got a good deal on this one and it seemed like a nice setup, and it is. The lighting consists of 4 CFLs at 6400k right now, and I will be adding one 2400k cfl per week when I determine the sex of the plants for flowering. They are already one week old, and i will be putting them in larger pots once I take out the males (if there are any). I may also seed one of the females if i get a male, just because lowryder seeds are so expensive and I want to experiment a lot with this strain. My soil consists of miracle grow moister control, and my fertilizer is flora nova grow that was part of my old hydro setup a while back. I havent added any fertilizers yet, and probably wont until i see necessary.

just ordered a pc and some seeds myself today.

You need to remove the plastic wrap from the cubes and get them lower under the dirt,
Algae will grow on them if you dont..

That's a nice looking stealth PC grow box... Is it lightproof? It looks like the fans would leak light out.

I would recommend lowering the light source to 2-3" and upgrading the 23w to 46w daylight. Target has these for ~$8 / each

Yeah i can upgrade the light source to that wattage easily, these are the bulbs that came with it, so im going to stick with it for a bit and see how it goes...i'll deff. switch when i can tell the sex. Thanks man

I have 2 roommates and I live in a 2 bedroom house. I found this place online and my roommates are anti-marijuana fundamentalist religious folks, and would report me if they found out i was growing in their house (fairly certain). They rarely ever come into my room other than to just say hello if the door is open. I did one pc case grow earlier, and really the only problem was just making sure you're not watering your plants when your door is opened and they want to say hello (common sense). Other than that the smell is very easy to control with some AC filters and odor absorbing gel. Light coming out the back of the fans is not a big deal either because they rarely come into my room and I run it during the day so the light isn't very visible. I also have a remote control to turn the entire unit off in case of an emergency, which is very handy for me especially when i run it at night.

I set the grow box under my computer desk next to my real computer also. The thing with these pc grows is YOU have to be smart and know the people your hiding it from. My roommates probably don't even know what a marijuana plant looks like, and are just mainly stupid when it comes to that stuff. The last thing they would be thinking about is me growing pot in the computer case under my desk you know? Who the fuck would think you can grow pot inside a computer case other than us stoners.

Alright there we go, finally updated it. They are growing fast. The leaves are fat compared to anything else i've grown. Going good so far looking forward to seeing signs of sex in the next 10 days or so.

Man those are looking good! Mine are seriously behind yours in growth even though they are about the same age (I'm growing AK47 lowryder though). Definitely going to have to pick up some 6500k bulbs at either home depot or target tomorrow..

I could upgrade to a cabinet or something similar, but Im mainly curious about these lowryders in this pc case. If i get a decent amount, i know i can grow anywhere with lowryder and I wont have to pay for it ever again. That my main goal.

You have inspired me man, just gutted my old computer headed to home depot tomorrow to pick up some materials. I plan on moving mine outdoors though, as soon as the weather gets a bit nicer.

This whole PC grow box thing is crazy... It's actually kind of funny because I always had the thought in the back of my mind that maybe I could grow in a PC case, because I'm a CompTIA A+ certified computer tech. I'm always inside and out of cases and have seen nearly every single type of computer chassis that exists. Also a lot of experience building machines.. Anyway, i've always shoved the idea to the side because I always had the second thought that it wouldn't be possible. Looks like I was wrong, haha.. oops

I'm VERY interested to see how the flowering stage goes. I'm a compact CFL grower myself and I have a seedling which is currently in a SOLO cup. I'm using bagseed because there's no possible way anybody can convince me to order seeds over the internet. Although, this bagseed was from some noname frosty chronic.. so I know nothing about the strain's characteristics. I plan to LST my little girl (if I end up with one), so I was thinking about trying a PC grow box myself.. Should I attempt it with a strain that is not of the Lowryders?

You can try, but IMO the lowryder strains are meant for grow boxes. I just ordered Autoflowering hindu kush seeds which grow a max 14" tall, small root space, very little branching, and is supose to get extremely dusty. I ordered them on the 11th and just got them today. Not sure why your so worried to order but to each his own.

Hey man you can grow some normal cannabis in a pc case, especially in a 24" pc server tower with an indica dominant strain. All you need is a mesh shelf so you can LST them. I did one with some bag seed a while back and it worked good, you just have to put more time, effort, and planning into it.

I don't think I'm going to try it with my current grow - just because I put so much time and effort already into constructing a LST/SCROG box, which is actually constructed out of mesh shelving as a skeleton, and the "skin" consists of emergency blankets for their reflective, and safety properties. I have 3 high flow PC fans creating a great amount of air flow in the box. The grow cab is very easy to disassemble for the most part - which is great, because I'm in the process of a DIY carbon scrubber :]

Although, If I'm patient I can get my hands on huge server towers that are literally thrown away by the dozens because they're so old. I'll be finding one shortly, and reporting back to this thread :] Free grow boxes sound great to me!

Thats a pretty cool idea....one day I'll have to try to build one of those. I'll update with some new pictures probably tomorrow, everything is growing surprisingly well. Still no signs of sex but I should start to see them within the next 7 days or so.
