Sealed Grow Should I Still Filter The Room

Organic soil grow
I have 3 600w aircooled hps w/mh conversion bulbs for veg.
9x4x7 growing space
1600ppm of c02 and complete climate control (ac/heat/humidifier/dehumidifier)
sealed grow
Jacky White- 75%sativa 25%indica
Icecream- 40%sativa 60%indica
Pradise Seeds
MY QUESTIONS ARE...

1.IT is a sealed grow but i have a 200cfm canfan/filter combo, should i still hang it and filter the air through the carbon filter back in to the room? If so WHY?
2.How often should i filter the air? and for how long ?

my grow rooms sealed too and i have my fan running 24/7 too keep the smell from escaping and trust me it can escape! i dunno how you should run it with the co2 being added not sure if the carbon filter would scrub it out... rumple's got a set up thats sealed and filtered check him out.

how do your plants survive in a sealed room without c02?

Hey Arnold 9x4x7=252 cubic ft. of space. You would need at least a 250 CFM blower to replace the air once a minute. You should always circulate air or replace the air in your area at least once a minute so your 200 CFM is a little small but it's better than nothing. If you could get one that is 250 CFM you would be on track but if that's all you have it will have to do. I used to shoot for replacing the air 3 times a minute but never used Co2 so just replacing it once makes more sense since you can have temps a little higher than normal using Co2.

motorhead, my fan is actually 440cfm and my filter is 200cfm but i have a fan speed control witch will allow me to adjust the fan cfm and lower it alittle. I have a sealed room, no exaust no intake i want to know if i should still run the fan/filter simply just to filter the air from in the room back in to the room. My questions are...


1. Is this even necessary?
2. How often should i have it kick on? (keep in mind the high levels of co2)
3. When it does kick on how long should i run it for? (i have timers for all this)

Hey Arnold! Heh, I had to. Anyway, if your room is completely sealed and you have an ac/dehumidifier and CO2 covered then you don't need to replace the air in the room. The only reason to use the carbon scrubber would be for odor issues. The only reason you have to have an exhaust and intake in your room is to bring in cooler air with more CO2. If you dont bring in fresh air, the plants stop growing because all the CO2 in the surrounding air has been used up. You have the cool air covered by the AC and the CO2 covered also. I figured that, i just needed couple people to at least back me up. The grow will be in a shed with ac/heat/dehumidifier/humidifier/co2. Oder shouldnt b an issue. For the record i have heard to still filter the air just to clean out whatever is floating around thats what made me alittle confused.

I dont see how carbon with its billions of tiny crevaces, can absorb a gas. Does anyone else have experience with this? Now im curious as well.
