Let me start off my introducing myself here. I've been an old school OG poster and grower for quite sometime for any of you youngins O.G. is or was Over Grow. This was a great site until the Canadian or British government shut it down. I was an active member to the OG community for sometime posting photography that competed against a lot of other great growers and legendary breeders such as: Subcool, Miz Jill, BOG, etc. By the way, my old screen name was Stealthninja some of you might remember me... Anyways, it's been awhile and I've been off the forum scene for quite sometime. I actually had a bit of a run in with the law in a non-medical state and I had to lay low for awhile. But I decided to move my ass across the country to a completely legal medical state and obtain my medical license and now these days everything is 100% by the book! I've decided that I wanted to share a collection of my medical grows with everyone in the grass city community and offer my continued support for trying to grow the absolute purest connoisseur medicine!

Now a little bit about me...Let's see I started growing marijuana 18yrs ago in my mom's closet at the age of 13! I use to look at High Times magazines and fantasize about one day owning an HPS light and starting my own grow. My first grow ever at 13 was started with a 250hps bar light the old skool ones that use to hang above pool tables. My mom eventually found the plants and killed them before they were finished.

I never stopped from there I continued to keep trying and as any good grower knows this is a learning experience and you'll continue to learn new things and tricks 10 even 20 years later. So here I am now and this is what my setup looked like for this particular grow. I usually change things up every other grow or I try to change nutrient regimes and mediums at least every three grows. I love to experiment and test new products in closed trial testing.

For this grow, I headed over to the Oaksterdam medical clone nursery in Oakland, CA and purchased myself a cube of SR71-Purple Kush, Sour Grapes, XJ-13 (this is Jack Herer x G13), OG Kush, Strawberry Chunk, and Subcool's elite strain Querkel. I added one more super bomb strain to this grow and that was the Pre 98' Bubba kush that I scored from Seedbay Cannabis Seed Auctions which is a great site to get some beans from it's almost like ebay but seedbay!

I am always doing a perpetual harvest so I harvest every 30 days. I medicate pretty heavy like an oz a day so I'm in need of a lot of medicine and of course variety. My wife's also a med patient and she medicates about a 1/2oz each day so together you could do the math; we're pretty heavy smokers. Personally, I enjoy flighty sativas because I medicate mostly for depression and type A bi-polar disorder as with Indica varieties I use them for insomnia and pain relief. I was in a pretty severe motorcycle accident back in 97' that almost left me paralyzed and addicted to prescription pain medicine. When I finally decided to put the pain pills down and just use natural medicine a.k.a medical marijuana I never went back to another doctor.

At the time of this grow my garden was pretty well balanced with a variety of Hybrids, Sativas and Indicas. The hardware I ran for this grow was (25) 600watt next gen digital ballasts and of course my favorite hoods the hydrofarm daystar ACs. I had two flowering rooms since I'm harvesting every 30 days and one veg/mother room. In my veg room I lit up (5) hydrofarm 8-bulb T5 designer series (they piggy back one another which is an awesome convenience) I vegged these plants for about 45 days from clone size and then switched them into flowering.

The medium that I used for this grow was Canna Coco and the nutrients I was testing was the Canna Bio organic nutrients it's basically a 1-part with two additives such as: Cannazyme and Bio-Boost. I'll get more into this line throughout the thread and explain the negatives and positives of this line. As a side note: I tested this line for about 6mths.

Unfortunately, I didn't start taking A LOT of pictures until flowering. But I'm going to post a few pics today of what my earlier veg stuff looked like and eventually I'll post some more veg pics somewhere along the line. I will say this. My veg mix base has NEVER changed. Occasionally, I'll change the medium and that's about it. That's the one thing that I do keep the same is my veg mix because I have great results with what I do. So like they say why fix it. If it's not broken?

Alright enough with the chatter let me share some pics of these super bomb meddy strains! Feedback is welcome and I'm here to answer any questions that you have. I'm also a breeder and have been so since 2002 under the name Galaxy Genetics. I'll be releasing freebie seed packs here. So stay tuned to my posts and I'll throw freebie beans out to those who are just as passionate as I am about this beautiful, miracle plant.

The first pictures I'll post are of the little babies about two weeks:hello: or so after being brought home!:hello:

Ok I just smoked a volcano bag of White Label Super Skunk and the Oaksterdam XJ-13 mixed together and I'd have to say I'm pretty euphoric right now. The head high is great and very uplifting. So here's a few more pics of the OAKSTERDAM strains: Querkel, Og, Sour Grapes, Purple Kush, and Strawberry Chunk! Overdose530 just keep watching this thread bro and I'll take you all the way to harvest. I remember my first trip to Oaksterdam...

Thanks OD! If you have any questions just ask and I'll do my best to help you out. So this will be my last post of the veg stuff and then I'll follow it up with the some flowering pics!

So I started to tell my OAKSTERDAM story and I'll continue it. I've been up to the Oakland OAKSTERDAM nursery a few times and every time I went I made sure I was there EARLY! I've been searching for a solid purple kush clone for awhile and I'd have to say out of the ten dispensaries that I've scored this same clone from it's been different from each dispensary and not a good different either.

Here's the deal if you want an 100% authentic purple kush clone go to the OAKSTERDAM nursery in Oakland, CA. I've grabbed purple kush clones from two places in Oakland, a place in Sacremento, four different places in LA, and three places in San Diego. They have all been crap! The absolute best Purple Kush is from OAKSTERDAM! I'll post pictures of this beautiful plant later on in this thread. OAKSTERDAM'S SR71-PK will turn a magenta purple at week 11 and it's probably the best indica I've smoked for nausea and headaches.

If you're serious about scoring the PK then here's the secret. Show up to the OAKSTERDAM nursery at like 3am and stand on the street corner and wait for them to open at 7am. I arrived at 3:00am and 15min later more people arrived. They asked: "Are you here for the Purple Kush" and we were like "yeah".

See the messed up thing is OAKSTERDAM is so stingy with this strain they'll only release one to two cubes each morning so that's like 6-18 plants. Basically if you're not the first person in line you'll NEVER get this! So my advice is show up EARLY!!

Alright I'm going to post the final pictures of the OAKSTERDAM girls vegging and the next stuff to follow will be the flowers! So stay tuned and happy growing!

So before I post any flowering pics. I would like to invite anyone else to post any OAKSTERDAM strains that they have done. So far I've done the following: bubblegum, XJ-13, Purple Kush, Shiva Shanti, Querkel, OG, White Widow, and Casey Jones. I go in detail about all of these strains. I loved over 95% of what I grew. :D

So as promised here are some flowering pics of the Oaksterdam girls and the pre '98 Bubba kush that I grew from seed! I'll post more pics soon! So stay tuned! :smoke:

  11. Here's some pics of the purple kush!

  12. That purple kush looks good how long in flowering is it? Also are you dropping temps down at night to bring out the color more?

  13. The purple kush turns a really nice hue of purple around the 11th week of flowering. Also it really likes it's nutes and bloom boosters these are factors that will effect the change of color as well. For the last two weeks of flowering I did drop the temps at night to 60 degrees and below.:D

  14. Ill watch !

  15. Subbed. Can't wait to see the yield from these beasts.

  16. 11 weeks seems a long time for a kush to flower. Is it ready earlier but you just give it extra time. Also how purple does Querkel get I heard it turns even under warm conditions.

  17. Purple Kush is actually more on the Sativa flowering time but it grows fat buds like an indica. I've been growing this plant for around three years now and I've experimented with different picking times ranging from 8-13wks. I've noticed the purple won't start until later in the ninth week and continue through the eleventh week becoming really purple by the end of the eleventh week. The trichomes won't turn amber either until around week eleven. I really like this stone because it's a major body high and it really does justice for pain relief.

I suppose there are many different pheno's of the Querkel some that lean more on the Purple Urkel side and others that lean more on the Space Queen side because Querkel is Space Queen X Purple Urkel. So it's very possible to get a Space Queen pheno if you're growing from seed and if this is the scenario then it won't turn purple period. I was very fortunate to score a Purple Urkel dominant pheno from Oaksterdam and my Querkel would start turning around week 7 which is much earlier than the Purple Kush. However, if I didn't lower the nightly temps then the Querkel wouldn't turn at all! So I still had to lower the temps to influence the color change.

Here's a few pics of the Pre '98 Bubba Kush! :smoke:

  18. Nice.

how about some room shots, or some overall plant shots?

Id like to see what a 25 light grow room looks like, and how its all set-up, especially keen on seeing how your plants are trained if at all, and how they are arranged within the grow room under the lights.

Your porn shots look great , But Lets see some plants !

  19. Russy just back up a page and check out the pics of the room, my lights, equipment and the monsters that are underneath everything. I think all of those pics are on page 1. But I'll be posting more pics of plants and porn!:smoke:
