I was thinking of doing 3 separate boxes instead of 1 tall one. I have just about everything and I plan on getting started in about a week.

Also, would you recommend a Plexi/Glass heat shield in the flower box, or just let the clones grow up trough the lights?

I'm starting a grow like this, but a hell of a lot smaller. It's a stealth grow, in a drawer of a cabinet. Should be pretty interesting..

How are you setting that up?
What you expecting, yield wise?

I'm expecting 3oz. minimum. I'm getting 3 y-socket(2 bulb) attachments that plug into a power-strip, and 2, 42w (6500k) cfl.(5200 lumens total for VEG) Then, at a later state.. or maybe at the same time depending on how much the other shit costs, 4, 42w(2700k) cfls(10,400lumens total in FLOWER)

I'm going to use the lst method to it's fullest potential, to increase yield up to 3x the normal size. 5oz. MAX. All from one plant.. should run pretty smoothly..

hey doc, im looking forward to the comparison! this thread has been great motivation for me. I'm planning on taking 4 clones every 2 weeks and flowering them under a 250w hps, FF Ocean Forest soil... not sure what I'm expecting to yield. I'd like to yield at least more than one ounce a month, but any excess I'm not complaining . I plan to have these plants in 4-inch pots and have 4 rows of 4. Got any advice or predictions for my situation?

Thank you for sharing your experience.I have a rubbermaid. Its all holed out,cut to fit plexiglass for lighting chamber and painted with white plastic paint.I was going to scrog, until this thread. The maid is the bigger one.I think 32"x20"measuring the floor at 18"'s tall per maid for a 36" tall together.I plan to emulate you as closely as possible. My first question is = Can I use 23 watt cfls and add more to makeup for fewer 42 watters?(23watts x 10 =230 watts) Will the penetration not be as good at the bottom? If not then 42 watters here I come. Will 6 42 wattters(252 watts) be enough for my space? I will use what you are with the 65 watt fluorex and 42 watt warm white cfl for mother.2 15 watt sewing bulbs(fluorex) and a 13 watt warm white for the clone area. So say I'm using roughly 400 watt range including mother/clone area and a few computer fans for scrubber and light area. What do I need to be off grid? What inverter combination with batteries?I'm willing to visit every day,but would like a 2 day cushion,in case something important pops up.The area I will use is waaaaaay more secure then my current place.I would rather recharge batteries and travel.I have an excuse to charge batteries as I use a troll motor to fish.Thank you for your time sir.

I searched around about the battery/inverter. I found one of your old posts and that answers that.So I need a new spot.Input on the 23 watt vs 42 watt cfl is still needed.I know I can just add up extra cfls.Do the 42 watters penetrate deeper for a "budcicle effect?
