Security Camera Systems

Im thinking of investing in a security camera system, yet i know nothing about them. Im not sure where to post this, but im sure some growers here have some cameras. Im looking for 3 cameras that records a couple days at a time. Im thinking the best way is something like this, then getting a computer for only this task.

I highly recommend IP Cameras. You can access them remotely from your phone or any other computer. You can set them to record motion, sound or even send sounds through them to an external speaker.
My setup:
4 trendnet IP cameras on motion detection - when motion or sound occurs, it sends images from 3 seconds before the motion and then all of the images while motion is occuring on the camera to my cell phone and remote NAS (network accessible storage) device which only costs about $220 - as opposed to a standalone computer (+ power usage).

Look up Trendnet on Newegg, highly recommend their wireless IP cameras. Goodluck.

They have 4 infrared wireless camera kits on ebay with digital video recorders for like $200.
I'm in the process of installing mine. We had kids breaking trees down at 3am drunk out of their mind the other night and last night somebody did a "ding dong ditch" on us. Creeping me out with all this wild activity around the grow house. We bought the cameras and are in the process of registering for a shotgun. haha Nobody gonna be fucking with us or we'll see it coming and blast them when they enter. Done deal

Last year some mofo's kicked down our neighbors door when they were home like they were going to do a home invasion robbery but they ran when they saw the neighbor lady home. That's when we put in the security iron screen door..

remember, anyone with a tuner on your frequency (or a frequency scanner) can pick up on your cameras if they are wireless, and they can pinpoint them with great accuracy.

Not only that but with a $50 device they can be scrambled so they don't work all together.
That's why I highly recommend WiFi WPA2-PSK AES+TKIP over regular wireless.

I do like the web cam idea, but that still would make me fear someone else seeing, no matter how encrypted it is. Wired only with illegal grows, hell, even for legal grows. Just something to think about.

Dude isn't that considered laying in wait and gets you in trouble, just a friendly heads up.
I know of more good citizens who have gotten in more trouble than
the bad guys they were up against.
And just remember if someone ever takes an R.O. against you, you will be compelled to get rid of all your guns.
I alway did like "an armed society would be a polite society".
