Man my temps max at 84.6 and stay around 83 with my exhaust/off all together after running 9 hours now. The light tube fan really does the trick.. Since im using C02 those temps are pretty good. I may even turn down the lighttube fan to raise the temps a few degrees and then just force an exhauset cycle every 3 hours for the hell of it. And then force one right before i open the cab door to clean that weed smelling air.
Overall i guess its a good thing because i have more stealth w/ the one fan running, i will be wasting less co2, and i wont have to worry about the carbon filter effectiveness that much if im not always using it... Just wish i didn't overkill it. I could always utilize it if i ever quit or run out of C02 i guess..

Again very nice cab or cabs you have there. I like the way you've connected them together and worked out the venting in the one cab, makes for a very clean flowering area. It's nice to see someone go out and spend the money and do it right, I agree those prefabs are garbage. What did the co2 system cost you and how much do you think you've spent for everything, all items related one way or another to the project as in the plasma torch included. (oh how I would love to play with one of those, can I come visit?
) I wanted to add sound dampening too, how well did that work? The stuff I wanted would have cost $400 to do it all. I'm puzzled by a pic, you have what looks like a vent going outside? As far as shutting down your cab that is a good idea but you don't want the air pumps for the water off to long especially if you have young ones in there, just something to keep in mind. Put a lot of thought into your DWC system, you want it as easy going as possible IMO. Is that a shelf in your veg area for a mom plant? If so I see wasted space under there, why not build a small box with vents and really sound proof the hell out of it and put your air pumps in there, those damm things make lots of noise when the place is quite, there the loudest thing in my box. Your temps are probably perfect for co2 but how about for your DWC, apparently they can't tolerate warm water, anything over 75f can cause nute problems, at least thats what everyone seems to say and most are good sources. I've never gone over so I can't verify. If your temp is 84f then I think you res would be at least 80f, starting to get up there. Others report having res temps the same temp as the cab but I haven't experienced that. If your air pumps were in a cooler location they would bubble cool air in the water which helps. Ebb & flow will work with warm water. I'm sure you'll be able to use the extra ventilation later, you'll need it to get ride of humidity, more leaves/buds = higher humidity. In my other small cab late in flowering I had to run the fan every 15min or the humidity would get over 80% or something crazy like that. I'm at the point in my grow now that everyday the humidity seems to go up a %. I started at 20% and got up to 45%, after I removed all my lower leaves it went down to 35% but it will be going up again, it does worry me. Well there was probably more I wanted to comment on but I'll get it next time. Can't wait to see plants in there. What are you planning on growing? ![]()

Thanks for the comments Rob.
No vent going outside. Just the exhaust vents on top right hand side and the intakes on the back/bottom of the right side. That shelf is for the mothers. I want mothers above and below it. So I am not really wasting space. There are 2 CFLs for the top shelf and 2 for the bottom. That T5 puts out some decent light for veg and some hist the mothers as well. I will most likely put up one of the pull down partitions to block most of that life from my mother shelves. I was thinking like one of those baby sun shades for car windows or something.... I did build a pump box too, but that dual diaghram pump (320GPH, only like $60 or $80) is quiet that when i have it running, I dont hear it when the cabinet doors are shut. I will be adding a smaller air pump as back-up that will run all the time in case of main pump failure or I use that system shutdown deal....Here is a more detailed pic of that area.. So maybe the fatmat is working..I just have nothing to compare it to. The cab is compeletely silent except for the air movement you hear that isnt noticble over a room oscilating fan... ![]() and that verticle duct is just where the Co2 tank will be... ![]() I am worried about temps of the res if i go dwc as well. Temps in the veg chamber where the fans are run at 74 when i have a 70 ambient room temp. I was thinking about placing the box for the pump where it gets rushed over by the intakes to ensure the air is 70. Other than that i guess regualrly topping off w/ cooler water, i dont know. What do you use to keep your res temps in check?

As far as costs go im really not sure yet. Still have alot to build.
The C02 tank was like 100, the solenoid like 140, and the sentenial CHHC-1 was like 500. I also consider the intake dampers part of the co2 costs becasue i wouldnt need them otherwise(or need them less). They were like 25-30 a piece. so co2 basically like $800 ..if you want to consider the seperate fan for cooltube ducting, dehumidifier so i won't have to vent as often, etc like $1000 total... Although I already have ordered everything, i may hold off on teh C02 my first grow to focus more on the other envirometal factors. I think adding it mid grow or even second grow would be better as i would have other variables contsant(im hoping). The plasma was pricey at 650 but i only used it for the 2 days it took me to cut my pieces. I will be selling it and see them used for the same model going for 500+ so i was essentially renting it. I am just waiting to sell it in the event i want to make any changes... I dont want to vent every hour. I am trying to avoid that. The more i think about it, the least I have to cycle my air the better. I have a small humidfier that i bought for my flower area that removes like 16oz a day think. Do you think that is large enough? I have read reviews online and people say that the 16 oz res on the humidifier fills up in like 8 hours...So I was planning on just running tubing for the res of the humidifier down to my dwc res... Rob I appreciate you chacking out my cab and please make some more recommendtations. Thanks

well sir i think the only thing i could possibly suggest in the whole thing is casters for the bottom.. I've gone thru a couple small rubber maid "tool shed" builds before and it was always much nicer at the end with casters on the bottom... maybe I'm just ADD and have to move things around a lot...
anyways.. rock awesome case still ![]() ![]() ![]() cant wait till i hear what you decide for a medium... in my opinion those little spherical grow rocks made from expanded clay and net pots with a dwc was always my favorite.. but you say under 18 in..... /shrug... let me know how it goes please ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() EDIT: PS... my apologies on the name... it was given to me a while ago by a friend of mine... its 13 characters long and works for many video games, its never already taken :-)

I may try it but these things are HEAVY. Especially after the fatmat.

Have you ever checked into a water chiller?
http://discount-hydro.com/productdis...d=420&navid=55 A little expensive but I bet worth it for the DWC.

[size=2]Nice air pump, thats what I need but have 3 regular style ones and there loud. I meant to mention a chiller but hear they throw off a lot of heat. I'm always surprised to see such high water temps, it shouldn't be hotter then the air temp. My air is at 76f and water is 70.2f at the moment. I don't have to do anything, it just stays there. When I add more water it goes down to 67-68. Adding ice works but not very practical. I see your thinking of an AC and humidifier, where the heck would you put them? I think the humidifier would fill up fast but have no experience. There would probably be more water then the DWC could handle. Plus you would have water from an AC but that could probably go in the DWC. I bet the sound stuff is working, I would think a metal cab would give off sound easier then wood.
Here's the pic I'm curious about. ![]()

I was thinking the same thing (about the AC and dehumid) after I mentioned the chiller; Where would that go? My bad. Maybe another cab added on to house more equipment? That would be one huge total cab. Looks really sweet.
