Seus' First CFL Cab + Grow {White Widow + Hashberry}

So I picked up an inexpensive Circular Fluoro Lamp for the top cloning area:





It holds 2 lamps - (1) 33 Watt and (1) 22 Watt Fluoro. The 22 Watt is 6400K and the 33 Watt is 3000K. So It's perfect in the fact that I get the entire spectrum within a very compact design. It sits roughly 3-4" above the clones. One thing that I REALLY like about them is that the bulbs are super inexpensive. I could switch it to all 6400K though if I wanted. I'll wait and see how this works for me first though.

I also got my shipment of bulbs in too:



You can see the size of those big 65W bulbs here:





They're a lot bigger than the itty bitty 23W bulbs from the hardware store. Unfortunately though, the weight of it made the plug come out of the socket about 5 seconds after I took that picture, and broke the bulb

That's why I did get 3 of them though. More or less they're $22 each. I'll buy another 1 when I get my Odor Eliminating bulb ordered some time in the next week or so.

In other news though, I was able to plant (2) of the Hashberry seeds in the rockwool today. Here they are under the lamp:



The lamp is going to stay off until I get my fans and can control the air flow in side of the cabinet.

Now I have only 2 more seeds, 1 White Widow and 1 Hashberry. They both look as if they'll be ready by tomorrow morning to be planted as well. At that point my germinated seeds will be 6/6

me too!!! Can't wait! Not sure what I'm going to do though, if I were to get 6/6 Females...it'd be a damn shame to not utilize them.....My goal is to have 3 females growing in there max, and each plant will have a dedicated 100W of light minimum.

I think i'm going to LST as well as SCROG them. I picked up some garden velcro that makes bending plants / supporting them really really easy. Cost a few bucks, but is worth every penny..

I will def. tell you aside from hours of research and understanding 100% the grow cycle, nothing at all compares to actually physically having your own grow....

AM Update - Just planted the remaining two seedlings. Currently I'm 6/6 with my seeds. I think if I do get a male, I may put together a small storage cabinet located next to this, and pollinate a female for more seeds...not sure yet though, have to see where our economy lands in the coming weeks.

not next to it. dont ever do that as you will ruin your whole crop. Take it somewhere else. pollen does travel bro

good point...i overlooked that...maybe what i'll do instead is get some male pollen sacks, and put them in a baggie of some sort and brush on the pollen with a paintbrush if I have just say 1 female thats in the cabinet, and i'm willing to sacrifice it to get the seeds...we'll see what happens.

looks about the size i've got. I use a 600w hps in there though. do you get any light leaks?

0 light leaks. I have this thing with rubber seals on the front edge like you'd put on a window. The seal is freakin perfect. I have 1 locking latch installed to keep the door closed. Going to add another to the top to keep it securely shut at all times. It's amazing.

I was looking at an hps, but want to do it on the cheap first and get some experience before I invest into a hps system.

In other news though, two of the WW seeds are popping out of the rockwool now I mist them in the morning just to be sure they're moist (like dew in the morning). Can anyone tell me at what point I need to have the light on in this thing? Do I wait until leaves show? or should it be on now? I attached some pics of it, my camera sucks balls at doing macro shots (POS $100 camera from 5 years ago). May invest in a new one...not sure about it yet tho. Thoughts on the lighting tho?

Also got my new Carbon Filter today!

Just waiting on my Reflectors for the bottom (have them tomorrow), as well as my fans! Where the frick are those fans! I need em soon if I need to turn that top light on.

I turned the light on about 2-3 hours ago. I can already tell they're getting much stronger....I can see two more are about to bust outta the rockwool cube too! I should see em pokin their heads out in the AM. At that point it'll be 4 down, with 2 to go...

Well, the two White Widow that are first to mature are already forming their initial leaves. The other two Hashberry have just about come up through the rockwool. Another 8-12 hours for those two and they'll be set. Will be an exciting 24 hours to say the least.

Still no fans... :/ I'm starting to get worried now....I can actually buy them at different places locally to be honest. Would prefer the ones I bought but can't get any info from the guys that I got them from...wtf.....glad I bought with credit card.

I'm planning on installing my carbon filter today, as well as doing the last few finishing touches to the cabinet.

Schedule wise, I see these little girls (hopefully) going into their final home in another 1-2 weeks...depending on growth....

edit - just got an email from the guys about the fans, it took me calling and emailing them to finally find out they have 3 out of 5 of them in stock....time to get them locally now...

I'm having trouble cooling the lower growing area down to a suitable temperature. Right now it's at 93 degrees. My goal is 78 degrees. I have a 3" fan (alone) and the 4" fan thats on the carbon scrubber putting out air and a 4" fan pulling cool air in. I have the following lights in it:





I took out two of the lights to see if it made a difference, but the temp is still hovering around 93 degrees...

Any suggestions? This is in a closet, and the other room has somewhat cooler air naturally. I'm thinking perhaps a fan inside of the closet pushing the hot air into the other room will help. Thoughts?

Btw - my cloning area hovers right at 77-78 degrees.
