Anyone heard of this odor killer gel?

I'm looking for a passive odor killer for a closet grow room. I know charcoal scrubbers are the best, but don't want to invest in a centrifugal fan for a 1 to 4 plant closet grow. Plus I'm worried the fan would make too much noise. I'm not trying to hide the odor/noise from parents or anything. I'm grown and live in my own apartment. For maximum security I don't want any smell/noise attracting anyone to my closet in case a repairman or the nosy apartment maintenance man ever need to enter my bedroom for any reason. I have no way to exhaust the smell outside, so I'll have to control the smell internally.

I found this odor killer gel that looks promising.

Has anybody heard of it or used it?
Does anyone have a recommendation of another type of odor killer gel, or other concept for a passive odor control?
Really appreciate some feed back on this. Odor control is the only part of my closet grow setup I haven't quite figured out yet.

I live on the first floor of the building. One side of my apartment has windows facing the parking lot, the other side faces a pool area. I can't vent out those windows without blowing the stink in peoples face. That'll get me busted quicker than having the smell in my apartment.

How noisy are the 4" centrifugal fans? If the gels don't work, I'll probably have to invest in one. But I don't want any noticable noise, like I said in my first post.

You should vent in your own room and use duct connected to a pair of panyhoes stuffed with dryer sheets masks the smell pretty good

or just do it right and get a carbon scrubber inline with your exhaust that will completely eliminate any odor coming out.

I used to use drye sheets to hide the smoke smell..just take a toilet roll and stuff the roll with dryer sheets and blow thru it..makes the smoke smell like happy!

Does it work for the grow room though? I may try that out since I am growing so little...

The whole ONA line is great for eliminating odor. The ONA gel will get rid of the smell in the room and the carbon scrubber will get rid of the smell from the exaust. If you are worried about noise from the fan, it's a simple matter of installing a muffler inline before you vent to the outside. They are not cheap, tho. Roughly the same cost as a decent quality carbon filter. Maybe a bit more. But ask yourself, how much is your privacy worth? With the gel and the muffler you should be able to remain very stealth and off LEO's radar, if you catch my drift. Cheers bro.

You could always try using one of those room air purifiers, the type that uses a washable hepa filter. They improve air quality by removing pollen and particulate matter from the air. They will also help reduce the odor in any room that they are used in.

Re: Anyone heard of this odor killer gel?

I just ordered the Ona Odor Counteractant Gel, I suppose this was what you're talking about. I'll post when I get it and have a chance to put it to use.

I'm interested in this muffler a_kings_fan mentioned...

Re: Anyone heard of this odor killer gel?

Hey there SkunkApe, it sounds like you and I are working with pretty similar setups (cab in a closet in a bedroom). I was on the fence for a long time about the exhaust. I ended up delaying building my cab a while so I could do the sure thing and get a carbon scrubber with the inline fan.

One thing I wasn't ready for was how loud the fan was. It's really loud! With my cab all sealed up, closet door closed, and bedroom door closed, you could still hear it pretty easily from the rest of the apartment. I've decided to buy a muffler as well. Hopefully that helps the noise, I'm trying to think of an easy and not too horrible looking way to add some insulation to the closet to help out a bit that way too.

Odor neutralizing liquids with polymer beads, 5 gal bucket with a muffin fan in it works awesome.

You need a carbon air filter you will get caught. If the best you can do is have it just passively filtering the air space, then so be it. You have no idea how good carbon traps smells, and your highly expensive bullshit method of spraying/gels is only going to cause a lot of problems in the long run.

go buy a 90$ panasonic whisper fan off ebay, go to home de pot and buy 20$ of ducting, and get 25-50lbs of activated carbon off ebay (20-30$) and be worry free for the next year or two.

Yes this sounds difficult and full of effort, but if you try to half ass this you will hate yourself later

Re: Anyone heard of this odor killer gel?

DO NOT SCREW AROUND, smell with get you busted faster than a six legged man in a foot race. All that has to happen is someone come to your door for something and boom, your busted, and unles your living somewhere where its legal, dont make the stupid mistake of cheaping out, Either build yourself a scrubber, or buy a set up off ebay, you dont even need a centrifugal fan.

Check that out, it might be something you are interested in. But seriously do not fuck around with your freedom. Cause your ass is going to be in a sling if the wrong people find out. Take care man. I hope you drop the cash on a filter..
