The following is a tale of my ongoing adventures in Medical Cannabis Growing. You are all welcome to join me, as each new generation of plant life enters this world, and ultimately fulfills his/her lifes goal...... To Medicate the Masses. :-)

This originally was going to be in addition to my other thread, but I am starting it over, here. A former partner moved out of state, taking with him a few pieces of equipment, so although I am working w/o some much needed items, I was, and hope to be able to adapt, improvise, and overcome.

Equipment list:

1000w Metal Halide
400w MH conversion bulb (to fit an hps balast)
Waterfarm 8 site recirculating system (modified)
Roots Organic Soil
Polar Wind fans (3)
Water Heater
Water pump
Air pumps (2)
Air stones (4)

**Hydroponic Nutrients**
PRIMARY NUTRIENTS:
FIJI Natural Artesian Water (Seedlings/Clippings)
Dyna Grow Veg (7-9-5)
Dyna Grow Bloom (3-12-6)
Dyna Grow Protekt (0-0-3)
Botanicare Clearex
SECONDARY NUTRIENTS: (used sparingly)
Dyna Grow MagPro (2-15-4)
Dyna Grow AllPro (7-7-7)
Dyna Grow Hi N pro (10-5-5)

**Soil Nutrients**
FIJI Natural Artesian Water (Seedlings/clippings)
Roots Organic Buddha Grow (2-0.5-1.5)
Roots Organic Buddha Bloom (0.5-2-1)
Roots Organic Trinity (0.1-0.5-0.25)
Roots Organic HPK (0-5-4)

GENETICS:
Bubba Kush x Critical + (4) in soil *Local Genetics
Chemo x Cindy99 (1) in soil *Local Genetics
Sugar Black Rose (1) in soil (4) in hydrofarm **Delicious Seeds

My soil plants are part of a group expirement.
One Grower friend is using Water only, in Roots soil
Another Grower is usingFox Farm line in Roots Soil
I am using the Roots Line in Roots soil. It is not the best way to do things, but this keeps us all within our plant count, lol. We are all growing the same genetics in our soil test, except for the Sugar Black Rose. We are also using the same lighting, as well. As much as possible, we are using identical/similar methods.

I will post pics in a little bit, Since I alternate using my Desktop for writing, and my cell for uploading my attachments, since it seems to work better for me that way....go figure.

Anyhoo.

You are all welcome to grab a seat, and a cup of java, or your favorite beverage, roll a joint, pack a bowl, and Puff Puff Pass.

My soil grow is 400 watt, hydro is 1k.

It WAS my flower room, but I am vegging and flowering for this cycle. I have not decided if I will run two separate rooms, or a veg room and flower room.
My friend left with his equipment, so I am taking the time to re build my other room. :-)
I am leaning towards (2) 2ft 8 bulb T5 refectors if a veg room, or (2) 400watt if a separate room. But that is for another day..... Update next.

Oh, almost forgot.

I will be growing on the 12/1 light cycle. In a nutshell 12/1 works Like this
4pm lights in
4am lights off
9:30am lights on
10:30am lights off
4pm lights on, and repeat.

I'm intrigued by this 12/1 cycle; subbed for sure. If you have links to broaden my understanding that would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the link....
fyi, it the article leans towards sensationalism, imo, but it got me to try it.
This is my SECOND run using the 12/1
I think i said i had a 45% savings on my light bill, but after further calculations it was more like 30%, which is still far better than it was. :D

**Update**

After further discussion with my fiance, and a look at our pocket books, we have decided to go with Separate Veg and flower rooms. This will allow me to have my flower room more perpetual.

I am still working out the bugs in my New Operating System, Ubuntu 11.10. I am having issues with it like crazy, wish i had 9.10 Karmic again, because this unity Dashboard is crap. but anyhoo, the clones are doing good, and my Sugar Black Rose Dirt girl is already catching up to her sisters :D

MY 400 Balast died , so i fixed that, and had a rather shocking experience. So now things are going well again. (knock on wood) I lost a Power strip and extension cord in the process of the Balast's death, may they rest in peace.

Well i will get some pics of the girls, and such in a little bit. Right now i gotta go smoke this OG Skywalker Kush, or is it OG Kush x Skywalker? who knows, i just know it smells great, and tastes great, and gets me medicated and motivated..... at least until i smoke that second bowl. lol

I knew I would find at least one Linux user here; I only keep Microsoft loaded because of my TV card being unsupported; I love monkeying around with live cd's, Puppy is a favorite. Sorry to go off topic, but I've been in love with Linux since 1998 or so. I have probably 100 live cd versions laying around.:hello:

I am a relative noob with linux, but I love it. Still trying to convince the fiance though, lol.

I am having trouble with wine. I am hoping that downloading moonlight will help solve things. I used HerbIQ,, in windows, but having a helluva time trying to get it to work with ubuntu. I have been looking at Fedora as a possible replacement.

Anyhoo, I also like linux for added security against "prying eyes" (feds, and Bill Schuette be damned!!)
Michigan is a battleground right now, with our AG and an anti Medical Cabbabis Majority, trying to regulate us out of existance. I can't be having LEO looking at my patient records in case I get the short straw.

But that is neither here nor there.
I will grow, and take care of my patients, despite what Lansing says, politics should have no part in our Health Choices.

I hear you; it's really a shame that something that has such a wide range of applications and can be grown and utilized without any adulteration is illegal. It is just a plant and should not be regulated as a medicine or drug by any Government. I'm against Government intervention in many aspects of our society as well as the influence of Religious Leaders of all faiths to impose their views rather than respect those of the individual. Don't mean to hop up on a soapbox, sorry.

Thanx to Barack Obonga for his help.

So now i have 9 plants going, 4 clones, and 5 seedlings.

Our water filter sorta exploded somehow, not sure why, but it was loud....

and very WET in our kitchen for a day.

but here are a few updated pics for ya. these clones look good so far, the pics really don't do them justice, but enjoy :)

SPIDER MITES!!!

one of the clones was a mite's holiday inn, apparently. I removed that plant, and she was taken from this world before she could fulfill her life's purpose:(

a moment of silence please for our dearly departed Bubba Kush (Bubbette)

thank you.

just before lights out, i sprayed the remaining plants with a neem oil mix of 1tsp to a gallon of water. I will add a bucket of water into the room, off to the side of the plants but within the lights influence. I am hoping this will bring up the humidity. it was @ 40% i the room :/
i plan on spraying the small ones every other day, with water, and then the neem oil mix.

Being that the plants are so young, i am thinking this should be fine. If anyone has another suggestion, I am all "ears".

I am re-thinking my setup as of now, and will add another update as soon as i figure it out. Will post a few more pics in the meantime, but for now, it is bedtime for me.

**edit**
I read somewhere that a good DIY mite remedy was APPLE JUICE. has anyone heard this? I do not plan on trying it, just curious, as it would have saved me a few dollars, lol.

Those clones two post back look so small!? Do you place your clones directly in your soil?
