Purple Cindy in Aero space shuttle

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Grow Journals' started by Earl, Feb 15, 2008.

  1. I was one of the first to receive the PC strain from HGS. (high grade seeds)

I planted 6 Purple Cindy seeds on the 26th of Dec 2007.

I will grow these out in the aero space shuttle system.

  2. I got these seeds on warranty,
    because my WW hermied,
and the timing was just lucky,
to be the first with the PC.

Purple Cindy is a very potent cross between Purple Oregon Thai and Cinderalla 99. Purple Thai is a first generation land-race Chocolate Thai crossed once with a first generation land-race Highland Oaxaca Gold. Cinderella 99 or "C99" is a potent cross between Jack Herer and ShivaSkunk. Purple Cindy is a merging of these fine genetics. This unique cross has a wonderful fruity aroma reminiscent of a sweet pineapple/mango garden. The high is complex beginning with a strong psychadelic buzz that jetisons you to the stratosphere followed by a euphoric state of hightened creativity and finally an equally long state of peace & contentment. Good yielder for a sativa. Can develop purple hues in late flowering. Great strain for creative endevours! A HIGHGRADE SEEDS exclusive.

  3. The first two sprouts appeared at day 5,
and a couple of others are peaking up from the coir.

These two already have roots below the bottom of the net pot.
Here is some child root porn.

  4. 3 days later

    4 up and two pushing.

    .

  5. 2 more days
    The fifth sprout emerged yesterday.
The sixth sprout looks like it is working it's way out.

I moved two of the sprouts out of the germinator box,
into this contraption I threw together from old parts.

    It holds 5gls

    Day nine since planting.

  6. Day 15 since planting.
    All six beans have sprouted.

Two sprouts are growing in 2 DWC tubs,
    and 4 are growing
in their own private individual aero containers,
to prevent the roots from becoming entangled.

I have all 6 plants under the 600w HPS.

I am feeding all of them 50% AN 3 part nutes and gnatrol
until they are ready to transfer to the Aero system
    in 2 and 1/2 weeks.

    .

  7. Day 20

    Flushed the gnatrol
and moved one sprout to the DWC tub
the Jamaican was found DOA in,
    this morning.

The four that were being sprayed have very nice roots.

The two in DWC were not as well developed,
so I moved those two into the aero set up,
    hoping they will catch up.

Two that were in aero, are now in DWC.

One of the PC sprouts got a dose of low pH for a day,
    and has some leaf spotting.

  8. Day 23 since planting

  9. some intresting sounding genetics. cant wait to see the final product.

cant wait to see more spaceship grows :)

  10. Day one, Launch:

    Rocket Fuel.
    Dutch Master
    Gold Grow A & B 150ml ea.
    DM Max Grow 75ml
    DM Zone 20ml
    2ml Barricade
    Initial fuel load 50.99.25%
    (hey, it's rocket science)

1300EDT after loading fuel, inital pH was 5.8, tds 500, adjusted pH=5.65

    1300 5.8 500 5.65

1315 Ground,..capcon: you are OK for "light off" of both 400 w HIDs

1330 uh..Shuttle, ...capcon: you are go for insertion of plant #1

    Roger capcon.(deep gravely capt voice)

    IMG feed is good.
1334: Shuttle, you are go for insertion of plant #2
    Roger that capcon.....

Uh, Capcon, we got a problem.....

    ah go ahead Shuttle.

cap, the batteries on the camera died.

Roger,....uh,.. continue insertion, and capture images when able.

    roger, standby.

Capcon, Shuttle, insertion complete, mark: 1343EDT.

Double A Oh Kay there crew,
    Standby and monitor pH.

Roger capcon, I'm lighting a fatty,
and sending the "crew chief" to stabilize the fuel system.
(tilting my chair back, and putting my feet on the dash.)

Tune in later to find out what happens to Capt Earl,
    and the Purple Cindies.....

  11. Batteries are charged again.

  12. I got the macro lens for my camera

The big plant in DWC, that I was hoping is a boy, is not.

And one other big plant looks like it may be the male I am after.

So I am going to swap places with these two,
and hope I don't set them back too much.

  13. Well, it looks like I'm going to get some pollen this grow,
from both the WW and the PC
    [IMG]

Here is the PC male in DWC.

    A close up.

  14. ever have any stability issues with those small baskets? or do the roots ballance it out?

btw, wheres the root p0rn? (looks like your just posting the whole grow at once..)

  15. Lookin good. It appears the stalk on that plant is huge. Is that the genetics or is it the way you are growing it. I know severe LST yields big stalks on plants too.

How does this plant look so far comparing it to plants from previous grows?

I have some PC too that just germinated. Germination seemed slow but that says nothing about how the actual plant will be. Some of the pics make some of the leaves put off a purplish hue. Is that the light, the camera or the plant?

They say that PC can turn a purplish color later or something like that. I am anxious to see what happens.

Just out of curiosity, why are you wanting the pollen?

  16. The one plant is huge,
and has not had anything special done to it.

I cannot compare to previous grows,
since PC is a new strain.

The purple hue is due to lighting.
    The plants are very green.

I imagine that the PC will purple during flower,
if the temperature is low enough.

    I am saving the pollen,
    to make some seeds.

    I have a WW male,
to cross with the PC also.

I am hoping the F3s will revert to some of the original genetics of the PC,
Purple Oregon Thai, Chocolate Thai, Cindy99, Oaxaca Gold, Jack Herrer, or Shiva Skunk.
Any one of these will be OK with me.

The WW cross, will be another great gene to add to the pool.

    .

  17. I was thinking in comparison to other non-super strains.

I was just looking at my PC that popped from the rootplug last nite and notice that even at 1" tall the stem looks big for it's age and size.

Wouldn't it be nice if it HAS to have such a big trunk in order to hold the weight of all the bud it will have on it.
