I have a couple questions as I'm about to bake for the first time.

1) I saw a video of the cooked weed/butter mixture being strained through a cheese cloth, so I bought one. Can I substitute that for the potato masher/coffee filter/strainer step?

2) Can I use just regular buds? Is it better to cook with lower quality stuff? Could I get the same effect if I used a quarter of beasters/kind bud?

Yeah cheese cloth is old school and a bit messy but will work.

Yes you can use lower quality weed, but of course more is required for the same effect.

Hey, First of all thank you very much for making such amazing guides, I had never even heard of quiso! So ive been baking with cannabutter for two years now and I always have used a double boiler and like an hour of heat. I use high fat content butter (not sure if this has any affect on the amount of thc absorbed)like european and kerrygold butter. I have always thrown it out after drying and trying to smoke it once. can i make quiso with it? more butter of less potency? any help would be appreciated. I'm gonna try and make some butter your way. thanks again

I'm sure cannabutter gets you incredibly baked.. Though it does however look thoroughly disgusting.

You get back what you put in...If you use nasty shcwagg then yes im sure it would be pretty foul, But if you use well dried and cured quality trim, shake, stems and buds you get a delicious smooth result.

How much of that cannabutter would one have to consume before being...say... 10 bongs worth of high?

You cant really compare eating to smoking, it has different effects on the mind and body...They are best combined for the optimum effect, but 2 table spoons of cannabutter and a bowl load will have you feelin' great!

Ive been feeling pretty crappy all week with this bug the doc calls "Mycoplasm." She said it can turn into pneumonia and I have a really bad sore throat so smoking isnt too appealing to me at the moment.
Im gonna make some budder tomorrow and probably put it on some grilled cheese or something. Ive got a few questions though:
1) Im only gonna make one serving, not a batch. How much, or little, can I use and still get baked. I was thinkin about a gram of this OG Kush, should I use a little more? How much butter should I use?
2) Would you advise just spreading the budder on the bread and then grilling it? (to make the grilled cheese)

Sorry to hear about your illness, but you will be glad to know I have the perfect recipe for you!

One thing we must remember is the different effects between smoking and eating MJ. when you smoke THC is quickly distributed into the blood stream in relatively large amounts, however when we eat it THC is slowly metabolized and absorbed in smaller portions thus making the effects less mental and more physical compared to smoking. So I rarely use less then 3 grams for even the smallest recipes, but If your OG kush is really High grade I think you can get by with 2 grams. So heres what to do.......

Grind 2 grams of weed very fine, in a bowl use the microwave to melt 3 table spoons of real butter no magerine or butter substitues! once melted add the weed and stir well.

Place into the fridge for at least 1 hour. After 1 hour you can reheat and strain if you wish but since its such a small batch and you are using kush you may just want to leave it in.

Now grab a can of your favorite chicken noodle soup heat as directed and and add the butter stir to blend and enjoy!!!! Be sure to drink every drop of broth as well you wouldn't want to waste any of your precious butter! A great great remedy!!!
