Fender Bass cab stealth grow

Hey guys I just wanted to bounce some ideas that I had off of you guys to properly set up this grow.

I have two boxes that I was planning on putting in my closet. One for veg/mother/clones and another one stacked on top for flowering. I still cant decide which box to use for which stage. One is a clothing cabinet with double doors (2ftx 18inx 3ft) and the other is this Bass cab (2ftx18 inx 28in)

Im debating whether or not to cut out the bottom of this cab and raise it another couple of feet or so.

For the flowering box I was planning on putting a wall directly in the middle of it so that I can put a 150watt hps on each side and keep at least two plants going at different stages, because I wanted to stagger my grow so that I can harvest 1-2 mature plants every 2-4 weeks.

Im trying to keep it pretty low budget, (although I do plan on getting an HPS for the flowering box) and a carbon filter is a must because I live in an apartment complex. I dont really want to buy two filters, so can I somehow attach a carbon filter to two inline fans (one coming from each box)? Or do I even need one for the veg box (Ive heard conflicting reports on needing a filter for the veg box or not so I was just wondering.

What size fans would I need to keep a box that size with 2 150watt HPSs cool? Even better yet, could I get away with using one can fan for both boxes?

Also, I found some cheap 150 watt HPS on HTG but I couldnt find any with ducts for inline fans. Ive seen the inline cooled ones at my local hydro store but they are like 100 a piece vs the 70 for the cheap 150s on HTG. I figure with the amount of wattage thats going into either of those boxes that I'd be better off getting a light that I can cool directly from the inside of. So if somebody could point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

Feel free to give me some of your own ideas to make this setup even better.

Re: Fender Bass cab stealth grow

I would say that if you intend on making those boxes light proof then you will need pretty high CFM fans to keep that HID bulb from burning your babies that close to them. Strong air in, strong air out and you should be good, but making it light proof and accomplishing that is sometimes tricky on small boxes. Consider starting your project with CFLs to veg. and start saving $ for the flower cycle box.
