Hey fellow tokers,

I'm not a master grower. I'm not even at an advanced stage yet. I still consider myself a novice, as I learn with each grow. Posting an online journal where I can interact with other growers, smokers, and gardeners is very beneficial to the learning process, and I even meet a few people who are local this way too!

I currently have a couple plants in the early-to-mid stage of flowering. They are:

1 RESINATOR (comes down next week - undetermined)
1 NORTHERN LIGHTS (started flowering on 17 MAR)
1 AFGHAN KUSH x BLACK DOMINA (started flowering on 27 APR)
2 VIOLATOR KUSH (clones, started flowering on 5 MAY)

I might have some people coming over from my previous thread, and so those folks are aware of my soil and watering schedule. I'm running the complete master Roots Organics 5ML program. They get flushed with clean water once a week.

My soil is a proprietary blend. It consists of Roots Organics 707, Ancient Forest, a potting soil, Kelp Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Oregonsim, Worm Castings, and Rare Earth. The soil is perfect to get through a 2-3 month vegetative cycle with just water. During the first week of flower, I start supplementing with the Roots Organics "uprising" blends (you use the 'Foundation' in combination with the 'Grow' and 'Bloom' blends).

The girls get filtered water through a Small Boy filter with a KDF-85 filter to filter out the chloramines. That crap is gross, anyway.

The flowering tent is a 4 x 4 variety outfitted with a Sun Systems 6" Magnum XXXL and a 600w Hortilux Super HPS bulb. My ballast is a Lumatek. I run my girls in 5-gallon Smart Pots.

I am posting pictures tonight when the girls wake up. I just got a new digital camera and I'm interested to see how well the HD works. Just don't make fun of the RESINATOR girl who gets cut down next week... she's seen better days :P

Quick picture update. Looks like the RESINATOR will be coming down on Friday. My camera seems to have very vibrant color that will take some time to adjust. It's turning all my whites to yellow, the saturation seems on overkill.

NORTHERN LIGHTS just started week 5.
AFGHAN KUSH x BLACK DOMINA is in week 3.
VIOLATOR KUSH plants are in week 2.

Hey guys. I trimmed the RESINATOR today. I got 8 huge buds out of her, which I currently have drying. The rest of her guts went to BHO.

I cleaned up a lot of the under growth and cut out a bunch of stuff that just wouldn't really be worth growing. I now have enough room to evenly space out my girls. The NORTHERN LIGHTS is doing great. She's a big, bushy broad. Some of the tips of her hairs are starting to turn amber.

All of the girls are doing great on this grow, due to the upgrades and a proper nutrient cycle. They seem to not disagree with the Roots Organics 5ML line, or my soil, or my water. The extra light afforded by the Magnum hood, and the cooling upgrade (but now it's getting warmer so something else may need to be done) have improved life in the grow room.

The AFGHAN KUSH x BLACK DOMINA is turning out to be a bushy girl. Her bud development is slow, but I think she's going to fill out as time goes on, her inter-nodal distance is short, so I hope to see a full terminal bud!

The two VIOLATOR KUSH clones are doing beautifully, and it's great to see them grow in a different pattern than I had with the bush. They just started to pop bud.

Enjoy the pictures!

During the daytime when the lights are off, the temperature is around 60-66 and when the light comes on, it gets to be about 70-80.

Before I rearranged my fans and ducting, and before I had the Magnum reflector, I was pulling air in from the room to cool the lamp, and exhausting that air into the room as well. Now, the fan is reversed, sucking air in from the room and exhausting it outside of the room. I also have two 4" booster fans running as intakes, pulling in fresh air from outside, where unfortunately, it's getting to be a little bit too warm...

Nice set up. The water around the Puget Sound is awesome. I'd be more worried about the crap growing in the filters. I don't drink the koolaid these filter companies are selling. If I lived in Florida it would be a different story. Our water is pure enough to need very little disinfection.

Sorry for the thread crap, you're probable in Spokane, lol. I have some girls that I think are just as cute as yours.

Actually, I'm in Olympia. I've been contemplating for quite some time the convenience of acquiring some of our Artesian Well water off 4th Ave. I just don't know how I'd keep all that water fresh, unless I had a 55 gallon barrel that I filled up with collected Olympia well water, and had an uber-pump to aerate the water...

I may have answered my own question.

Welcome to my little slice of the forum. I'll check your ladies out.

Horsefood: the VIOLATOR KUSH clones started to drop balls...

They were looking so promising, too. I don't understand how the mother was able to produce over 2.5 oz of devestating buds, but two genetically identical plants started to drop pollen sacks... I guess this means the FEMINIZED SEED I bought had parents that were transgendered, or the seed stock was old. I'm hoping it's the latter of the two. This is the second feminized seeds I've had that's hermied on me...

So now we're just down to two plants: the AFGHAN KUSH x BLACK DOMINA, and the NORTHERN LIGHTS. :(

As was I, my friend. I even had to snuff the last VK clone I had too. I have 5 AKxBD clones, so here's to hoping all goes well with those!

What really sucks is that I had a continuous cycle. I was going to be cutting down a plant every two weeks. Now that cycle is broken, and I don't know what I'm going to do for that month... I fucking hate the dispensaries...

The culprit could've been much more than the seed...light leak (Most likely), stress, and heat...to name a few.

They do look beautiful though man...I switched to Roots organic for my 2nd run...I've used their synthetic line as well as a couple RO products like extreme serene in my first run...excited to use the whole kit and see how it goes. Started them in a new soil too...promix - perlite - EWC - Dolomite - Mushroom compost...fungal soils produce the best fruits and flowers...takes to long to explain the whole soil process of mother earth, but trust me when I say you'll flip the fuck out at the results...we've been using it in other grows and its outstanding. Drop some of the 707 out of your mix and add the mushroom compost, no more than 20% per overall material as it is pretty hot...

Your grow parallel's mine in many ways...we share the same attention to the same details...

We use a Stealth RO100 for our water...gets all the sediment and rock minerals as well as chloramines (Which are definitely abundant, soil killers...) out. In addition to that we fill our reservoir one day prior to its being used and add 2 6'' air stones at full blast and let it aerate for 24 hours...double protection...you were right with your idea for the 55 gallon...its what I use...

Best of luck to you and your gardens man...definitely be checking in :smoke:

I'm pretty sure its not light leak. I've laid down in my garden with the lights off and eyes closed for 15 minutes, and found what slight ones there were and corrected them. That was months ago though. I saw in there 5 days ago with the lights off doing the same thing, and no leaks. The other two plants in my garden haven't hermied on me, so that also leads me to conclude that there's not a light leak.

I know it could have been a huge number of things, but my best guess is the old seed stock. I had that feminized VK seed for months before I germinated it.

Also, if the parents were hermies, so could its offspring. That genetic disposition has been put there by its parents. Especially in the case where a female plant is left to live past its harvest timeframe; the plant will then pollinate itself in an attempt to save its genetics (to make seed, its called Rodelization). While some say that it produces 100% feminized seeds, I don't trust it, and don't want any pollen in any room where I'm trying to grow a sinsemilla crop.

I have some Resinator x California Orange. It would take a couple crops to grow this cross to something that's of clonable/distributable quality, and while that's not very long, I don't have the resources.

Hey guys...

I'd like to ask if anybody can recommend a product for resin production in late bloom. I have lots of stuff to choose from: Grandma's Molasses (unsulfured), Humboldt Honey (Organic), and the Master Roots Organics line of products. I'm not noticing the resin development as heavy as I'd like to see it. The flowers are still about 2 weeks out on my Northern Lights plant, and another 3-4 on the AK x BD.

edit: Also, I'd like to inquire if someone can give me advice on how to fine tune for proper resin production. I am familiar with knowing that cannabis needs beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and carbohydrates, but is there a 'method to the madness' (per se)?

Here's a quick picture update. Nothing much to say. It got a little hot in here over two or three days and kinda burned the fan leaves on the NL plant. The AK x BD plant is looking marvelous, and it stinks so bad in here! Week 7 for the NL and the end of week 5 for the AK x BD. Looks like possibly 2 weeks for harvest on the NL whereas the AK x BD plant might come down at the end of next week (maybe 10 days?). She's starting to get red hairs whereas the NL is not. Enjoy the pics!

[PS]- Sorry for the lo-res pictures, but the security token isn't processing the pictures right. Something is bum on the website's end...

I have quickly come to the conclusion that this forum sucks.

I have realized that the people on here don't really care for growing cannabis. People on here want to grow weed. Everybody wants to see pictures and read the smoke reports, yet nobody wants to discuss the cultivation.

I ask simple questions that could be answered easily through a person's experience, yet, when I query a question, I get no responses and I'm put through the gauntlet for not having "searched" Google or the massive amount of information here on the forums, as if Google and this forum had the answers I was looking for. Maybe I wanted a grower's advice - not some uppity asshole who tells me to do a search then presumptuously chastises me.

I'm going to finish this grow, and build my own website. At least I know there won't be so many kids and immature adults who just want to grow weed and look at pictures. Honestly, I wouldn't have to worry about availability, reliability, or a bunch of asshole moderators or users.

Hello all,

It would appear that I will have another journal going very soon. I have a lot of great things in the works and a really great business opportunity just presented itself. Keep this in mind: everyone I am mentioning here is a medical marijuana patient in staunch compliance with RCW 69.51a.

My girlfriend's father is a well-to-do independent electrical contractor who does tons of great contracts. He's worked for DoD and has amassed himself enough scratch over his time to be completely comfortable with life. He bought my girlfriend an SLK 350 for graduation if that's an indication as to what I'm speaking about.

He just recently made an investment with a friend of his. They have 4 rooms that are completely wired with lights, climate controlled, and free filtered water. They have a dude on-site who takes care of your plants (pesticides, feeding schedule, maintenance - they do it all). It's all your plants, your nutrients, your way (kinda like Burger King but not). The investors said they'd prefer to work only with VETERANS.

Since my girlfriend's dad wired the facility, and is the best friend of the landlord/owner, and because I'm a 60% disabled veteran, I just got one of those rooms before they were ever offered, fully funded by the girlfriend's father (nutrients, soil, supplies, etc). As an RCW 69.51a compliant patient, I am allowed to have no more than 15 plants.

I am supposed to have dinner with my girlfriend's father this weekend to discuss the layout, and talk about everything I want to know, since I have a million questions. This was like some secret project he'd been working on and they just completed it, hence the "dinner date with dad".

I see some premium Sensi Seeds coming this way. I was checking out their MR. NICE G13 x HASH PLANT, NORTHERN LIGHTS #5 x HAZE, BIG BUD, PURE POWER PLANT (which is actually White Label - Sensi's sister company, more like their 'beta testing' company for new cultivars), or ED ROSENTHAL SUPER BUD.

Opinions?
