newbie growlog, CFL's, soil, closet grow

This is my absolute first attempt at not only growing, but building shit too. I am following phl0ters design almost 100%.

I'm using 6 42w 2700 lumen CFL bulbs, on 24 hours with white dwarf seeds. I'll also be putting the seeds straight into soil instead of germinating before potting.

i have the day off of work and will be updating all day with pictures of the progress on my grow cab. stay tuned.

Alright guys, I will have a MAJOR pictorial update this evening.

I'm taking a quick break while the caulk dries, then i'll finish lining the inside with mylar and mix my soil. I'm actually going to have my seeds in soil tonight I think

right now I've got my cab built, the intake and exhaust are both in and working great. lined everything with weather stripping but havn't checked for light leaks yet; at this point it doesn't mater though since my first grow will be a white dwarf autoflower which will be 24 on the entire cycle.

i will be using for farms FFOF soil with perlite mixed. does anyone know off hand how much perlite to soil I should use and how much water to initially give the soil?

looked up the soil, looks like i'll be using a 75/25 mix of FFOF and perlite, as well as a small layer of perlite on the bottom of the pot.

for your intake/exhaust did you have to splice any wires im worried i might have to do that im trying to pick out and intake fan now..

yes I did, it was very very easy though.. when I put up pics you can probably see, it's soooo simple

okay, grow cab is done ( pics are coming pics are coming )

about to pot my seeds, then i'll take final pics and upload a bunch.

only things i didn't make yet are a shadow box for the intake ( only place leaking light atm ) and a carbon scrubber; i'll worry about the carbon scrubber this weekend or later this week though. not worried about my seeds reakin up the place

sick man i'll start a journal soon as well once i get my intake/exhaust system set up, right now i just have the closet door open when its too hot and the cfl on the rest of the time, i got some good seeds if you come into somethin nice we can trade up or maybe trade some clones later on

Sounds like you are taking your time to get a good setup, should be a good grow.. How many plants are you planning on?

alrighty guys, got my seeds planted! on with the pics...

first off, my seeds, medium, and nutes. i'm using FFOF 80% with perlite 20%, white dwarf autoflower seeds, and fox farm tiger shit and bloom shit

first thing i did was build my exhaust, i used an air duct thing and 2 PC fans spliced together into an AC adapter ( also spliced in the intake ) then cut holes in my cab for the exhaust and intake...

my light harness was built out of 3/4 inch PVC pipe, and elbows. all I did was make a rectangle that fit snugly inside, hung my lights, and hung the entire fixture from the ceiling of the cab.

then, i went ape shit with caulking. i'm pretty sure i used enough caulk to satisfy a porn star.

after that, i lined the cab with mylar and checked for light leaks; i was good but i need to build a shadow box for the intake since it's just open right now.

and, with that box completed i planted my seeds and gave each pot 1/2 gallon of water.

and my dog got in the way a lot.
