Hey all,

So, I completed my 1st indoor grow using CFLs, 14 of them to be exact. I had planted bag seed from really good weed(I was shocked to find 3 seeds). I planted all 3 in Miracle Grow(I know, I know!) and they turned out to be all females and harvested just fine. I got 3 zippers, 1 each plant. While I was doing this grow, I learned a lot here and from other places so that brings me to this grow.

I am using a 70/30 Coco/Perlite mixture with dolomite lime in air pots. The tent for vegging is 36x20x64. Light is 600w Quantum digital ballast with dimming and Hydrofarm Daystar AC sealed reflector. MH conversion for veg and HPS for flower.

I followed Ed's coco guide to get started including the shot glass method for germination which was a first for me. It worked great. I planted the seeds in the common plastic red cups and within days I had roots coming out the bottom of some. In the following days I had a little trouble with growth but have since corrected it by PHing all distilled water to 5.8 and adding a little Cal Mag Plus. I didn't think it was that critical early on but they sure liked it. Bringing you up to the present I added some CNS17 Grow on day 17 and MH are at 75%.

The starting lineup:
Barney's Farms Amesia Lemon Haze
Dutch Passion Strawberry Cough
DNA 60 Day Wonder
Dinafem Deep Sweet Grapefruit
Dinafem California Hash Plant

Awesome grow so far, I'm definitely following along.

Sometime next week I will start a second grow w/ airpots, in coco. Also very excited about the BF Amnesia Lemon (I'm also going to grow that out as well!).

Strawberry Cough is already sprouting 2 new branches from yesterday's topping. Actually, I could see the new light green sprouts within a few hours of topping. That is wild!

Wow, my first time topping and it's amazing to watch then grow. The close up is Strawberry Cough which seems to be my biggest plant.

5 weeks from seedlings popping up

They seem to be looking happy. The 60 Day Wonder on the right is already budding but sure is growing slow. I have been giving it CNA17 Grow but I think I will switch to some Fox Farm Big Bloom. I know MH isn't an optimum spectrum for flowering but it is still a 600w light right on it. It is going to have to move to another tent when i start flowering the other plants and will most likely be finished with many CFLs.

The only reason I got a 60 Day Wonder is to see if it really smells and tastes like the real Williams Wonder I used to get many years ago.

I hit them harder with nutes this time around. CNA 17 for the 4 together and Fox Farm Grow Big with Floralicious and Bud Candy for the 60 Day Wonder.

They responded with love!

Your 60 day wonder is probably just a dwarf pheno, which unfortunately happens sometimes. You can still pull an ounce, especially under a 600w. the dwarfs stay really small like that almost like a bonsai pot plant.

Day 46 Vegging

All 4 are coming along nicely. At the rate they are growing, 12/12 might be within 14 days. I will also be transplanting them into 3 gallon Air Pots this week.

The little 60 Day Wonder is growing bud but the plant is a dwarf. I up'd the cal mag+ to no avail. I am going to try some Epsom salt next as I've seen Ed mention getting quick results from it.

Here's a zoom in of the 60 day wonder. She's gonna be real small and is already turning me off autos but I had to try this one out.

Day 53 Vegging

I transplanted the Straw. Cough and Hash Plant to 12.5L air pots. I also used a new mix for the coco.
1 gallon coco
2 tbs dolomite lime in small pellets
2 tbs marine cuisine
2 tbs of indonesian bat guano
2 cups perlite

I will transplant the other 2 in the coming days. I have a Secret Jardin DR120 coming in this week. I will be going to 12/12 once everything is settled into the new tent.

In the future I think I will just plant directly into bigger air pots. There is really no need to have this extra work. Transplanting with air pots couldn't be easier though on the other hand.

Love the way that non-root bound rootball looks! I can't wait until transplant time to see how my airpots are working out for me.

Yeah man, these air pots are kickin ass! So far, I have seen no ill results from the 2 transplants into my new coco mix. The main root ball is still in the original coco so I'd imagine that helps as the roots ease into their new home.

I'm so glad my 4x4 tent is coming tomorrow. I'm thinking 12/12 this weekend or next week. I do want to take some clones of the amnesia lemon and strawberry cough before switching.

To recap, the 4 main plants have been fed distilled water with 5 to 10ml of Cal Mag Plus(every watering) and Botanicare CNS17(not the coco mix) PH'd to 5.8 every time. The 60 day wonder has been getting fox farm big bloom, bud candy, floralicious, and kook bloom. I'm kind of just throwing the kitchen sink at the auto.

Sweet, I'm really glad they are working out for you (also thanks for that tip in my journal about them taking off after some time).

I'm slightly disturbed that I'm not getting this "explosive" growth I was expecting, but hey - I can't complain. After all, I should have a pretty sweet harvest this weekend on my first grow.

I've been smoking quick dried (*VERY* immature) budlings from one of my weak plants and they've knocked me on my ass - so you can imagine how excited I am to harvest (feels like I've been waiting soooo long).

Your girls are looking beautiful and I think you're going to have some monsters on your hands two weeks into 12/12 :)

Day 57 Vegging New Tent

Well, I got my Secret Jardin DR 120 yesterday and finally got everything moved over from my 36x20x64 tonight. I LOVE this new tent. Believe me, spend the minimal extra coin for a Secret Jardin. Fit and finish is second to none.

1st pic is the old tent. I can use that as a mother tent or cloning tent now. I won't put HID lights in it though. I'll use CFL or T5.

In the last pic strains are back left:Cali Hash Plant, back right:Straw Cough, front left Amnesia Lemon Haze, front middle:Sweet Deep Grapefruit, front right: 60 Day Wonder(soon to move elsewhere to finish it's final days).
