3. If your concerned about your bill, run only 1 400W HPS... the Tub is small enough that all the plants will get the primary coverage anyway. For better results, use 1 600W HPS.

4. Yes, it is essential you cover the window, you don't want prying eyes. It also helps maintain a strict 18/6 and 12/12 light schedule.

5. If you don't live in close proximity to anyone, I'd suggest putting a window AC unit in your window, and covering the rest up. This way you'll have fresh, cool air being pumped into the closet and you won't have to worry about heat issues from your lamp.... which you will if you choose to run a HPS... then bring 1 oscillating fan into the closet and you now have the ideal growing environment.

Note: You may need a dehumidifier depending on how it gets inside the closet.
Herbal you are the man! Thank you so much bro! The only problem is that i do live in close proximity to others (townhouse) and the window in the closet i want to use faces the street so the window ac unit is probably out of the question. If i take a picture of my closet and send it to you, could you give me a few ideas on what I could do? Once again thanks a lot and your plants look beautiful from both grows!

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

Guys, guys, guys, please read through the thread THOURGHLY before asking the man questions, half of the ones i saw were already answered!

Once again herbal, great thread/DIY. Ill probably be growing 6 low riders in this system so do you think the specs that you used would be fine for this? And also, how did your diesel riders grow in comparison to a non-auto plant. And are the EZ-clone sprayers you used 360 degrees or no?Thanks again bro, much love!

I hate to answer my own question but no, they are not 360 degree sprayers, these are...http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc....SCS360&eq=&Tp=. Ooh me have idea! what if you replace the four sprayers in the middle with 360 degree ones for increased coverage...like it or not im doing that with mine.

The red EZ-Clone sprayers on page one are all 360.

Different sprayers for different applications. You could use 180 sprayers on the outer edges of the manifold but you will get better coverage with 360s.

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

Thanks for the inspiration Herbal!

I made a scaled down version over the weekend with an 18 gallon roughneck and an Eco 396 pump with 12 3" net pots to veg my cuttings. I gave it three coats of plastic dip spray to keep light out.

Peace

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

Nice tub noober...looks like it should work nicely.

Can anyone tell me how to transplant a plant once its already in a netpot rooted? I made a dwc with a 3inch netpot but what happens when it out grows it?

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

Thanks man.

When these are done vegging they're going into a 31 gallon roughneck Aero tub (yet to be built). I'll lift the net pots out of this tub and put them into the other tub in the flowering closet.

You could do the same or build 5 gallon bubble buckets. How big is your DWC container?

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

You can grow in a 5 gallon BB from seed/cutting all the way to harvest. If you have enough air stones the root ball will stay healthy.

You roots shouldn't get damaged if you lift the net pot gently. From what I have read people pull them up to rotate the pots to diffeent sites all the time.

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

Damn alright, that sounds solid. Yeah my mother plant was started in a 5 gallon and her roots are getting huggeeee fast. Someone on one of my threads said that i should get the airstones on the bottom of the bucket so that the lower roots can get oxygen from them, is this true? I have tried many different things to try to hold the airstones down but they continue to float around freely. I just hope this isnt too big of an issue or one at all.

Re: DIY Aero-Veg Tub

It's not a bubble bucket without bubbles... you gotta have air stones.

We should stop hijacking Herbal's DIY thread
