Is a little less than an eighth enough to make any kind of edible?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by addictaddict, Aug 24, 2011.

  1. I really really want to try some sort of edible but all I have at the moment is a little less than eighth, minus what i just smoked :smoke:

  2. dude that's plenty, you should do a variety though. Have some everclear just lying around somewhere? Who doesn't? Well if you do, take about 3 shots worth and put it in a jar with like a gram of finely ground herb and let it sit for like 3 months. Shake it daily or so and open it up every so often. take like one shot of that and you will get so :hippie:

Oh, you want an edible tonight? Why didn't you say something. Well why don't you try a firecracker? Grind up as much bud as you want and mix it in a cereal bowl with a generous amount of peanut butter. Add a little vegetable oil if you really want those thc molecules to be exposed to the fat life. Mix that shit up real nicely and spread it on a gram gracker or two. Put another crackre on top and wrap in tin foil and bake in your oven for 21-23 minutes on about 325 degrees.

  3. how much weed should i use per firecracker? and how high will just one get me?

  4. Do you have access to a kitchen for an hour or two?

A firecracker is a great start if you've never experienced an edible high, it is also known as a 'worst-case-scenario' edible, made for those who have limited supplies or (for whatever reason) little to no access to a kitchen. You will need between 0.5g - 1.5g depending on your tolerance, but that may or may not hit you as hard as only a fraction of the same material, processed in oil.
Firecrackers absolutely do work for many people, they are good if you have normal/superior digestion and if you need a very fast edible dose, especially if you can afford to use a few sessions in material, without the risk of running low on meds. But a high quality oil is just as easy, if not easier to make.

It's a little more time consuming, but it is just wait-time (just enough time to relax, smoke a bowl and read for a bit, or watch a movie and have a 'working intermission' half way through) while the glandular material gently heats in a pure oil source, promoting bioavailability, versus an oil source diluted with water and peanut solids, with crackers absorbing the oil that is available, at the same time.

This is why firecrackers require more material than a person would normally smoke in a session, while a properly made oil will require much less material, to provide results with even greater intensity.

To learn how to make this (or your trimmings...)

The best oils, produce little to no odor during processing, if sealed properly and heated and cooled correctly. You can easily put it in any boxed brownie mix... be sure to read the final paragraph for detailed dosage information. \t\t

If in a rush, you can omit the fuses, and either omit the chocolate(canna) coating altogether, or you can buy chocolate coating wafers, or a quick and easy, microwavable chocolate (hardening) dip.

Or if you're in the mood for something a little more sweet, and have another 15 - 20 minutes with your stove, you can make these...

I highly recommend using lecithin when making oil in general but especially if that oil is to be used for candy making, at least for your first few tries. And if you are especially unfamiliar with making hard candy: use a portion of corn syrup for its glucose content if you have no issue with corn products, or either rice syrup or molasses if you do, and make a 'glass style candy' to start, as shown below, rather than using pops or molds to start, by simply lightly greasing a large sheet of foil on an indented (to prevent overflow) heat-safe surface/pan, and you should pour the candy on that, to shatter later when it hardens.
